Kintobor Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Very well then. Give me some time to do Sarge. Quote

Kintobor Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Sgt. John McEny AKA Sarge To say Sgt. John McEny is one of Heroica's most charismatic individuals is an understatement. Rarely sober, and always ready to pounce in on others conversations, Sarge is certainly one of the most intriguing heroes in the hall. His past is still rather murky, but we get a clear image of a potential tragic hero, with a his fuel for alcoholism possibly a result of when he was either evicted for roguish behavior or forced out of the army with the loss of his leg. Another thing about Sarge, his peg leg. Sarge is one of the first heroes to have a clear physical disadvantage, his peg leg. However, that doesn't stop him from being a talented fighter with his Demonic Scissors, and Peg leg of Hastening. Sarge is an intriguing character, and a great lesson in how to role play drunkenness properly, while still being one cool customer. --- Alright, Karie's turn! Quote
The Legonater Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Karie Alderflask Karie is by far one of the most beat-down members of Heroica. While not the unluckiest, she definitely has had a line of humiliations, from being controlled by the Apprentice to being turned into a newt (she got better). Perhaps what sets Alderflask apart from the group the most, is how her wit and charm remains despite the never-ending line of disgrace. Throwing another twist in her life is her secret relation to the Catburglar, a high-ranking member of the Wolfgang. She has shown to be an adept thief, attempting even to steal from Guts, by far one of the great heroes of Heroica. While her past largely remains the past, the future will clearly be an interesting one indeed... Quote
Kintobor Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Hehe! That was well written! Unfortunately, I can't write Dyric's since I've already gone, but it's only a matter of time until someone comes along... Any minute now... Quote
Scorpiox Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Dyric Rone Dyric is one of Heroica's most tragic characters, leading a past unfortunate and cruel enough to shake most individuals to the core. When he first arrived at the hall, he was rather tempremental and emotional, but has since grown through experiance to be a calm and collected individual. He isn't afraid to have a laugh and a joke, but is more than aware of the fine line between professionalism and being a regular thug. Dyric also remains one of Heroica's few unwavering perfect good characters, earning the moniker 'Assassin of the Light. Rone always strives to do the right thing and support the oppressed, no matter how this behaviour makes life difficult for himself. Some of his greatest quests have involved tricks designed to confuse the heroes, but Dyric always seems to find out what the good path is. Edited May 28, 2013 by Scorpiox Quote
The Legonater Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Great write-up, Scorpiox! It's pretty faithful to the character. Quote
Flare Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'm eager to write out a write-up of a character but am waiting for one that I know better... Great summaries so far! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Haldor Skovgaard Haldor is a very interesting character I think. From the cold north, at the same time he does, and he does not adhere to the stereotypical "Nord" type. Haldor is very proud and honorable, mostly, but he is also a forgiving and warm person. I think Haldor's loyalty is mostly with his friends, his fellow heroes. His run-in with the gnome girl while he had a relationship with Jess, and the subsequent things that happened around that is still one of the funniest things to happen in Heroica. Over time, he has changed from the exiled cleric, to a strong shaman that knows what he wants, and who he is. Quote
Scorpiox Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 That's an intriging point of view, thanks! Now, who dares to tackle Guts? Quote
Rumble Strike Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Guts Holla Guts is, more than anything, a do-er. Although he has been known to sit in the hall and talk theology, he prefers to be in the thick of the action. A hardy, fearless and resourceful hero, little is known about his past, and he keeps his private life just that, private. Very useful to have in a fight, Guts has been on many Quests for Heroica and has managed to acquire many artefacts to strike fear into the hearts of QMs his enemies. His relationship with the Elven Shaman Nerwen is perhaps the most striking thing about him. They have shared many adventures and have a begrudging respect for each other. Shoker86 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I'm waiting for familiar characters. Good job so far Quote
CMP Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Tarn Valco Adopted into a monastery at a young age, Tarn isn't by any means a typical barbarian. With the heart and morals of a monk but the capabilities of a warrior, he's not afraid to fight for justice and honor in the world, yet at the same time also tries to be diplomatic in attempts to keep the peace. Although the definition of a noble warrior, Tarn has recently fallen on harder times in the heat of battle, and has thus turned to the ways of a Raider to make the best effort he can to be an asset to his team. Despite his obvious heroic attitude, he also has a tendency to find himself smitten quite often. Unfulfilled crushes include Ellaria Arbour, Tesni Hightribe, Ella Septrine of Dastan, and various ninja bandits...but it doesn't keep him from fighting for the safety of his friends and of the world. Bricksandparts Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 By the way, since I haven't recently been able to follow many to any quests, anyone can feel free to review Johon. I could probably do Sylph, being one of his quest hosts and on a 6 month quest In character with him. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 By the way, since I haven't recently been able to follow many to any quests, anyone can feel free to review Johon. I could probably do Sylph, being one of his quest hosts and on a 6 month quest In character with him. You're only supposed to review the hero of the last member to do a review. So in this case, Atramor. Quote
Masked Builder Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Atramor Gibbin Atramor entered the hall with a strange companion, a chicken. On quest two he tried to develop his "badass lock picking skills," but didn't get very far. A rogue turned witch, he's a no-nonsense man with his eyes on the objective, though always wary of unexpected traps. His dislike for chaos led to his helping in bringing down Wren. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Also, I'm no expert on this roleplaying thing ( ), but aren't these supposed to be analyses of characters and less so summaries of their Heroica careers? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I know that, but I'm saying I don't know that much about many of the characters, so I was saying anyone can feel free to review Johon as well as the previous person. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Note: I tend not to follow quests that I'm not on too closely. Beyond peeking in to look at the pretty pictures, I don't follow them. It's just a personal preference - not meant to be an insult to QMs - I don't want to confuse player and character knowledge. Ergo, I can only comment on what I've seen, which may be some crucial character development. Forgive me if this seems somewhat Spartan. Now then... Atramor Gibbin The term 'bad-megablocks' is bandied around quite a lot these days, and Atramor is one of the those to whom I believe it can be applied to. An ex-pirate with a demonic fowl as a pet, Atramor is one of the more distinct and original characters in the game, quite a feat considering he was the first hero through the door. Very steadfast in his opinion, Atramor seems like he will follow his instinct to the grave, and proudly admit that he stood up and took leadership when it was needed, even if the outcome wasn't great. His dedication to his opinions has lead to great character moments, like when his willingness to stop Wren led him to nominate himself for a suicide mission. Innocents have died from him, but they've been sacrifices for the greater good. The fact he was listed for perma-death also shows how great his sacrifice could have been. His thick skin has allowed him to have waves of abuse roll of him (very accurate, and correct abuse mind ) roll off him. Despite his cold exterior, he has been able to rally several friends, both amongst heroes (most Wren Questers, Boomingham, etc) and NPC's (Wren hunters, Ella, etc). His combination of gear has lead him to be formidable in battles, as well as out. All in all, one of my favourite characters. Just a shame he'll be burned at the steak soon. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Thanks Pie, that's a very good summary of Tarn, I appreciate it Quote
CMP Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Thanks Pie, that's a very good summary of Tarn, I appreciate it He's a really interesting character to write about. It's funny how much of a difference a class can make. If Tarn's personality was on a Knight, it'd be downright typical...but as a Barbarian, it really sets him apart. Note: I tend not to follow quests that I'm not on too closely. I was afraid it's either miss something out, or have Thothwicks prejudices bleed into my analysis! Just noitced, Masked Builder did one whilst I was typing. Sorry all! Quote
