Posted June 1, 201212 yr http://brickfanatics.co.uk/afol-shopping-day/ I've just seen this over on BrickFanatics.co.uk For an hour on Sunday morning the UK Lego Stores at Bluewater,Westfield,Stratford,Liverpool and Milton Keynes (and the Copenhagen store) will be opening early especialy for AFOL's with a 15% discount to tempt us! Text below borrowed from Brick Fanatics: Some awesome news for UK and Denmark AFOLs. DrDave Watford the Brickset LEGO Ambassador has informed us that there will be an AFOL shopping day for the UK (& for Copenhagen….) on Sunday 3rd June. Basically, the Brand Stores will open an hour earlier than usual as above and only AFOLs will be admitted during this time (there’ll be someone on the door letting people in and out). The discounts will only be in force for the first hour; once that hour passes, the stores will be open to all, and the discount will be over. Where & When Bluewater, Liverpool, Brighton, Cardiff, Milton Keynes 10am – 11am Westfield, Stratford 11am – 12 mid-day Copenhagen 5.00pm – 6.00pm What is the deal? AFOLs will get an exclusive 15% discount on all articles in the store except for already discounted articles, gift certificates and books. This is only available for consumers, i.e. no retail (reselling not allowed) and hence items will only be sold in amounts for end consumers. Please be aware that Exclusive sets are limited to 5 per person. You cannot reserve any products in advance. So it will probably be a trip to Milton Keynes on Sunday to pick up a Sopwith Camel, another Grand Emporium and they may well have some new Star Wars sets on display, as they have appeared on Shop at Home today. My credit card is quivering already!! Apologies if this is in the wrong place but I thought it should be brought to your attention. Calv Edited June 1, 201212 yr by Calv
June 1, 201212 yr This is great news I was planning on going to Milton Keynes this weekend anyway. Not sure if my wallet could take another beating after the Hulk promo and the TC-14 promo . Still I can always get something small or try to raise some funds for the weekend.
June 1, 201212 yr Damn, just bought the camel today, and R2 last week. Already have a fair backlog but might be tempted by a town hall and/or a second pet shop Do you need any kind of accreditation, or just being a grown-up is enough? And would it be bad form to return my unopened camel and instantly rebut one with the discount . Edited June 1, 201212 yr by mrklaw

According to some of the comments on the Brick Fanatics page a VIP card should do, and you need to be over 18. Other than that, just turn up. Calv
June 1, 201212 yr Dammit! In Liverpool for Saturday only Ah well, nice to see Lego looking after the AFOLs
June 1, 201212 yr @Calv, thanks for spreading the word via my site. I was told of this via Brickish. So long as you have a VIP card you should be ok. In the past you just knock on the door and they let you in. I was going to go to Liverpool but what I would save I would spend on petrol getting there, so no point.
June 1, 201212 yr Wow, what a neat idea. You mean I could go in and rummage through the build a minifig bins without looking like a weirdo? BRILIANT!
June 1, 201212 yr I'd save about £40 buying town hall and pet shop, but on second thoughts London will be crazy busy on Sunday so I'll sit this one out I think
June 2, 201212 yr After sitting down and working out the best saving for me i I've decided to get the quinjet. It's the last marvel set I need and it will cost me about £54.95 with £5 of VIP points and 15% discount.
June 2, 201212 yr I will be at Stratford tomorrow, aiming to get the CUUSOO Parts Pack x 2 and whatever's on the PAB wall.
June 3, 201212 yr Author Well, after a long day yesterday driving a 50 year old bus around the West Midlands I failed to get up in time so didn't make the event. Did anybody else make it, and how did it go? Calv
June 3, 201212 yr I was thinking about it but decided the 100 mile round trip, plus parking was not worth the 15% discount. I went to my local Argos (2 min drive free parking) instead and picked up the Cheap Tie fighter for £35.36 and Battle of Naboo for £15.99. Then with the free £5 voucher bought another Battle of Naboo for under £11! Over £101 worth of lego for £62.34, now that's a proper discount!
June 3, 201212 yr Went to Milton Keynes this morning and got the Quinjet for £54. £11 discount and £5 VIP points. Lets just say I was very happy
