Tanotrooper Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 (edited) why? think again: the minifig hand fits better on the new ones, because it goes with its 2 fingers (:p) into the cut out triangle, instead of a less strong connection with the older type of musket. I have to check these myself, although I'm sure about those black star wars muskets. I saw 11 imperial soldiers on bricklink from germany once for 4$ or something, and thought: "I have to buy these before Bonaparte does". Now my french army counts 33 men... And a cuirassier without armour, head or helmet :p BTW, I have way more muskets than soldiers :D TT Edited July 19, 2007 by Tanotrooper Quote
Dreamweb Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 All of my muskets are in old brown... I'd have to search more carefully to see how many new muskets I have, but so far, after getting a short glimpse at my Lego, I found only 1, the rest of them are the old ones. Here's a picture of the old one and the new one that I took this morning. Quote
Sir Norman Ray Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 In my honest opinion, I couldn't care less about these designs really. It's still the offspring of a blunderbuss and a musket. If it looks like it shoots, issue them to the troops! I do use the black muskets though as rifles, cos I dun feel right bringing in Western rifles into the era, seeing as the only real difference between a musket and rifle in appearance was the size of the gun (rifles were shorter I think) and the bayonets. (Sword bayonets, for the freaking win!) Quote
