Dreamweb Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 As I mentioned before, I believe Germany deservers to win the tournament. Their yesterday's game against Greece was outstanding. But I think the two remaining quarter-finals are the two more interesting ones, or so they seem. In tonight's game I will support France, but I think Spain is more likely to win. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Yep, I think Germany deserve to win this year. It was really surprising that the Greeks were able to score those two goals. The first was down to some slack defending though by Hummels and Boateng. All of Germany's goals were exceptionally brilliant and I was pleased that Loew gave Klose, Reus, and Schurrle a chance. I think they justified their inclusion in the game. I guess we'll have to see who he'll put on in their next game. The Greek goalie was not magificent though. Quote
CaptainCRO Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I think Greece played very well. Germany is just a bettter team and Greece couldn't do much. But Mesut Ozil...man what a great player. And he's so young too. I really wanted him to score yesterday because he definitely deserved it. Tonight I am cheering for France, but I think Spain has better chances. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Viva España!!! It was a great match, one of the best in the tournament so far. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Viva España!!! It was a great match, one of the best in the tournament so far. Really? I found it quite dull to be honest. Spain just kicked it around for 90 minutes; France was pretty powerless. Quote
prateek Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Viva España!!! It was a great match, one of the best in the tournament so far. Definitely the worst match so far... Quote
CaptainCRO Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Definitely the worst match so far... I was surprised at how powerless France was. I hoped Benzema would do something( I am a Real fan) but Ribery was much better. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 I'm looking forward to England and Italy tomorrow. I don't have a favorite, I just want an exciting game. Quote
Larrynautik Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 The Spain-France match yesterday was totally boring. Even if I'm french, I can't deny that our national team was without energy against dynamic spanish players. It's really deceiving, and I will lapidate their team bus when they'll come back here (humor) Spain deserves its victory and was clearly stronger than us . But confronting teams like Germany could be way harder ! Quote
Brickadeer Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) I find watching Spain taking control of a game always fascinating. Xabi Alonso had one chance to score, and I think it was a brilliant display of determination (he wanted that goal) and ability, a combination I really, really appreciate. Their defense simply vaporised the French ability to create chances. I think the Spanish game exposed all of France's weaknesses, while France still doesn't function as a team. Palathadric Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Viva España!!! It was a great match, one of the best in the tournament so far. Please tell me you're joking. Please tell me you're joking! That was the most boring match of the century! France, one shot on goal. Spain three shots on goal not including the goals themselves. Boring, boring, boring, all the way through. I thought at least Spain would play well, but man was I wrong. I feel bad for the fans who bought tickets to that game. What a way to waste money! I hope Spain play better against Portugal and that that game won't be as boring as this one. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 80 minutes through England vs Italy. Hart has made some great saves (especially when he blocked three shots in quick succession). Both teams have had some nice passes and shots, but Rooney has wasted far too many chances so far. They definatly should have subbed on Carroll in place of St. Wayne the Rooney instead of Welbeck. Go England! Quote

Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I've changed my mind, Rooney is appaulling. England could have won this by now. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I've changed my mind, Rooney is appaulling. England could have won this by now. They also could have easily lost it. It will be an interesting end for sure. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) Saved by the offside rule. This is still a fairly even match that could go either way. EDIT: Nooooo! Not the penalties! *covers eyes* Edited June 24, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote
Sisco Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 EDIT: Nooooo! Not the penalties! *covers eyes* Oooh... Looks like the penalties screwed England over again. Sorry, bud. Quote
Brickadeer Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) The result is what I expected. I didn't expect that it would come to penalties, though. This is still a fairly even match that could go either way. I don't think it was "fairly even". Italy was more active, generated far more chances, had 74 % ball possession, and simply was the better team. It was a pretty interesting match, though. I'm really looking forward for Italy - Germany Today, Germany never was able to defeat Italy in a major tournament. But again, I think that was true for Spain and France as well Edited June 24, 2012 by Brickadeer Quote
Roger Rabbit Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) Out in the quarters on penalties once more. Expected, but it still stings. Sod this, bring on Wimbledon and the Olympics!! Edited June 24, 2012 by Roger Rabbit Quote
gedren_y Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I was for Italy today, but I'm for Germany in the semis. Cascadia Cup is on now, and the Sounders have conceded two goals to the Timbers. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 On behalf of me and the the rest of my family i would like to thank Italy,Now we can watch the news and not hear about people over hyping England. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Too bad that today's game had to be solved in penalties, I don't like them Quote
prateek Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Italy definitely deserved it. I'm confused why Welbeck started though. He hasn't done anything other than that fluke goal. Andy Carroll would've been more effective, which was apparent when he came on. Quote
jedi1984 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) Italy definitely deserved it. Yes... but for me it has been 120 minutes of pain, starting from De Rossi's shot at 3'. And for Thursday the only question is... How many goals is Germany going to do? GO ITALY!!! Edited June 25, 2012 by jedi1984 Quote
Mr Man Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Um come on er... Germany? Not that big a loss I don't even watch football, but it does give me control of the TV now though . Quote
