Bilbo Baggins Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Spain played awesome!! Only they can beat a team in a Final Match 4 to 0. Quote
Holodoc Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I actually didn't want to watch the final after the semi's... But I did and was reminded of exactly the last match Italy vs. Germany. But this time Italy played like Germany - and Spain well deserved won! Congrats to the best team! Quote
Duck Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Spain looked unstoppable last night. In my opinion they never hit fifth gear at all during the tournament until the final - then they showed their class. Even Mata got in on the act in his five minutes of the tournament! Spain showed that they were a class above Italy, and above the rest of us. Even if Germany hadn't blown it against Italy, I think they'd still have lost if Spain were in the form they were last night. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable tournament. England possibly did as well, if not better than expected, and with no expectation to win the tournament, I was able to watch it with much less bias than usual. Roll on the Olympic football! Quote

Same for me, I didn't think we could even pass the first round, and italy played way better than expected, so it's been a really nice Euro tournament for me... Quote
Palathadric Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Yeah, it makes it far more enjoyable to watch a game without being biased...if it's a decent game. I really felt bad for Italy at the end though. Again, though, we see the importance of scoring the first goal. As Italy did look quite threatening before Spain scored. Do any of you know who is qualified for the Olympic football? How do the qualifications for Olympic football work anyway? I don't know how I don't know this, but somehow I don't. Quote

Check this, it's in italian but the names are clear http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcio_ai_Giochi_della_XXX_Olimpiade Maybe there's an english page on wikipedia, too Edited July 2, 2012 by jedi1984 Quote
Palathadric Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Thanks! I understood it well, and I also found the English version, don't know why I didn't look it up earlier. And, yes! Switzerland is in! Woot! Woot! Switzerland for the win ...alright, I admit, this time around I'm biased. I hope Shaqiri is still young enough to play as one of their normal squad players and that they will pull Alexandre Frei out of retirement for this. ...Or maybe they should just keep on a young sqad. EDIT: Well, apparently this won't happen, as Frei is not on the 50-man squad. Ah well. Still, they have Shaqiri, Xhaka, Fabien Frei. What more could they want? Ceroknight Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That was a good game, both teams played well but Italy came all that way 4 nothing Quote
