de Gothia Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 (edited) Finally home again. Back in Avalonia. de Gothia travels to Albion to report for Artorious Rex, the great leader of Avalonia. They meet in a small alley in the great Pearl City, The light of Historica. Wanted to build something quick with my new Bulkparts! Quite happy with the ground. C&C most welcome as always! Hyler Talliwell Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Those masonry bricks look fantastic as cobblestone ground. Great little scene. Quote
Maxim I Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 The floor looks indeed awesome!! But I am not sure about those round 1x1 round tiles on it Is this the first time I see A.Rex without his helmet?? Quote
gedren_y Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Wonderful, simple little vig with loads of subtle detail. And yes, the brick surface is quite appealing, but in my case it is very familiar. Gainesville, FL (the closest big city to me) has lots of old brick streets and some newer brick cross-walks, but most of those are set with a diagonal pattern. Quote
mephistopheles Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I love that right window there. Great use of the dark brown scopes! Quote
Niku Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I love the balcony and of course the floor. Great details on the right window and on the base, I like the pattern used. Quote
Axis600 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Ah, so THAT'S what he looks like... Everyone else has pretty much said what I wanted to say about the floor. But I also really like the two buildings. Quote
kabel Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 great little build. As everybody else I like the balcony and ouf course the floor is just awesome! Quote
purpleparadox Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 That's really really good. I wish I had more parts so I could build like this. As everyone else said, I love the balcony and the floor. Nice parts usage on the "brick" bricks! Quote
ZCerberus Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Sweet. Great work with the bricks on the floor Love the sand green and reddish brown color combo too. Awesome work! Quote
Si-MOCs Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 de Gothia, I think you just won the "best use of brick-brick" Brilliant. ... and I guess the rest of your build is pretty nice too. Quote
ZCerberus Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 de Gothia, I think you just won the "best use of brick-brick" That sounds like a member title to me... Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Excellent work as always The wall details work nicely, and the bricks work nicely, from the first pic I wasn't sure what the floor was made of. Very original Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Great work on the floor, you beat me to it! Your sense of colors texture and layout is great and your photo quality is really wonderful! Quote
de Gothia Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks for the kind word! When I started the moc I thought it would be located inside and with dk brown tiles. But then my LUGBULK arrived and those great pieces screamed to be used. And I agree that sand green and reddish brown works very well! Now I´m eager to see what the next challenge is about! I´m thinking of building some snowier mocs in the future... Quote
Jason Cicchini Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Is this the first time I see A.Rex without his helmet?? Ah, so THAT'S what he looks like... I do beleve this is the first of him being unmasked. I can't seem to find the story that preluded the third chapter, but I could have sworn Artorius was without a helmet in the meeting room. Everyone else has pretty much said what I wanted to say about the floor. But I also really like the two buildings. +1 on the floor. Looks fantastic. The clever little architecture bits really give the scene life. Nice work! Quote

Legonardo Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Hold on a second - what is this LUGBULK thing you are talking about? Quote
de Gothia Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Lugbulk is a something that is offered to Adult Lego communties known as LUG´s. Lego is offering to buy pieces to a reduced price. So you have to be a member to a LUG to get this offer. Quote
