Just thought I would post some pics of my collection, some what of an obsession really.

"I'm an AFOL and proud of it" :classic:

Have not ventured into MOCs yet. Have a couple of ideas though (plan to start out simple).

You're going to need more shelf space! How many years did it take you to get all of these?

I have been collecting for a fairly long time now. Not all Technic, but that is mostly what I am into these days.

The non Technic sets are more for my daughter to play with. Saves the others from being attacked if I have some sacrificial sets as it were. :classic:

I guess it is all about getting hold of those sets I looked at in the shops as a child and could not afford them. Now I can, it is more of a case of trying to find them.

Not all the sets are genuine, just the idea of trying to pay NIB price *huh* .

I was able to get hold of several unsorted lots of Lego and from that put togeather the various sets hidden in the piles of bits.

I have a tendency to prefer the older studded construction as it is what I was brought up on you could say.

Born in 1977, the year Technic appeared, also makes me lean towards that style.

I do like some of the studless models, but it has to be something special. Friends and family also perodically get me various models as well. They know me well.

I do like the Mog, and as can see I had to obtain the parts for the B-model seperatly so I could keep the entire set as one. Makes it a bit problamatic to display considering it becomes so big with the plough on the front.

I would have to say my pride and joy of the collection would mave to be hard to split between 8880 - Super Car and 8480 - Space Shuttle (both genuine sets).

As to what I am missing, well there is a fair bit to go, my goal is to own most of the studded sets, not overly interested in the universal sets. I do own several though.

The collection is very lacking around the late 1980s and 1990s. I am hoping to get the Air Tech Claw rig soon.

Anyway just thought I would post some images of my collection, I do love seeing the fantastic MoCs others come up with, but it is also nice to see some of the old.

Jamie

You have a lot of the same sets I do.

One day when I move to a bigger house I will build all my sets and display them like this.. For now they live in containers..

It is nice to see that your white parts all look so white. I have seen others that are not so well looked after going a yellow colour..

wow, the unimog is big! Makes the 8043 excavator and 8860 chassis look tiny by comparison, and they are big sets in their own right.

what model number is the shark? Thats something my daughter would love.

4506 Deep Sea Predators.

Hi

show me your collection, and i will tell you how old you are ;)

Without telling us you are from '77, i could tell you that too. I am from '76 and you have many sets i had - memories :)

Do you know the setnumber of the yellow technic/space truck in the last picture?

Nice collection. How do you keep it dust free?

I don't, I have to get a rag out every now and again, or gives me an excuse to build alternative models.

Its actually not Technic. It is 744 - Universal set.

I normally have it built as the windmill (quite large).

Was actually given to me when I was a young child (about the year 1988), lots of memories with this one.

4506 Deep Sea Predators.

The angler fish is a bit of a giggle, it has glow in the dark teeth.

My daughter loves the shark, we went to an aquarium to see some sharks and she loved them, so I had to build the lego shark when I came across it.

Nice collection there. Don't want to start a debate here  but 8880 still looks the most beautiful of all sets, seeing it next to soooo many other sets just confirms it for me.

I think I would have to agree with you

This debate has been had a number of times and I think those that love 8880 will never be swayed on their love of it

Hey I'm a child of the 80's, growing up with drool cars like the Countach, Starion, DeLorean; of course I like cars with sharpe edges :classic:

Really nice collection. And beyond Technic, if I'm not mistaken, there's a 6929 Starfleet Voyager on the topmost shelf? One of my all-time favourite space-theme sets...!

Well spotted :classic: Its not in the greatest condition. The decorated bricks are very, very faded. I will just say it has been played with alot when I was young.

Next to it is 6780 XT Starship (light and sound)

Not fond of the Mars Mission sets. These were just in the unsorted lots I obtained.

While ordering bits to build up some Technic sets, I only needed a few bits to complete them.

Once I need more room for Technic, these will come down.

Jamie

nice, if I was to do that with all my sets, I would need something a bit bogger than that, especially if i include all the bionicle sets!

8880 is on the way to me at the moment, so I will finally be able to confirm whether it is really as good as everyone says it is.
