GDomino Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I sure i wont have to do something similar to the kind i ordered. I would probably mess it up. You won't have to alter your Crazy Crawler tires. Just a little of fanagling to get the beads fitted perfectly. They even fit the new BOSS wheels I tried it yesterday. Maybe I'll post a pic later. Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Please do. It'll be a few weeks before mine arrives but i'll keep the pic for reference. BTW what beads. I thought those was on the original rc-style wheels, not the tires. But i don't really know anything about that. Quote

It's the rubber sleeve on madjelly's pic (previous post you commented about) that he was trimming for better fit around the wheel/rim's outside grooves. Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Ok. Here is wikipedia on the subject on beadlock. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beadlock Beadlock wheels are recommended for the third party tires i've seen but before this i didn't know what the heck beadlocks are or why i should care. Well worth reading. In short beadlocks as the name implies are something used to clamp the beads on a tire to the wheel so it doesn't come of. Not needed so much on road as off. Quote
Trawler Man Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Thanks for this! I got two sets of these, along with a set of 4 black 44772 rims. I'm pretty freakin' stoked...lol Sorry to bump this old topic, but i was wondering whether these Team Losi tires, http://www.amazon.co... Tire, Blue (2) , will fit on 44772 rims without glue? Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Well is looks like the 3-5 week shipping time need to be changed a bit because the tires arrived today, just one week after i ordered them. Still it will be some time before i have something to mount them on. I guess i could put them on my 9398 but it will still be a few hours before i'm done building it. I sure didn't think it would be this fast but i don't mind at all. Quote

I like the way they look on my modded 9398. Quote

I just put a set of Losi Rock Claws on all black rims on my 41999. Personally, i love it. I can't wait to stick 'em on my 9398, when i get it and build it tomorrow. Here's a picture with them on, and there's two more in spoiler bar. Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Wow your boss crawler looks extra amazing from that angle! xD Quote
Tubby Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I like the way those tyres deform under load, they're foam filed as well aren't they? Is there a link to where you can get them from in this thread somewhere? I googled for them but they seem to come in a range of sizes and I'm not sure which ones I need. Quote
skriblez Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 http://store.rc4wd.com/Crazy-Krawler-19-Tires_p_671.html if i'm not mistaken these are the tiers Quote
Trawler Man Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) Wow your boss crawler looks extra amazing from that angle! xD Thank you! It does look fantastic. I like the way those tyres deform under load, they're foam filed as well aren't they? Is there a link to where you can get them from in this thread somewhere? I googled for them but they seem to come in a range of sizes and I'm not sure which ones I need. Here you go, Tubby. They are currently $5.87 for a set of two from this seller via Amazon. They shipped very fast. They are foam filled, yes. The rubber is so soft, that this deformation happens anyway, which i think looks awesome. They are insanely grippy and make a perfect fit for the 44772 rim. http://www.amazon.co...0?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://store.rc4wd.c...ires_p_671.html if i'm not mistaken these are the tiers Those are cool, but they aren't the tires shown on my pictures above. z3_2drive Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I just went and bought from that seller as well I've seen videos and they perform really well Quote
VKTechnic Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Bought some of these tires, and been working on a mini BOSS to go along with them . Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 While fitting the crazy krawler tires to the rims i decided to check the weight. Here is a table showing the tires and rims measured. crazy krawler: 69 gr 84 with rims 44772: 15 gr power puller: 182 gr new: 16 gr As you can see the power pullers are more than twice as heavy as the third party tires. I also measured the new rims and they weigh 16 gr compared to the old ones 15. BTW i fitted one of the CK on a newer rim at it looks to be working. There was another thread regarding the new rims not working with third party tires and i don't think that all third party tires are affected by the change. But i haven't and wont at the moment test drive them. Maybe something changes then. Quote

efferman Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 it seems that they are 1.9" tires, and with a width of 36mm they should fit properly on the three hole rims of 9398/8110 Quote
Rockbrick Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I recently ordered these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141010516692 I hope they fit.... they are 4.25 x 1.45 x 1.9" Quote
