Legostone Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I just stumbled over a fischertechnik tire wrapped onto a lego rim in a second hand store. Noticing it fit almost perfectly I went and checked if the bigger tires fit just as well. They do fit quite well on the 43.2x26mm rims. Third Party tires by Legostone, auf Flickr top row: old lego tire, fischertechnik tire with lego rim, fischertechnik tire with fischertechnik rim. Big tires second row: first and second: fischertechnik tire on a lego rim, fischertechnik tire on fischertechnik rim. The LEGO rims for the smaller tires are a small bit to wide but still work, the bigger ones fit perfectly. Should be these: small tires There is also a bigger variant for the small rims, I don`t own that one though. mid size on small rims Quote
tduby Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I like the real tractor tire look those tires have hopefully lego will someday have a tire that looks like a real tractor tire Quote
Freekysch Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Hey guys, I have a question, do these or these wheels fit the rims on the 42030 ? I want some soft wheels to replace the original ones. Many thanks ! Edited November 24, 2015 by Freekysch Quote
SevenStuds Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hey guys, I have a question, do these or these wheels fit the rims on the 42030 ? I want some soft wheels to replace the original ones. Many thanks ! I believe the two references use the same tires, and they are also the same size as the ones Efferman has in his first post of this topic. So yes they will fit on the wheels. Whether the 108mm outer diameter fits within the wheel arches of the 42030 is an entirely different question. Quote

JJ2 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 What do you guys think of these tires? Are they good for crawling? Quote
nerdsforprez Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 To be honest, you have to be a little careful...... they really don't look the best for crawling. "off-road" in the RC world doesn't necessarily mean crawling. Lots of RC off-road trucks are for racing, and therefore traction is important they don't have huge nobs because they also have to have speed. These tires aren't the best for crawling. Look at the nobs. Not the best. Better to look for tires that specify they are for crawlers rather than just "off-road" -- after just a few seconds of browsing, at least IMO, these look like better tires for crawling.... http://store.rc4wd.com/Trail-Buster-Single-Scale-19-Tires_p_717.html Quote
JJ2 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Thanks nerdforprez for the advice. I was worried about the "nobs" not being big enough to grab the rocks as needed. I have found some others on Ebay What do you think? Quote

Rockbrick Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) I got some cheap set of 4 from ebay china - they took a long time to come but were great fit - copies of ackermans no doubt however over time the rubber has become 'dusty' and the tyres mark the floor, walls, hands a lot so only for outdoor use at the moment. Dafgek81 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I have a question about the wheels for the loaders M-Longer has made, the Liebherr L580 and Volvo L250G. What rims should I use, the rims that are part of set 42030 or the rims used in de 8265?. Efferman has made beautiful rims in both sizes. I have to buy third party tires to make it look realistic, the ones used by TLG are rubbish. In real life, the wheels on loaders are about 50/50 rim/tire. What are your opinions on this?? Quote
SevenStuds Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Here is my contribution to finding more 3'rd party tires, which I'd like to share with you guys. This has been on top of my list since I first started reading this thread a while back. Thanks Effe! More photos and comments for each tire on my Facebook page (below in signature). Legostone Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 How is the qualuty of tires? are they more sticky than LEGO? Rubber or plastic? Do they slip on rims under the load? Sorry for replying this late, I seem to have missed your question about those tires. The smaller ones do slip a bit, but the bigger ones fit perfectly, even a bit better than the normal lego tires I believe - the few I have tend to slip more on the rims I have available. The tires don't require any modifications to fit either. Quote

Just saw that review in my youtube feed, Thanks for properly reviewing those! I guess that answers my question I had after the video;D How did you get them in russia though? Did you order them from the shop I linked or from somewhere else, considering how high the shipping costs to other countries are from there? Quote
TinkerBrick Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Fellow builders, I am looking for 3rd party tires as an alternative for the ultra expensive Model Team Black Cat Tire 68.8 x 24 / BL# 32003. I am just not willing to pay 17€ for a tire (the price for the rims not included). An ideal solution would be a a 69-70mm tire fitting the Wheel 43.2mm D. x 18mm. By chance, did anybody ran into a possible product? Quote
Fabian Lolker Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Hi everyone. I have a question. Where can I buy these wheels? .... cheap of course I didn`t find anything. Please I need help. Quote
Blakbird Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 How can anyone answer that when you don't even tell us what they are? Quote
