xtremegoogler Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 I am a bit curious how the tow truck and van look next to a typical 6-wide vehicle. As you can see, the SUV has its wheels on the white border tile, so two of these vehicles would not fit. The Indiana Jones vehicle in the background, which is also 6-wide, fits just fine. The SUV fits on the elevator, but just barely, you have to make sure the rearview mirrors don't hit anything. It puts quite a strain on the rope when going up by the way. And speaking of the elevator, I found out that the reason it slips a bit (without a car on it, going down) is not because of the rope, but because of the tires on the back, a little bit too much traction. lightningtiger Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 "It puts quite a strain on the rope when going up by the way." you say.....I can believe it, seriously I hope we don't have rope breakages and a lot of crying by kids playing with it and breaking the lift rope ? Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 So does anyone know when this set will be released in the USA? Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Built the garage last night, totally AWESOME and the play features take me back to when I was a kid ! A very solid build, good idea to use 1x3 tiles as locking pieces between the floors....though I do still miss not having a jack to help the mechanic change tyres ! I highly recommend buying this set....of course I was lucky paying only 64.50 for it - marked down because the box was damaged ! Brick On ! Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Thank you for the great review! This is my most anticipated set of the year-I am a huge Classic Town fan and this set reminds me of Metro Park & Service Tower from 1989(USA) The car wash, lift, gas pumps and nice assortment of vehicles all updated and scaled up nicely for a modern CITY layout! Although I'm not sure if I would have included a security booth rather than a little shop or ticket booth near the entrance, I suppose kids will like having an officer on duty. I'm not opposed to the structure being too tall as I have tall skyscrapers in my layout, but yes, it will dwarf the TRU set! I'm really happy with the newer CITY sets and how nice they all look together and this one is no exception. Waiting impatiently for a US release! Quote
Johan J Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Great review. Looks like a great set for KIDS. One of these sets for the kid, and a modular for the AFOL (you know, like us posting here). Most negative points are stuff I (probably) wouldn't think about at 7-12. I'll try to build a 6394 instead. Quote
mathewos Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I asked when this set is going to be on shelves in the US and the LEGO S@H person on facebook said in August along with the new hospital. Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 If it's August at the LEGO store, I suspect it will start showing up soon at whichever retailer is going to carry this (TRU?). Quote
Jay Sathe Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I asked when this set is going to be on shelves in the US and the LEGO S@H person on facebook said in August along with the new hospital. I asked at my local LEGO Store, and they said probably next week, but definitely in July... weird. Quote
Darthluke824 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Nice review! It reminds me of the funny scene in Mr. Bean! ( .) Quote
