mobricki Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I'm a hydraulic cylinder mechanic for Cleveland Brothers in Pennsylvania at my primary job and a janitor at my night job at Sam's Club. Interesting combination I would say. Quote
Repeter Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 This was an interesting read, both confirming there are a lot of engineers interested in Lego and showing that Lego is fun for anyone--even a movie critic, lol! I was a soldier for 10 years, but for the past decade, I have worked in a much...prettier field. I am a fashion photographer for one of the US's larger clothing retailer. Most of the time, when a sexy model in lingerie graces my set, I'd rather be building something out of Legos. I've worked in this candy store for too long. I hope to apply my trade to Legos, starting this weekend. I have a number of MOCs to photo and post here, which I hope to have done by Sunday. Quote
rpmac91 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I'm in school for Electrical Engineering and Piano Performance, and almost done with both. I start my masters in electrical engineering this fall (or possibly this spring as some of the classes I'm taking might count towards it). Quote
paanjang16 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I'm a senior mechanical engineer in charge of mechanical services in buildings. As a consultant, I design, call tender, oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical services like air-con, ventilation, plumbing, fire-fighting, gas, lifts, escalators etc in new buildings. Quite a challenging profession but the rewards are great when the building is complete and all the systems inside are in order Quote
tomdobs55 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm a delivery dispatcher for a mail order pharmacy (Omnicare) that provides medication to various nursing homes and Rehab facilities in eastern and central Massachusetts. I'm currently trying to get on the fire department, but it's not looking so hot at the moment. Quote
Ballast Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I work as chief officer at sea for a company that is specialized in ship delivery. We transport ships on their own keel and under their own power all over the world. Last year I spend over 270 days abroad, which is kinda ruining my hobby. Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) I'm at college but I'm a Informatic engineer. Edited January 25, 2013 by The Player Nº1 Quote
brodey1 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I work part time processing paperwork for my Dad's company. It's not much, but I'm still in college, and it helps pay for my Lego Quote
shadowhearth Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I am the only one, who finds it funny that OP worked in Christian children camp and is banned from Lego forums? :) Anyway, I think I would be the one who should not be near Lego if we talk about proffesions lol. I am a chef!!! I am huge in to cars, PC hardware, Lego. People at work constantly ask me to fix computers at work and they get very surprised when I tell them how big I am in such stuff. They ask me after: why I am a chef at all lol. Quote
snaillad Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I work as a field engineer for 'probably' the largest ISP in the UK doing various jobs. Please don't ask me why your internet is slow Quote
Joff_Draeven Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm a Cancer Screening Officer. I test samples for evidence of cancer, then assist people in fighting it. Quote

dandexter Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I work as a trainee structural steel detailer. Been there around 10 months now, good job. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) I graduated from college in 2008 with a degree in Geography and a concentration in Geographic Information Systems. I started out in Mechanical Engineering, but the math was killing me, so I switched degrees. I worked for several years transporting wounded soldiers on an Army base. When the company contract expired with no renewal, I lost my job. So, as far as work goes, I'm not doing anything right now. I've been on a long road trip since June (over 22,000 miles so far), and I've been doing some blogging and photography. It has been fantastic, and probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. That being said though, I'm looking forward to settling down again. I've been away from my LEGO way too long. Edited March 6, 2013 by dhc6twinotter Quote
DrWeevil Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I'm a Cancer Screening Officer. I test samples for evidence of cancer, then assist people in fighting it. I'm intruiged! What does that actually entail? We don't have those here in Aus... Quote

HuskerDont Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I work the ramp for a large regional airline at O'Hare International Airport. My current line is deicing. How I can afford Lego, or anything else, is beyond me. Quote

How I can afford Lego, or anything else, is beyond me. My buddy made pretty good money deicing planes for jet blue here in boston...then again we were 18 at the time so in retrospect it might have only been good money because there weren't any bills at all. Oh the joys of living with parents and having no kids. Quote
Slegengr Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Not intending to bump an old topic, but I am new here and this seems relevant to new members. For anyone interested, I work as an agricultural off-road equipment engineer. I design conveyors to move seed (corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, rye, canola, etc.) and other products. LEGO got me going with engineering and now it keeps me going on my stereotypical engineering path. Slegengr Quote
dirk Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 once upon a time i was a software engineer with ibm. nowadays, i sleep in, play in the yard, hang out in forums and buy toys. oh and the wife makes me do grocery shopping with her. Quote

frogstudio Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) I'm an Architect and a Professor of Architectural Design at university. I've used LEGO during my classes to explain concepts of modularity, repetition and to make the students do fast conceptual models oh housing projects. And yes... it helps in my MOCs... ;) Edited October 1, 2014 by frogstudio Quote
