Vindicare Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Drat! I want 3300003 so bad! Not willing to pay eBay prices though... What do the front of the BAM pack look like? Quote
Solscud007 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Can Iget close ups of the mini figs? I want to see if it is worth going to get them. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Whoa, all three days worth of stuff! I'm guessing that each t-shirt is different for each opening, right? Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Great freebies ACPin. I was supposed to go to the Peabody grand opening at the Northshore Mall, but was away on vacation so I didn't get the chance to go. I was wondering, what size shirts did they have. Also, I really do wish I got the mini Lego store. It is so cool. They did have a couple of Spongebob Duplo bricks left, after the event, so they let me have one. As others have said, what do the mini figures look like. Quote

I don't know for sure if the design is the same for the other stores and if they're only changing the store name. That design is the back of the shirt, the front has the store name and dates of the grand opening. Great freebies ACPin. TrumpetKing Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 All of these items are so amazing! I am going on an early birthday shopping trip on the 23rd for the Lynnwood Washington Grand Opening. I am only interested in the LEGO store model, so I will be going on that giveaway date. Our T-shirt design is the Fisherman CMF. http://stores.lego.com/en-us/Lynnwood/LandingPage.aspx Quote

He said everyone would get in line to pay multiple times. And people outside cant get in until people I side leave. Oh well. I'm happy I got my set. Quote
ACPin Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Thanks for posting those! Which items were given on which days, and what did one need to do to get each of them? Each new store has grand opening details and it's been a $35 purchase to get the T-shirt (Friday), Store set (Saturday) and CMF (Sunday). You should check out the other new locations for more details. I'm glad my friend Otto was able to help me get one. However it was a little unfair for the rest. He said everyone would get in line to pay multiple times. And people outside cant get in until people I side leave. Oh well. I'm happy I got my set. I was able to meet Otto but couldn't chat longer as the build was busy. Didn't see him at the race yesterday as that was even more packed with runners. Unfortunately that happens and I've actually seen others bring their family (parents and kids) so they can make multiple purchases. Still there was enough to go around for the people who lined up as I saw the line disappear around 11:30AM during my break and saw in the store that they still had the store set available. AC Quote

AC Hi ACPin, it was nice chatting with you on Sat! And beautiful day to race in CP yesterday! Yeah, too bad that I missed you, but I'm sure I will see you in other NYRR races. I will be doing Queens 10K, are you? Quote

I've heard as long as you get there in a reasonable time, you should be able to get one. I'll be aiming for around 9:00-9:30. I found out that people started lining up at the Jersey Gardens store around 7:30AM and there were around fifty in line when I got there just before 9:00AM for my volunteer work. I will be doing Queens 10K, are you? Same here and I didn't do too bad at the race on Sunday. I always like it when they do the race in CP clockwise so you kinda avoid going up the hills on the west side. Yes, I'll be doing the Queens 10K, Bronx 10 miler and Staten Island half-marathon to complete the Five Borough series like I did last year. Only way I can get guarranteed entry to the NYC Half-Marathon next year plus a few more races to complete the 9+1 for next year's NY Full Marathon. AC Quote
Huntleyfx Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Congratulations on the great haul. I'm keeping the eye out for the store set at some point. Quote
td8981 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I was working the event at Jersey Gardens Friday and Saturday, wish I'd realized before hand that I wasn't the only one from EB, would have been neat to be able to say hello. Quote
Wrinkledog Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I too am planning on going to the Alderwood Mall on Saturday. This will be the first time I have been to a Lego store opening. Quote

Solscud007 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Any idea if the Alderwood store has a Duplo brick like NJ Gardens? I have two non LEGO friends going for me. Quote

Canticleer blues Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I was able to score one of those exclusive Lego Store sets. They're pretty neat 'lil things with lots of useful parts. Anyway, the event was super awesome! It was such a pleasure to be able to talk to people like ACPin and Steve Gerling, they're all very nice! Steve has such a great sense of humor, not to mention the fact he's pretty theatrical; very entertaining to watch his little trivia segments with the kids. I even got to contact a few local LUGs in the area; looking forward to attending some meetups in the future. @td8981: Who were you there? It's possible that you talked to some of us Eurobricks members without even being aware of it. Quote
td8981 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) My name's Tom, I was standing in the center taking bricks from the kids most of the weekend, although on Saturday morning I did get to build a pretty decent chunk of Spongebob Steve really was hilarious, my absolute favorite thing that came out of him during the event was when some kid asked how he got his job: "I killed my predecessor in a duel. Mortal combat, in an arena we'd just finished building out of LEGOs" Edited June 20, 2012 by td8981 Quote

There were a few members of NJGardenSLUG on Saturday as well whom I already knew beforehand were attending. Another EB member was also there Saturday took some pics. Quote
