TrumpetKing Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Well, I went to Lynnwood today for the Grand Opening, only to find out that I am in GROUP NUMBER 13! I guess that means no giveaway for me, since my group isn't until 2:00/2:30. So, I went to Target, finished my CMF series 7, and headed home to get some lunch and visit Eurobricks until I leave again. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 How does the store fit with 10230 Mini Modulars? Quote
BrickPicker Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I need a LEGO store in south NJ. Any LEGO reps reading this? LOL Quote
Wrinkledog Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Well, we went to the Alderwood Mall this morning as well... When we got there at 8am we were put into group 7. (which told us at least 300 people were already ahead of us) We were told that we would not be allowed into the store till 11:45. So we left for a while and came back around 10:30. By 11 AM all of group 2 still had still not been allowed into the store. People just showing up at that time were told they would not be allowed into the store till 6pm or 7pm at the earliest. We never made it into the Lego store as the wait was just too crazy... however we did help build the Yoda which was fun, we all got our master builder cert, but there was no free brick given out. HawkLord Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) Yea, I have to admit I wasn't too happy with the ticket concept. The registration table opened at 6:00am and handed out tickets for a few hours, but at some point you had to do the math and find you weren't getting one of the Exclusive sets. Since I had other things to do today, as well, I couldn't just hang-out in the mall area and wait for a ticket group to be called. That was the funny thing about the advertisement - "please enjoy the local shops while you wait". In any case, I'm fine without the set, since it's not like it's as relevent to Seattle as the shirt or minifigures. I now just have to decide if I want to bother with tomorrow. Might just skip it at this point. Edited June 24, 2012 by Hawkman Quote
TrumpetKing Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) How does the store fit with 10230 Mini Modulars? Well, I am pretty sure that it is the same scale, so it should go well. Speaking of Mini Modulars, I bought that at the opening today. I didn't get the set, but what really angered me was that my group was 13, and 10 was just lining up, so I talked to a manager about when I should come back as I would still need to have gotten lunch, only to be told to come back in 45 minutes. After I got back from eating, I discovered that my group had been let in by the time I had gotten to the food court, which was coincidentally 10-20 minutes before the Exclusives sold out. Had they given us a correct, or even more approximate wait time, I would have my LEGO store, which was one of the main reasons I came, because my birthday is coming soon, and I thought that a LEGO store model mould be a good reminder of my love of LEGO, and my birthday traditions. Yeah you aren't the only one. My friends were there at 8am and got group 10 tickets. They both missed out on the Lego store. I need a LEGO store in south NJ. Any LEGO reps reading this? LOL Just drive up to Elizabeth. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 3300003 is more elusive than Bigfoot. I guess I may have to bit the bullet and eBay it... Quote
HawkLord Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 The kicker is that there's two set on Ebay right now from my area that just had the event. One was posted in the past few hours. Quote
ACPin Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 Feeling real lucky to have gotten the set at the Jersey Gardens mall after reading all of the posts above. And to think I could have easily gotten several copies if I wanted to. AC Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 All this talk of the set reminds me of something- when I first walked into the Elizabeth store and asked about the 3300003, they told me that the store was just taking out its last box of the set, and would likely run out before I would get a chance to obtain one. While waiting in line, however, I saw them pull out about 3 more boxes full of the set- and by the time I got to the counter it turns out they had at least two rows of boxes lined up against the back of the register section. Reading this thread makes me wonder, was the guy just unaware of the stock that was right in front of him? Or was he saying that for other reasons...it seems unusual that the store had that many of 3300003, at least. : o Quote
