Going to drop a double in here, but Don't have much of a choice, need to keep my schedule rotating. Last part of Chapter 7

Chapter 7 (con't)

Toa Defilak flipped over a bolt of fire and shot a sphere of compressed air at Toa Balta. It struck him dead on, exploding upon impact. Balta was knocked back, but quickly pulled himself back up, then leaped forward to grab onto Defilak. Defilak was faster, and avoided him, then kicked him down and drew his dagger to Balta's mask.

"Looks like I win again." Defilak said, grinning.

"Number one rule in combat...Don't let your guard down" Balta began. He then kicked the dagger out of Defilak's hand grabbed onto his legs and brought him down. He threw a bolt of fire at the stone wall near Defilak, turning into magma. It began to raid down on Defilak, but he threw up a sphere of air around him that deflected the substance at Balta. He then charged once again at Balta, this time immediately stopping instead of leaping. Balta had braced for the attack, and had jumped forward to counterbalance it, however Defilak had not moved. Now, Balta had a face full of dirt. He stood up once again and brushed himself off.

"And the number two rule, don't rely on the element of surprise to take down your enemy. Always assume they know everything." Said another being. Defilak and Balta looked over to see their brother, Toa Garan enter, with Keetongu walking behind him. The ancient Rahi had been training these three Toa for the war. Garan had been the first to ask for help, Balta and Defilak had joined in attempts to uncover their secret to releasing their full potential. Balta turned to Defilak, and began to speak.

"Well then, let's ignore the element of surprise, do a gentlemen's draw." Balta said, drawing his dual swords.

"You can't be serious. I've beaten you over 30 times today, most of which we knew we would be fighting. You have only had the element of surprise on me a few times. What makes you think you can win now?" Defilak asked, drawing out his dual daggers.

"Persistence." Balta said, smirking. Defilak shrugged and threw a wall of air at Balta. The last few times he had done this, Balta had been knocked down, and easy overtaking. This time, Balta ran the opposite way, running with the wall of wind.until it dissipated. He reached the back wall of the arena, placed his feet on it and vaulted a back flip off of it. Defilak threw a barrage of air spheres, but Balta was expecting this. He tightened his shape, becoming a flying dagger through the air. When he was near Defilak, he opened his form and spun knocking both of Defilak's daggers away. He fired beams of fire at the floor around Defilak, and a wall of fire rose. Defilak tried to Combat it with a shield of air, but this fire was different. it consumed the air, becoming hotter, and increasing in sheer size. Balta then ceased the fire, and Defilak collapsed to the ground.

Keetongu clapped his hands slowly and laughed.

"Persistence. It's easy to combat someone who is predictable. Then you become the unpredictable. And the unpredictable, can never be brought down." Balta said, then did a slight bow.

"It also means you must be beaten before you can prevail. usually that's a good sentiment of life-" Defilak began, then placed his hand on Balta's shoulder before leaving the arena. "-But the enemies we will face may not give you second chances to prevail."

Toa Hewkii stood, staring at the night sky. Standing next to him was Toa Macku. She was standing close, leaning into his side, her head resting on his shoulder.

"You know what I hate? Our symbol, the watchful protector who keeps us all safe, our entirety, Mata Nui, is going to be in the hands of a crazed skakdi that tried to kill everyone he could a few years ago."

"But the mask could save us, could end this war. As much as I hate trusting vezon, it's either him or throwing ourselves into a war that we may not win." macku replied

"We will have to fight either way. How will we fight with no spirit to watch over us? What motivation do our people have? We had planned on having a full force. Look at us! The Xeeno have gotten angry and are rebuilding their city from the attack, they are defending their own planet. The Nurae are now on high alert and reconnaissance to infiltrate the Anarae's world, the Ragu apparently died years ago and nothing is left of them. For mata Nui's sake, the only planet besides that is the Anarae, and we don't know what they are capable of! We have the Toa, the bohrok, the visorak, the Vahki, boxers, exo toa...We even have an ancient monster that could stop time and go about his merry way while we are stuck in time forever. We are relying on swarms of creatures that were our enemies, because we have one common enemy. What if it isn't good enough. We have no idea what they are capable of. Our only hope is that the Nurae can get the artifact and give it to the Plague and hope they leave." Hewkii replied.

"We will find spirit in the ones we want to find it in. Those who don't, will find it in themselves." Macku said, then threw her arms around Hewkii. "This is the only fight that has ever meant anything. it defines our people, because it shows we are now working together. We finally have found Unity, Hewkii. The three virtues will be fulfilled by this battle. our Duty will be to fight, and our Destiny is to be determined. If we win, then our people have won the virtues. If we lose, then I will die beside you, and our destiny will be remembered by generations to come."

They lay down in silence for a while, until Hewkii spotted something in the sky.

"You see those orange specs up there?" Hewkii asked, and pointed to a spot in the sky.

"Yes, the ones moving." Macku replied

"They are Xeeno warships. They could store 25,000 beings each, and have enough firepower to stop a planet in it's tracks." Hewkii replied. "When this war is over, I think I might invest in one. You know, something to play around with." Hewkii said, followed by Macku laughing. Yet then, his gaze got thinner as he squinted to see the orange dots dissapear. After that, a larger orange color took their places. hewkii jumped up, and drew out his hammer. He reached out to help Macku up. "Run to Axonn. NOW!" Hewkii yelled, parting from Macku as he ran to assemble the other Toa nearby.

Spawn grabbed his sword, black and gold in color, with jagged edges that seemed to glow with power.

"The first wave has been sent, air attack forces will dominate the air." ieogla stated.

"Waste no time, send more. Kill them all." Spawn replied. He then walked away, and went into the pitch black chamber he previously had gone into. He knelt once more, the pitch black taking over him. This time, he was not greeted by the voice of the Plague. This time, he was greeted with a growl, and a pair of white eyes emitting from the darkness. The Dragon of Fire had been summoned.

Toa Garan stood opposite of Toa Defilak. Now, it was their turn to match off. Garan drew out his Pulse Bolt Generators, which were more powerful versions of the weapons he had as a Matoran. He placed them together, and fired out a sphere of energy, that was growing stronger as it traveled. As a Toa, it grew more powerful faster, and quickly expanded, like a storm going to engulf Defilak. Defilak threw a wall of air at the Pulse bolt, but it consumed it, and continued to travel towards him. He Placed his twin daggers together, and jumped up, using the longer dagger to pull himself up over the energy bolt. He dropped back down to the ground, and swung with his weapon, only to have it matched by Garan retaliating with a swing of his own Pulse Bolt Generator. Garan fired another bolt, this time it was moving in an irregular path, Defilak did not know how to avoid it. He rushed forward and jumped straight into the bolt, absorbing the energy into his Dagger. he didn't even know he was capable of doing it, but something in his mind allowed him to. He took the force, shock and pain of the blast and directed it back at Garan, who ended up being blasted with his own attack.

"Risks." Keetongu said. It was the only word he spoke, but Defilak understood. Risk was how he unleashed his full potential. It had been chosen to him the day he chose to risk his life going deep into the pit, not knowing what would happen.

Balta Burst into the arena, attempting to catch his breath.

"What's wrong?" Garan asked, moving nearer to Balta.

"Hewkii Just warned me," He began, taking a deep breath, "Something is happening. We need to get ready." Garan and Defilak nodded, and drew their weapons. They looked to Keetongu. The ancient Rahi had pulled out a massive sword. There were markings on it that were unknown to the toa. The sword crackled with energy, and seemed to power Keetongu.

"Ready." He said, then looked to the three Toa in approval. Their training was complete.

Xult stood at the bridge of the Dreadnought Warship, the largest and most powerful ship in their universe, matched only by the Nurae's Flagship, the Retaliator, which had set off to Anarae. It housed all of the Nurae, they had abandoned their planet after many of their people had been taken over by the Plague when the Raul Scouts attacked. The room was large and had a circular window which overlooked the entire front end of the ship and the space ahead of them. All around the room, Xeeno sat at computer. navigators, engineers, weapons specialists, anyone who had to maintain the ships systems by computers that may need urgent reports was here.

A small Xeeno walked up to Xult. "Commander Xult! All of our warships have been...destroyed. We are the last ones left." It said, sadness filling it's voice.

"Last ones? We had over 50 ships, what happened to them!" Xult yelled. Before the Xeeno could reply, the space ahead of them tore open. A spinning vortex errupted from the sky, purple and blue lightning fired out, striking the Dreadnought. "Prepare all weapons systems! Scramble the fighters, ready the jump crews, load the cannons, and open the armoy! Throw the ship into a 45 degree angle to the right of that vortex, move straight and set a course to sector B-57a!" Xult yelled, and grabbed a hold of the console in front of him as the ship pulled to the right. The bay doors opened on the side of the ship, and hundreds of small fighters flew out. Some were bombers, some interceptors, and some were dropships loaded with armed Xeeno. As Xult watched, something came out of the vortex. At first, they could hardly be scene in the black skies of space. But as they advanced closer, the white eyes of the Plague became apparent. Hundreds of plague fighters emerged from the vortex, firing bolts of shadow across at the Xeeno fighters, who fought back using heavy missiles and bullets, the Xeeno ammo of choice. The fighters clashed, and hundreds of explosions emerged as a result, as ships from both sides were obliterated. Anti air defenses on the Dreadnought destroyed all ships that came near it.

"Keep steady! Shut down the engines, we are going to stay here and destroy as much as we can! We are the first line, and we will not fall!" Xult said, giving confidence to those on board. Yet it was not to last. small pods slammed into the decks of the Dreadnought. They hit everywhere, all around the outer panels of the ship. Creature emerged from the pods, in a violent, shattering manner, like they had been trapped in glass. They had weapons resembling buzzsaws, chainsaws, and heavy serrated swords, and began to attack at the ships outer armor. The ships defense cannons blasted, and annihilated wave after wave of the drop pod plague soldiers. "500 years this ship has been in operation. It will not fall today. We will-" He stopped. Something else was coming out of the vortex, but is was not a fleet of Plague ships. It was massive. It was hard to observe because it, like the other plague fighters, was pitch black, but Xult could tell where it was because He couldn't see the stars behind it. It was a Plague warship, with enormous spikes protruding from it. The ship changed course, and headed straight for the Dreadnought. It had massive pincers in the front, at least half a mile long, and as it got close to the Dreadnought, becagn to shut, attempting to grab onto it.

"Throw the ship into reverse! NOW!" Xult yelled, but it was too late. The pincers grabbed onto the ship and squeezed , digging into the sides of the warship, cutting through armor, destroying the bay doors. then the front of the Plague ship opened like a massive mouth, and dagger shaped blades lines the outsides of it. the pincers were on a sliding mechanism that allowed the main body of th ship to move forward while still grabbing onto the Dreadnought. the mouth closed of the Plague ship closed, and engulfed the front end of it. The command bridge into which Xult was in, was now pitch black for the windows were inside of the mouth. The lights of the computers were the only thing lighting the room now. The mouth must have closed tight, because suddenly the jagged teeth pierced through the ceiling, almost stabbing Xult right down on the head. "What the hell is this thing..." Xult said, grabbing his shotgun.

The windows of the ship had not broken from the mouth closing, but it seemed like the mouth had created an airtight seal. However the Xeeno took precautions, they each grabbed a helmet what would allow them to breath. those who stood in the bridge watched in silence. They could see nothing, just the darkness that surrounded them. And then BAM! something had slammed into the glass of the ship. a pair of white eyes stared at them through the glass. None of the Xeeno had fired out of fright, but they were thrown off guard. "They aren't getting through this glass without a lot of fire power." Xult said, once again trying to reinforce confidence to his soldiers."

The creature tilted its head and screeched. The sound was deafening, and because of the airtight seal the mouth had created, it was very, very audible. The screeched echoed around inside the connected ships, and it shattered the glass of the bridge. The creature that had clung to the glass fell inside the ship, and many of the Xeeno fired at it. The creature was faster, and leaped across the command bridge, clinging to walls and ceilings. It smashed through a wall at the back of the room and continued to move, screeching as it did so. Before the Xeeno could engage, another creature entered the bridge. And another. And another. Slowly, they kept climbing in, and the only thing the Xeeno could see was their white eyes.

The Xeeno in the bridge ran, moving to the back of the ship. It seemed forever to reached the hatch to exit the ship. This was, afterall, a 4 mile long Warship. Hundreds of Xeeno were now standing on the outside of the ship, their helmets the only thing keeping them alive, struggling not to fly off into space and be lost forever. Plague were not inside the Dreadnought everywhere, and those Xeeno who stayed inside were firing at benings they could barely see. The lights and power of the ship were gone. Xult watched as the Plague Warship shifted and changed once again. This time, more spiked arms emerged from it, and crashed down, piercing more parts of the Dreadnought. Small hatches opened from them, and plague began to pour out. They were now on the outside of the warship, the defense cannons disabled. The Plague Warship has massive white eyes itself, they had created it to seem like a living being within itself. Xult knew this was the end. They were hopeless, outnumbered, outpowered. Yet then, a flash of white illuminated the ships. A white, daggerlike ship, almost resembling a floating iceberge, rammed into the Palgue Warship, tearing it away from the Dreadnought, ripping it free from the arms that held it. The mouth tore away at the shop as it was pushed away, completely removing the bridge of the ship. Xult looked to see the ship that had just warped into the area. It was the Nurae Flagship, the Retaliator.

Axonn grabbed the Ignika. he looked at it, the mask that represented Spherus magna and it's people. The mast of Mata Nui. "Mata Nui...Protect us." he said, staring at the mask. Then he handed it to Vezon. "Use it's power, focus it on the Plague when they are here. it may work, it may fail. It's worth a try either way." Axonn stated. behind him, stood a force stronger than any he had seen before. The Toa Spherus, Toa Nuva, and Toa Mahri, as well as the other toa created by the remaining stones, stood, ready to fight. Flaudis was ahead of them all, his sword drawn, and cape fluttering in the wind. Matoran, Agori, Exo Toa, Boxers, and legions of Vahki also stood, spreading across miles of land. Massive Scopio machines and tanks moved along, with Kaxium and Thornatus vehicles parked and ready. Other massive figures lined the field, such as he Voporak, Devastator, Eliminator, Zivon, even the kardas Dragon, which Vezon now was climbing onto.

"The enemy will move forth, never stopping at once to make way for one of us. We must ready our weapons. Ready our spirits. Today, we fight not as a force of many, we fight as a force of one! We will protect the generations, the legacy that we have yet to make. protect the universe from shadows that lurk behind white eyes. Tear away their wrongdoings! Tear away their spirits! Leave none standing. We start with the battles. We start with the destruction of evil. We fight the war. We end with the resurrection of a new world, a new universe, a new galaxy free of beings who kill for nothing. We fight, in the name of the three virtues! Unity! Duty! Destiny!" Axonn yelled, his voice booming across the cities, the deserts. It echoed through the voices of others, and everyone heard the words he spoke. Thousands, millions cried out the three virtues. There was no more hiding, no more preparing. The fires of the Plague burned bright, and the voices of their rulers guided them.

The skies tore open ahead of them. The Plague was coming. There was no more time for preperation. The Shadows in the Deep crawled to the surface, and the Day when Light betrays drew one step closer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And there you have it, finally the war is starting. Now I did name this chapter "Unity" Instead of Chapter 8, because, well, listen to macku's words at the end of chapter 7. And actually that was all of chapter 8 right there, hence the long scene with the Xeeno. I felt like I didnt give them enough writing time yet so that was a good opportunity to give them a bit of a badass scene. Now then, time to release some....Spoilers hmmm?

-This story will end at chapter 10. Unity, Duty, and Destiny are the final 3 chapters.

-This isn't the end. My biggest secret...this is a trilogy. In fact, a massive trilogy. And I'll give even more spoilers as to say this: The next episode in the series will be 25 chapters, and the last one will be around 40. This is merely an introduction >:D

-Lastly...enjoy Nurae Storm.

Blue was purposeful, already have a part written somewhere that describes the color a bit more and somewhere in there I had mentioned Storm also having blue lights on his body now, so just wait for that.

Lastly, this is just a size comp and also to show, that His size relative to Tahu Mata, is how big all nurae are to toa in the story:

DUTY (Part 1)

Hewkii ran. His breath was heavy, but he kept moving, as fast as he could. As he glanced upward, he could see the sky, now swirling with pitch black clouds, purple and blue lightning, vortexes, tornadoes, and other horrible things being spat out. The plague were falling from the sky, lighting hit the ground only to be followed by Raul bursting from the ground, their high pitched screeches and twisting bodies blasting sand and rock everywhere. This was it. This was war. A war that meant either life or death. There was one thing Hewkii knew, as he thought to himself, he knew that next to him, was a Toa. Behind him, was a Toa, and an army of those he was happy to call his people. In front of him was King Toa Flaudis. Flaudis himself slammed his sword into the ground, and launched himself into the air. As he came down in the middle of a group of plague, he launched out a shockwave of electricity, stunning those near him. he began to speak, his voice a heavy boom over the loud storms above.

"We wish to speak to your king. We believe we may have what you are looking for." He said blatantly. An attempt at peace was their first option.

"No peace. Only control." One of the plague said, then lashed out. Flaudis swung his sword, cutting the plagues arms off, then fired a beam of water from his hand, which cut through the soldier like an Ash bears claws through a leaf. This was the only sign the armies needed. War would happen. As if by the turning of a switch, complete chaos broke out. The armies immediately clashed, a mess of disorganized beings fighting, powers being flung everywhere.

Hewkii grabbed his weapon, a massive hammer, and swung it at a Plague soldier that was nearby him. it was about the size of a toa, with a generic looking spiked face and white eyes. The hammer obliterated it, completely demolishing the soldier to pieces. As He looked around, 5 more plague had circled around him.

"Strike one of us down, more will fill in. That weapon is too slow to take on an army you fool. You cannot win" They said in unison.

"I suppose you're right. Then bring me down, honorably." Hewkii replied, and placed his hammer on his back. The top of it was behind his neck. As he placed it there, he raised his arm up. The top head of the hammer opened, and two handle emerged, then seemed to magnetize to Hewkii's hands. They were daggers, and without hesitation he swung them at two of the Soldier's knees, then took their heads with the second swing. He then threw them , nailing two more soldiers in the chests, and Swung his hammer at the last one. "In other words, give me the honor of proving you wrong." He said, then grabbed the daggers and moved onto the next group of soldiers.

Hafu bolted to the side as a massive shard crashed into the ground before him, annihilating a few soldiers who got int he way. It unfolded and crumbled to turn into a massive spider, which immediately fired a black webbing at Hafu. He special ability that he had learned was speed. However it was not speed he had learned to run away from battle, but rather speed to run to a battle, to run to something that he desired to get to. he figured the underbelly of the Spider was the weakest spot, and made a dash for that spot, completely missing the black webbing that was firing out of what seemed like everywhere from the spider. As he got underneath, the spider leaped up and forward, then fired black spikes at hafu, which stuck to the ground near him. They exploded, the webbing grabbing his ankles and causing him to fall flat on his face. The spider turned around and made course for hafu.

A Blue and gold being suddenly cast a shadow atop Hafu. As he struggled to look up, he noticed the gigantic mandibles of the Kahgarak. The massive spider, which was sizeable to the Kahgarak, crawled forward and wrapped it's legs around the kahgarak, but the kahgarak grabbed it in it's mandibles and twisted it's torso, breaking the spider in half. it swung its head, clearing away a huge portion of plague that were coming near it. Hafu wrestled himself free of the Webbing, then readied his club. A large plague creature with a wide stance the width of a 5 story building was lumbering towards them, being accompanied by at least 100 plague soldiers and smaller fikou-sized plague slugs. The kahgarak lifted its head into the air and screeched. Without warning, webs fired out at the oncoming plague, grabbing them, pulling them down and closer. The swarms of visorak entered the battlefield, moving forward with unrelenting force, cutting through the plague soldiers and drones. The wide, towering plague monstrosity let out a deep bellowing groan and a scorpion launched off of it's back. It was larger than the kahgarak, and seemed to move with immense speed compared to it's slow counterpart. At that moment, the scorpion was pulled to the side by an even larger creature which had arrived to the field. It was the zivon, which was now in a circular strafing motion against the scorpion creature. The scorpion's stinger swung out, but the zivon hacked it off with one of it's claws, the grabbed the scorpion by the head, lifted it into the air, and slammed it down, then repeatedly jammed its pincers into the Scorpion's back, over and over again. The zivon never was a light-hearted creature. It backed it's way next to the kahgarak, and the two of them screeched, watching the lumbering plague still moving closer. This was the first time in existence that a Visorak and the Zivon stood side by side to face a common danger.

Toa Kopeke, Toa Balta, Toa Defilak, and Toa Garan fought side by side. They noticed a larger plague moving in, 7 eyes gleaming, staring, watching all four of the Toa. It was far away, almost 100 yards in the distance, then suddenly it was right next to them as if it had teleported. It Kicked Defilak to the ground and pulled out a chain mace, then swung it at Kopeke, who was hit hard in the torso, tearing armor away. The plague, know as Siiroak, Then reached out for Balta, but he leaped out of the way.

"No long range weapons. It's a shame really, makes you predictable." Balta exclaimed, then jumped back and threw bolts of magma at Siiroak. They did nothing, the plague seemed to be immune to fire.

"Be gone you flame" Siiroak spat dryly, then spun around and grabbed toa Piruk, a toa created by some of the leftover Toa stones who was trying to sneak up on him, and slung him at balta, hitting him dead on. Siiroak then aimed his wrist at Garan who was attempting t get at a distance to blast the plague with his pulse generators. Spikes fired from the outstretched arm, only barely missing the dodging garan. Defilak had gotten back up and threw a wall of air at Siiroak, who simply walked through it. He pulled out a sword and batted away the counter attack that Defilak had attempted with his daggers, then swatted him in the mask, knocking it off. Kopeke had gotten back up and was now charging at Siiroak, throwing slings of ice at him.

"What do you have to prove? That you are stronger? What is even the point of all of this!" Kopeke asked as Siiroak looked down at his ice covered hands. He clenched them, crushing the ice into tiny fragments.

"To prevent the day when light betrays." Sirroak replied, and threw the ice fragments at Kopeke. They blinded him and he covered his face, exposing his destroyed chest armor. Siiroak reached out and bashed his hand into Kopeke's torso, then lifted him up off the ground by his pure grasp on Kopeke's insides. "Our purpose is to inflict fear. We are the balance to the universe. Where there is light, there is hope. There is justice. There is power to those who hold onto those virtues of life. There is life. Darkness, must always follow. There must always be a balance. There is no where light can run. In the absence of light, there is shadow. There is never an absence of shadow." He said, the pulled his arm back. Kopeke fell to the ground, lifeless.

"No!" Garan yelled from afar, but was overwhelmed as a plague commander known as Jeerus appeared behind him. As Sirroak turned back around, Balta, Piruk, and Defilak stood, their weapons ready. A Skopio tank had rolled in an was aimed at the 7 eyed plague, ready to crush him.

"That's not going to stop me." Siiroak replied, a coarse laugh filled the words.

I decided to make Duty multiple parts, there is just So much of this battle to write about I have to make it many parts. But just so you know, this story is indeed done being written, and as a little teaser...

8378318001_d937ed6995.jpg

The next notebook has been started for what I promised, the second installment of a trilogy. So when I am done posting the segments to this story, there will be no breaks, the second part will be starting right up. And from what I've written so far, there's going to be a lot of character development right from the start. And yes, it is a continuation of this story, characters will all be in it. Well, you'll see.

Duty(Part 2)

The Scopio tank exploded. As Balta gazed to his left, he could see a massive, building sized Plague looking in their direction. It had fired a massive beam right at the tank, and was now aimed at the Toa. The Zivon jumped onto it, grabbing onto it's neck and stabbing into it's shoulder blades. The Kahgarak crashed into it's legs, causing the figure to collapse over, a huge shockwave emitting from his fallen form. Defilak spun around quickly, his eyes scanning everything

"Where did that 7 eyed plague go?" He asked. The three toa glanced around, but there was no sign of him.

***

Hahli, Macku, and Gali Nuva were leading a frontal assault on what seemed to be a gigantic battering ram of sorts. As they moved closer to it, they noticed just how heavily guarded it was, and how wrong they were as to what it was. It was a transport of some sort, being pulled by two massive 4-legged creatures that seemed to be breathing fire. They had horns on their heads that jutted forward, though the creature to the right has one broken. Their backs were covered in some sort of shell with what looked like tank cannons attached to the back. On the transport machine, a plague creature held on, it had 4 arms and 4 hands yet no legs. It seemed to be grabbing on, using its lower two arms to command the massive beasts pulling the vehicle. Around it was a swarm of smaller plague soldiers, as well as larger ones that seemed to be heavily armored, that carried spiked clubs and shields.

Gali Summoned a tidal wave down at the vehicle, clearing away some of the smaller plague. Hali fired her cordak blaster, which struck the feet of the two massive beasts. The vehicle stopped, and the driver let go of the reigns that kept the beasts to the vehicle. it must have had massive strength in it's arms to be able to keep the creatures attached to the vehicle to pull it with only his pure strength. The large troll beings moved in, swinging their clubs at the three toa.

"Duck!" Macku yelled. As the other toa did so, she leaped up and landed on top the club, then bolted off of it and tackled one of them. She pulled out her water swords and swiped through the troll, then threw it at the second one, killing them both. A third one appeared, and blocked her sword with it's shield. It bashed into her with it's head, knocking her down, Toa Gali jumped, and slammed her ax into it's back. The heavy thuds of footsteps that followed were not that of another troll. Gali Looked behind he just in time to see one of the steeds opening it's mouth and blasting fire out at the Toa. Macku threw up a bubble of water around them, blocking the fire, and the creature was bashed away by a fist of stone from the ground. It was Hewkii, who now ran in from the side, and Toa Kopaka was dropped down on top of the vehicle by Lewa, who had carried him above the battle.

***

Onua and Kongu were taking on a ground of Plague Raul. They continually emerged from the ground, firing spikes at the Toa, trying to corrupt them. Kongu shot the spikes out of the air with his cordak blasters, and Onua grabbed them as they were halway into the ground, tearing them in half. After a short while the Raul were all dead, yet a new danger was incoming.

"What in Mata Nui is that?" Kongu asked, as a huge, lumbering creature walked towards them. it was the size of a Coliseum, it's entire body was covered in hundreds of spheres the size of the pods that matoran had been kept in back on Metru Nui. It kneeled down, and it's hands dug into the ground. The spheres rolled off, and began to roll onto the battlefield. The Body of the being that had laid them was now glowing. More of the spheres began to grow, though they were very small.

The spheres moved in, and at once they began to change. Small sections of them flipped out and shifted, forming into armies of small, rounded beings. Theyhad only one eye each, yet the blazing white color still struck fear into the Toa. They lashed out, firing Cordak Blasters and throwing earth at them, but the small spherical beings kept coming, digging their way through the damage. Two lasers spread out at the field, wiping out portions of the spherical creatures. The Bahrag twins moved in, their necks extended.

"Ttttimee tooo cleanssssse theee fillthh" They said in unison. The ground shook, as if an earthqauke were about to happen. Yet this was not the case. Onua and Kongu watched in amazement as the swarms of bohrok emerged from the ground, and began to move toward the spherical creatures already on the advance.

Kopaka looked around. The vehicle was foreign, but his telescopic eye would be able to sense the weak points. Before he could do so, the driver leaped up to face kopaka. It stood on two of it's hands, and the other two hung above it. No weapons, just it's pure strength. it screeched, revealing a large set of teeth set upon its jaw.

"Chill." Kopaka said coldly, then hit the driver with a wave of cold similar to that of dry ice. The driver was frozen still as Kopaka approached it. He swung his sword calmly, shattering the driver to pieces. A roar emitted from down below. Kopaka ran to the side and peered down, only to see the two steeds extremely angry. One of them slammed itself into the vehicle, demolishing a side of it, and causing it to collapse. Kopaka tried to catch himself by forming a bridge of ice, but the head of the other steed blasting him with fire was too much. Lewa noticed the sight and dodged downward to attempt to catch his brother, but a fist of stone summoned by Hewkii to bash the steeds away rose from the ground, and lewa slammed into it. Kopaka was lost amongst the rubble, and lewa crashed to the ground, his mask broken in two.

Hewkii observed the sight of the two fallen toa, and blamed it on himself. He charged, his head put forward, as one of the steeds charged right back, its horns pointed forward like a set of daggers. He screamed and jumped, swinging his hammer, nailing the head of the steed from the side. It screeched and dove off to the side, it's spiked carving through hewkii's armor. The second steed charge form the side, hitting Hewki with a force of a hundred Kane-Ra bulls. He lay their on the ground, feeling as though his body was gone.

Gali and Hahli screamed for help, knowing that they would need all they could get. Macku's eyes squinted, and her fists were clenched.

"You don't touch Hewkii...you don't break Hewkii...you don't MESS WITH ME!" She screamed, and an explosion of water beneath her send her airborne. She swung around, funnels of water fired out in every direction. They pierced through the steeds, the fine streams of water had incredible speed. Waves of water were then thrown as well as water tornadoes, whips of vapor that cut through them, even storms the intensity of a hurricane bared down, slamming into the steeds, causing them to hide and cower. She screamed once more, and another explosion rained down, annihilating the massive creatures. Their bodies were disintegrated from the Water, which eroded them quickly. She fell to the ground and held onto her head. A sharp pain had hit her, she had never used this kind of power before. Only when she glanced upward has she noticed what she had done. Everything within a one mile radius was gone. Completely gone from existence, eroded to nothing but atoms now floating the in the air. But somehow, her conscious mind had overcome her power, because Kopaka, Lewa, and Hewkii were still there.

She ran over to hewkii and knelt beside him. he managed to slightly open his eyes. "You've been holding out this whole time." He joked, his words a whisper.

"Stay strong hewkii...If you die then I will die, and I don't plan to die today" She replied, and looked up. Something was emerging from the portal directly above the battlefield. Something big. And although no one spoke, everyone, from matoran to Toa to the mechanical vahki, heard the words echoed in their head.

"The Dragon of Fire"

Destiny

The following moments were chaos. What had at first been a controlled battle sprung out of control. The plague went insane, charging forward, sending everything they had. Ships flew down from above, attacking the forces on the ground, only to be intercepted by a new flying Vahki known as the Airvak. Tahu Nuva, Ackar, and Jaller were leading up an offensive strike on the frontlines. behind them were a grouping of Fire Aar, their flame swords ready. Two scopio tanks walked behind them, and a fury of Kaxium bikes drove past with immense speed, moving out to take down a 5 story tall being in the distance that was engaged in combat with the Zivon and Kahgarak. High atop a mountain, a group of high ranking Plague stood. Ooranus, IeogLa, Siiroak, Jievuz, and Rouga. They were the generals of the Plague legions, the right hand soldiers of Spawn. Each of them was devastatingly powerful in their own way, yet they weren't on the ground fighting. Only a small portion of plague was in this war, a mere 5 percent. The rest waited back in their universe, ready for when the time to attack was right. The 5 generals had their reasons for retreating to the higher ground. As the dragon of fire emerged from the portal, the memories of it's power struck through their minds. It was ruthless, and so was Spawn. it made no difference if a few thousand plague were killed on accident by the dragon, more would take their place.

The dragon emerged from the portal, it's shape loomed over the battlefield like an asteroid on a path of destruction. Tahu, Ackar and Jaller stopped dead in their tracks. The dragon was pitch black, yet the jagged spikes which emitted from every pour of the beast were on fire. it's eyes blazed white, the heat of the monstrosity could be felt by even the toa of fire themselves. It opened it's mouth, and let out a deep groan, then fire errupted from it's mouth.

The sight was horrific.

The fire didn't glow a shade of red, orange or yellow. it was white. Pure white. The heat was to the point of being a supernova, almost invisible fire. It melted down everything it touched, from plague to matoran to vahki. The dragon stopped, the let out a screech that sent a shockwave of heat across the land. Tahu and Jaller were hit immediately with the heat, and they themselves struggled to stand up afterwards.

"I can only imagine what that must have felt like to our ice brothers..." Jaller stated, picking himself off of the ground.

But tahu was fixed on something else. There was a being riding on the back of the dragon. it's spiked helmet, disformed figure, tattered cape, and shadows that crept around it were clear. It was Lord Spawn. The King of the Plague.

Without warning, something roared in the skies besides the Dragon of fire. It was the Kardas Dragon. Vezon stood on it's back.

****

Vezon had though to a few minutes ago. he had attempted to use the mask of life to destroy the life of the plague.

It had failed.

He had attempted to create a dimensional gate to throw the plague into. What universe? he had no idea, but anywhere besides here was preferred.

It had failed.

He tried to channel his power mixed with the Voporaks power to age the plague to a time when they would die.

it had failed.

He only had one hope left, he had gotten on his steed, the kardas, and mounted the Ignika on it's back. They fired upward, at the moment the Dragon of Fire had appeared.

The Kardas rammed into it, grabbing it's neck within it's jaw, and tried to break it. But the Dragon of Fire was stronger, and twisted around, latching onto Kardas with it's massive clawed feet. it shot downward, and slammed the Kardas into the ground, then pulled it up again by it's neck. It tried repeatedly to kill the Kardas, but the ignika kept them alive. Vezon leaped off of Kardas and onto the dragon of fire, then drove his staff into it's back. the heat of the spikes was too much to bare. He rapidly removed the staff and tried to jump back to kardas, but Spawn held him back. he could have held him close to the spikes, let his mask slowly melt off. But he threw him off, and watched as Vezon went colliding into the ground. At this point the war had stopped. Everyone watched in silence as the Dragon of Fire landed, and Spawn jumped off. He grabbed Vezon by the neck and lifted him high into the air.

"You...I can see right through your mind like an open pane of glass. Why do you fight those who are of your natural being? Darkness is your ally. Embrace that, and you could become one of the greatest beings to ever exist. But instead you hide behind your ideals of...what? Morals? Arrogance? Your time is nothing but a waste of energy and space. You are weak because you choose to fight for those who are. You have the nerve to challenge me? Alone? Look at you, so weak." He threw Vezon down roughly, and stepped on his chest, then knelt down to look vezon in the face. His pitch black face behind the mask with blazing white eyes tore a hole through vezons mind. he could see things that he never knew existed, horrible things, things that could make a skakdi cringe. He was having a nightmare.

"Fool..." Vezon spat, struggling to speak. "I... didn't... take you on... alone." Kardas burst in from the air, ramming into Spawn. Vezon leaped up. he had been acting weaker than he actually was, and the Ignika near him made him even stronger. He slashed his staff, but Spawn quickly retrieved his sword. it blazed white, the heat of dragon breath emitted from it. The staff and sword met. The sword was hot enough to cut through diamond, yet Vezon's staff stood steady. Spawn's head was suddenly knocked to the side as Axonn swung his ax from behind. Flaudis plummeted down from the sky and pulled out his sword, and swung it at spawn, who battered it away with his fist. Spawn kicked Axonn away and elbowed vezon to the ground. he stood, the three beings quickly getting to their feet around him. Kardas snapped at him, but Spawn's pincer grabbed hold of kardas' head and plowed it into the ground. With his other hand, he ripped the ignika off of it's neck and lifted it high. The 3 stopped their advancement, and Kardas backed away.

"What is this? A mask with the power to give life or to kill? Is this what you think can kill us? Is this what you think will win you the war? The item we desire? You are wrong!" He yelled, and snapped the mask in two.

"No!" Axonn yelled, and bolted forward. Spawn backhanded him, and he was sent sprawling. The two halves of the most coveted item in this universe fell to the ground.

"The artifact...it's the pyramid, isn't it? The one you attacked us long ago to find." Flaudis stated, ignoring the mask that meant nothing to him.

"Precisely." Spawn said. His voice had changed. The treacherous tone was resided for a serious tone. "The one you idiots hid from us. it's here isn't it? I can feel it's presence. You were unwise to have kept it from us. very, very, unwise." He stated, the white in his eyes flaring more than ever.

"Well quit holding out on us then, what is it?" Vezon snapped as he brushed dirt off of himself.

"It is called the Onyx. The Onyx of Trigonax. You simple minded beings can only comprehend one existence. No matter where you teleport to, whether it be a different region, planet, universe, even an alternate dimension, you cannot imagine an entirely second existence. It is not reachable through any other means besides one of 5 artifacts. The Onyx, the Fire Opal, the Peridot, the Spinel, and the Zircon. Not even we know where they are. Until thousands of years ago when we found the Onyx, You fools hid it from us, it tried to protect itself by sending itself here. They have a mind of their own, but after a long time, they start to decay." Spawn replied

"Why do you want to find it then?" Flaudis asked. He was becoming worried about the intentions, but moreso worried about the artifact. A malfunctioning portal sitting in their universe.

"We are the shadows. This existence is shadows. What do you see without light? Shadow. If you light a torch, it adds light. But darkness is never really gone, is it? You just covered it up. get rid of the light, and the shadow returns. The Onyx leads you to a place where this is not true, where light always exists. These two existences were created on accident. No one knows how, why, or when, We were never mean to exist, light and dark were not meant to exist. Only one entity was supposed to. Now we have two separate places, two separate powers. Either we survive, or they do. Each existence has 5 portals. Luckily, they have never founds ours." Spawn stated

"You want to find them first so that you can stop them? So that we all live?" Axonn asked, finding it hard to believe this monstrosity was implying they were on the same side.

"And why do you kill innocent beings when you looked for this artifact?" Flaudis asked. He had lowered his sword. Was he trusting in this being?

"At first, we were born with the knowledge of the Trigonax's existence, but were led to believe they didn't exist. Our mission we have been given, was to save our existence from the pain they would bring. We didn't know the portals ever existed. The artifacts. So we decided to put this to death, let everything free from it's misery. Imagine, Toa, being locked in a room for 100 days, seeing only light, never shadow. One day, the lights go out. Does it hurt? No, it soothes you, it is the welcoming you expected. It may be shocking, but nothing more than that. Now imagine you are trapped in 100 days of darkness, and the light is put on, a light so bright it makes the fire of the Dragon seem dim. Your vision bleeds, your minds burn, you slowly start to go insane, crawling around like a group of mutated freaks. The Trigonax are what are to be feared. We killed those who would suffer the greatest, and convert those who will make the strongest warriors to the Plague. Our sole existence is to destroy the Trigonax. When it is gone, we will follow. Balance will finally exist. Once we learned knowledge of the Artifact, we had started to search for it. Wehn it was lost, hope was lost, and we returned to killing." Spawn stared at the Blue and Gold being that stood before him. "You are the reason. If you had left the artifact where you found it, destiny would have been achieved. You failed. This is all a test, Toa. Can you trust a creature like me? If not, you are lost to the light. But not the light you want to accept. The light that betrays."

Taka Nuva's eyes opened wide. He suddenly ha a flashback of the last few hours. He had been aboard the Retaliator, the flagship of the Nurae army. He had journeyed with them to the planet of Anarae, the largest planet in the solar system. The Nurae had told him the Anarae were warriors of light, and that his guidance could be useful. They had a detour, they had to save the Xeeno who were being brutally attacked by the first wave of Plague. Yet something held him. Something grabbed him, calling him to the light. He loved the light, it was his friend. it was his ally. it was what drove him to steal a small craft from the Retaliator and fly down to Anarae. it was what allowed him to pass he Anarae while they bowed in acceptance of this being of light. It guided him right to where he needed to be. Now, as he stood in front of the Massive white pyramid, he wondered what had driven him to do it truly. Was it light? Or was it the pyramid? It was white, a blinding, glistening white. He placed his hand on it. Why did I just do that? He thought to himself. The pyramid exploded.

Or at least, he thought it did. bright blue lines crackled all over it, and a wave of energy knocked him down. What have I done? The world around him began to spin. he was beginning to move toward the artifact- it was pulling him in.

"Oh, you were wrong, by the way." Vezon smirked. Spawn glanced at him. He had his hands placed over the Ignika, he had been absorbing it's power. "Such an object like this, it has no place here. Nothing has the right to give life nor take it and think it has the right to guide us. it only takes someone insane. Like me" He grinned even wider. "You think I am a coward? No, not a coward. I just wait for the right moment."

Before Axonn realized the armor that the Ignika had given him, Vezon lashed out, bringing Axonn to his knees simply by pure willpower. He grabbed Axonn's mask and tore it off, then mounted it atop his staff. "The Ignika's power belongs to me. it always has, and it always will." he spat.

"It will make no difference." Spawn began, "The Trigonax are neither alive nor dead, just as we are. The mask is useless to th-" Before he could finish, the world began to move. Every Plague fighter, warship, even the planets, were being dragged in. Something was pulling them, an entire solar system. Xeeno and the abandoned Ragu exploded, two entire planets absolutely decimated from the sheer force. Millions of lives instantly destroyed. Nurae was not affected, yet it was lifeless, the beings who belonged to it were already being pulled in. The planet itself had a technology that the force didn't care about.

he Dragon of Fire let out a massive roar that was louder than any being on the battlefield.

"It can't be...SOMEONE ACTIVATED THE ARTIFACT!" Spawn screamed. "We were trying to find it so that we could use it when the time was right, now is not! Our armies are not ready! We-" before he could finish, the entire planet stopped as every living being was ripped away from it, and pulled rapidly into the planet of Anarae, into a single white pyramid that sat at the core of the planet, absorbing them.

The Onyx of Trigonax had been activated.

AND IT IS DONE! Finally, I have finished the first part of this story. An absolutely huge chapter, and just so you guys know, this is the new length, the new detail, the new direction my writing style is taking. I am putting more work into this that I previously was, this story is now what I wanted it to be, I now have the leverage I want. Get used to more detail, longer conversations, and I know I skimmed out on the war here, because the war is yet to come.

All will be continued in Part 2 of my trilogy... THE ONYX OF TRIGONAX. And it's going to be way longer than this first part

Some commentary about how I felt when writing this;

-Yes, Vezon had to go crazy at the end. I'll be honest, the Ignika was annoying me. I never planned for my story to grow so huge, and the Onyx completely obliterated my original plans for the ignika. Now I'm trying to make it into a point, to make it a symbol but nothing more.

-I Didn't like how many planets I had going, so this was an easy way to condense that

-I didn't have many well known plague yet, this was the first time I've even GIVEN characterization to any of the Plague.

-Multi-dimensional war was getting boring. How about an entire new Existence? Sounds good to me.
