Well, since you asked NICELY... Ahem.

Erik and Daxus attempt to tip over the barrel, but the moss at the bottom is like cement: the barel won't budge. Erik tries to fish out the key with his spear: and it works!

Daxus leads the party of of the room, past the Artillery Progg's withered body, and to the closest locked door. The key works - and shatters in Daxus's palm. They proceed forward to a rather bare room:

No shelves are present. The floor is a chalk grey, too hard to be penetrated by your average mining tool. The ceiling has a few spider webs, most likely courtesy of Morxes and Lyrol. The corners hide nothing. The large black mass is in fact an open passage: the panel directly to it's left is another door, sealed tight.

"Um, I believe that is an open passage right in front of us. It looks like it, anyway. Let's go through there."

Monk Pretzel leads the party through the open passage into a rather claustrophobic room - it can harly hod the 4 heroes! It is esentially a stone box with only one remarkable thing:

A single red button.

OOC:

A single red button.

OOC: Huh?

"It could open a door, but then again, it could be a trap. Be careful."

*I look at the button and its surroundings. I see if there is an inscription or evidence of traps*

"Okay everyone, step out of the room and Erik use your spear to poke the button. Before you do so, though, Daxus look for traps, etc because you like doing that."

 "I just know what can happen in places such as this."

Daxus gropes around the room for any inscriptions or signs of traps, but finds none.

Erik attempts to hit the button with his spear, but it simply is a mere inch too short: the party would have to press the button themselves.

"Fine. Pretzel, get ready to heal me."

*I walk up and hit the button*

SLAM!

Daxus wearily pushes the button, only for the door to slide closed behind in in a flash: he is trapped! However, the left door opens, and reveals 2 more buttons. The top of the wall dividing has also crumbled a bit, allowing Daxus and the rest of the party to converse.

This is a top-down view.

-Red square is where Daxus is

-Blue is the rest of the party

-Grey is a sliding door

-Red dotted line is where a sliding door can appear (more will be added as you progress)

-Little red growths on the sides of walls are buttons.

What will the party do?

Edited by Endgame

"Daxus, try pressing the button in that room again. See what happens. Apart from that it doesn't look like we'll have to enter this trap and hope that one of those two buttons opens the door up. The question is, should the three of us go together? I don't see any other way for the us to be able to get in otherwise. So let's all three of us go straight forward, and push the button closer to the closed door. If one of you disagrees, speak up now or forever hold your peace."

Daxus tries pressing the button again. The left door slams shut and the right opens, reversing things to how they were before. Seeing that it'd be uselss to do that, daxus goes back and pushes the button again, Re-reversing it again.

The remaining three members went in and pressed the button closer to the entry of the left hall.

*I press the button closest to the far door*

So let's all three of us go straight forward, and push the button closer to the closed door.

Endgame, I did want to push the other button, but I suppose it's fine.

"I believe that I wanted to push the other button, but it's fine." I call as one of the others pushes the wrong button. "I guess we have no choice now, but to push it again." :hmpf:

"Daxus keep moving forward, if you can. We should be able to meet on the other side...somewhere."

QM Note: Whoops! Here is the fixed version.

After a blunder, Monk pretzel presses the button he orginally intended, giving him this.

Daxus, due to changed circumstances, please respecify your button.

*The button closest to the far door*

The party were making progress through this twisted Commerz secuirty measure - slowly.

"Press the button by the far door on your side. The doors alternate."

"What do you think is so valuable that they needed to put in all of this to protect it?"

OOC: I will tell you now, to make things easier:

Daxus will press the button farthest from his current position.

"Press the button by the far door on your side. The doors alternate."

"What do you think is so valuable that they needed to put in all of this to protect it?"

"Let's go with Daxus' plan. Erik push the said button. All this button-pushing is a bit hard on my finger."

Erik pushes the button by the far door.

"It's probably a trap."
