Round Eight of the Spawner Skirmish

As the Toxiprogg described her, this progg maiden was a feist mistress indeed. In her rage she strikes erik down with one of her claws. Mizuki downs a potion, the miraclous liquid seeping into her cuts and bruises and healing them. Monk pretzel nearly makes the Spawner Progg lay eggs again, but his seal prevents it. However, the seal grows weak and fades away.

The battle is boiling down to the wire. erik downs a potion, and watches in wonder as he scrapes and gashes fade away. Monk Pretzel fails to seal the Spawner Progg. Mizuki, reinvigorated by the brew she drank last round, pulls off an outstanding hit on the Spawner Progg.

Monk pretzel annoys the Spawner further by swooping towards it with his Broom, detaching another one of her several claws. Erik, in a babraric display of might, dashes forward with his spear. With a great leap and a powerful roar, he plunges his spear right through the Spawner Progg. Punii walks over to his mother's lifeless body, unsure about whether to be happy to sad about the loss of his family. The party gives the runt a moment of silence while they decide how to distribute the loot.

The Battle is Victorious! All heroes except Daxus gain a level.

"Right guys, we're running low on healing-ness. I reckon it's worth going back to those pedestals we left our potions on, to see if we can swap them for a gold coin. Even if we can't, I'd like to swap my cannonball for one. I'm not saying I don't like it, just these bombs seem a bit more useful for killing stuff, and yeah, we're probably going to need more potions.

So I vote we go back to that pedestal room before we fight the next lot of Proggs.

Erik opens the musty Brewer's Book, blowing dust off of it's weathered pages.

Brewing Basics

"Brewing itself is an easy art, but gathering the materials for it can be difficult or outright dangerous, depending on which brew you want to make.

Materials needed for brewing:

1 brewing barrel

Essences (ferment fruits, mix in vat, let ferment for 7 years)

Various other consumables

To brew, simply place the ingredients for your desired brew in the barrel and stir. Your concoction will come out through the valve on the other side.

Phoenix Essence

-2 Green essences

-1 Yellow Essence

-Grand Potion

-Fire Bomb

Mead

-1 Green essence

-1 Blue essence

The party will need to make a list of what to brew.

"Between us, we have 3 yellow essences, 3 blue essences, and 6 green essences, I think.

Those tonics look like a good deal, and a phoenix essence could come in handy.

I think we should make a phoenix essence, that'll use our only fire bomb, and leave us with 2 yellow essences, 3 blue essences, and 4 green essences.

Then we should make a batch of tonics, then we'll have 2 yellow essences, 2 blue essences, and 3 green essences.

With no more fire bombs, we can't make any more phoenix essences, so the rest of the yellow essences are useless.

We could use the rest of the green and blues to make 3 meads, and have a green and 2 yellows left over, but maybe we should wait 'till we've explored the rest of the place, except for fighting the Death Progg, in case there's a fire bomb or something lying around somewhere. What do you guys think?"

Daxus turns his attention away from the brewing gadget and to the barrels.

Most of them were emptied so that the Pupa's could pull off their surprise assault, but one barrel held a mighty important item:

QM note: I forgot to put door key 4 in the rewards for the spawner battle. :blush: I'll just give it to pretzel at the next loot update.

Daxus proceeds to check all the alcoves, but finds nothing else of value. The "shelf" was actually another painting.

This is considered art??
