Myrddyn Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 "There wasn't a potion or something on that shelf behind the letters in the room we just left, was there? As for these guys riddles, well, we don't have much of a choice, do we? I'll vote we take it." Erik turns to the Proggs. "You guys friends with the Toxiproggs? You could just leave this place, then you'd stay alive, and not risk having to blow yourself up. Are you really prepared to give away your lives for the Death Progg? Besides, we're from Heroica. That hall has one of the most extensive libraries in Eubric." Quote
Endgame Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) "The Toxiproggs? Have ya ever SMELLED how bad those two guys are? I don't want to be in the same country as them, let alone home. Grumble grumble... Either way, yes we'd be willing to blow ourselves up if the need arises. The last mutineer came out of the Death progg's chamber bruised and bloodied, delusional and deranged. Not happening. Either way, without further ado, the quiz begins. Question 1: What did the leader of the Orcish invasion call himself? Edited July 14, 2012 by Endgame Quote
LEGOman273 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 OOC: Just a note: As I haven't read the Library thread in a while - and neither has Daxus - I will not now, in order to ensure that character knowledge is player knowledge. Quote
Endgame Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 QM Note: Ah, you picked that up. Yes, the answers to all of these questions can be found buried in the Library topic. Whether or not you decide to read it is up to you entirely. Making sacrifices to keep it real spice up your character a lot, LEGOman, in my opinion. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 "That's easy enough. I didn't need to have studied in the library to know that. I fought in the wars myself, I did, back in the day when I was a paladin. Slew a good number of orcs in righteous combat. The evil orc's name was Ta'okai, curse the foul word itself. There is an "r" between the "a" and the "o", but to say the name is to invite the orcish curse upon one's self. Curse his name forever, and curse you proggs for even thinking of uttering a reference to it in my presence!" Quote
Endgame Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 "Not bad Monk! Question 2: What are the symbols of Isiris? Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Erik closes the door behind him, and turns to the Proggs. "As for you lot, if we fail the quest, you blow us up, right? How will you survive? And you don't need to mutiny, just leave these vaults." Two posts while I was typing. Edited July 14, 2012 by Myrddyn Quote

If you complete the game suscessfully, we give you the parts and scram. And to clarify on the last question, folks, there is more than one correct answer!" Edited July 14, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Zakura hasn't been online for a while, but I gave her the potion in exchange for one gold coin, just so you know. Also Zakura, since a lot of pages have been added today Monk Pretzel was asking Mizuki if she wanted so sell her smoke bomb to him for 5 gold. Quote
Endgame Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 QM note: I saw her online today, but she didn't post. I'll do the potion trade next loot update. "Okay, smartypants monk, gonna answer question 2 or what?" Quote
Palathadric Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 And to clarify on the last question, folks, there is more than one correct answer!" "I would not know this. I don't spend a lot of time reading up on false gods, but I do believe an acquaintance of mine was devoted to him/her. That person embodied wind, but that doesn't seem to have anythign to do with it, let us see if one of the others would know." Quote
Endgame Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 "Well, that is unfortunate. would you like to pass on the question? If you do it'll be asked later when the other 7 questions have been asked. Assuming you haven't failed by that point... haha." Quote
Palathadric Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) "Apart from wind though, the only thing I can think of it being associated with is the tribe of horse herders far to the north that I encountered in my travels. Their name sounded similar to this. Otherwise Isiris could have something to do with an eye." "Don't give me that snotty look, devil. The only reason we are bothering to take this little quiz of yours and not downright kill you, is that you are freakishly jittery and may bump into any of those explosives whether suicidally or not. If you hate the death progg so much then scram. I'll give you a minute's head start before we come after you. At least you will have had a chance unlike here." What are you hoping will happen once we answer the questions anyway? Huh? What will you do then? What does such knowledge mean to you anyway? Is Isiris your god? Perhaps his symbol would be a demon then, or perhaps not a regular demon but one that looks similiar to yourself. Hmm?" I'm seriously clueless here. Edited July 15, 2012 by Palathadric Quote

Try to narrow it down!" Quote
Palathadric Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 "Ummm, sorry proggs for attempting to teach me grammar, but I gave it to you in three separate sentences. You haven't answered my questions yet either. I will guess that you haven't heard of the band of roving horse herders, so I guess I'll go with the eye for now. Devilish symbolism by all means!" Endgame, see my above post, I had edited it with further questions to the proggs. Also, you mentioned that there were other symbols. I am guessing an eye is one, another I was thinking of was a flower, but what were other correct answers? Quote

Your other possible answers were "Ether" and "Unknown". "Snotty? I have no nose! Us proggs do not worship anyone (except the patriarch, and that is out of fear). When you complete the game, we scram. This siutation is basically lose-lose for us, because we either have to leave, die, or get nabbed by the death progg and his sidekick. But here is question 3. If you don't get this one, I'm disgusted. Question 3: Which of the original veterans was said to die a hermit?" Quote
Palathadric Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 "Are you looking for the truth here? I guess not. The truth is that it was the cleric. The righteous one who received much slander after he went and lived the life of a hermit. Otherwise, the common fable is that the dwarf did. That's a lie though, but you said "was said to". "If you're going to scram when we answer the questions correctly why not just do so now? What will asking questions of us help you any?" Quote
Endgame Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 "Correct. the doomsayer was said to die a hermit on a remote island off of Eubric's coast. that is what the histroy books say, at any rate. Do you still not get it? Every scenario ends with us dying, fleeing, or getting apprehend by the Death Progg and his apprentice. We might as well have a little bit of fun before those things happen, am I right? Anyway, moving on. Question 4: Which family came to Eubric in a flying ship?" Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 "Don't lock me in for this, but that'd have to be the Ji Pei. They're the only family new enough for anyone to remember how they got here, and no-one else has that sort of technology anyway." "What's this about an apprentice?" Quote

"The Death Progg's right-hand man and also his apprentice calls himself "Juggernaut". A bit of a melodramitic name if ya ask me, but it is somewhat fitting. He is the one who teaches the clan how to fight. In fact, I am due for training with him in 2 days, but assuming you guys kill him, that won't happen, heh. Rumor says Death Progg himself taught Juggernaut how to fight, so he is pretty tough. He's always skulking around the entrance to the Death Progg's den - treats the dictator like he is family." The larva glances at this rest of the party. "Any of ya gonna second this man's answer?" Quote
Endgame Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 "Wow, you guys have an IQ higher than your shoe size! Who woulda thought! Question 5: Name at least 3 of notable members of the Hinckwells. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 "I think that one of them is Heinrich or Henrich. I'm not sure of the spelling pronunciation." Quote

Just get it as close to the real name as you can, and assuming it's recognizable, I can take it. Begrudgingly." Quote
