lightningtiger Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Australians don't do health and safety. We do.....sometimes too much ! Safety signs are being planned.....okay, today I'll make some.....update later on ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Just a little something I was thinking to make the scene a little livelier Which is......? I have to dig up some orange tiles today so I can finish the safety signs - the jackhammer work is going in a totally new place in the beginning of an intersection where a 1x2 tile is missing perfect for a hole in the road ! Now do we have any suggestions for railway warning lights, etc., and NO not the ones to warn cars/trucks.....I'm talking of trackside lighting/warning systems ? Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Such a small side project but it works.....looks just like a real road working scene.......again more to come so keep suggesting and watching too ! Quote
monsinjor Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Looks great and so real... I really like this last picture. Safety first! I would add some round bricks around the jackhammer to represent pieces of rock/road just to add to the realism Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Thanks and you're right some rubble around the hole.....why didn't I think of that ? Suggestions.....suggestions for the town even if it's small......try my designing skills.....keep watching too ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Sorry meant that as the road signs and safety stuff which by the way came out great. No problems, with Christmas coming up Monday will be the only day of the week I be able to do any MOCing what so ever......so please any suggestions for small things to try and add I would be grateful. Alasdair Ryan Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 You should add some some of those striped 2x3 cones for......cones. If your town is still cash strapped when they finish the road works they could use you as some extra fill. Quote

I was actually thinking of something similar - I'll scratch them up on LDD to see how they look and then make them........and use me for extra fill......I know I need to lose weight ! Keep watching......hey, I haven't said that for a few days......amazing ! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Long time, no see this project. As usually, LT, you make incredible buildings. Small, classic style buildings, but so richly detailed. I look forward to see something on the track ;) Keep up the good work. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Thanks 'Iaka', good to hear from you again.......something on the track yes....since I had to cancel my train layby - I will have to order track packs and of course build a shunter.....after buying a battery box......I'm only a so-so train designer so I'll try my best. lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Great work (no pun intended) on the work area signs good to see some more progress being made Thanks 'soccerkid6' and I wonder if that road worker's name is Bob......get he fix it ? (cool I have a name for him.....now to name everyone else ) Keep watching on Monday (+9.30 G.M.T.) to see what else I have come up with.....remember a few suggestions might be a little handy ? Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Well, this will be the last photo update for 2012..... Tossed together this signal this morning. Now it's Christmas time......in the last days before Christmas the local council remembered to put up lights....... Now has anyone noticed a visitor to New Mannum....... "What over-drawn ? !" "Pardon Me, can I speak to you about a new overdraft ?" 2013 more is coming....... To everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS from the tiger and his family......plus all the minifigs who live and work in the humble Aussie town of New Mannum. Brick On with that Christmas feeling ! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Merry Christmas to you and your family, too, LT. It's good to see an "everyday" LEGO town with Christmas decorations. But... But... Where is the snow? Here in Denmark, we have got snow right now. But we have got temperatures above 0 degrees (Celsius... ;o) And they expect rain. But I hope, it will not come, so we can have a white Christmas... (written at the same time as "I Dreaming of a White Christmas" is being played at the radio). Btw, I like the way, you have made the signal with the diagonally placed lights. And I am pretty sure, your train will turn out just fine. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Thanks 'Iaka', and I sent you Christmas wishes in a PM too you. Now we don't get snow in Oz at Christmas time.....just warm to hot weather.....26 deg.C I think tomorrow for Christmas day. Please any more ideas toss them to me to try out.......keep watching with that Christmas feeling ! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Look very festive, but just the one cone? Is that you in the Santa suite? It would be very fitting if it was since he is pictured visiting the bank manager. Have a sunny Christmas. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Well, ha,ha.....just because I have a scotch/beer/cola gut instantly makes me Santa eh ? Brick On and MERRY CHRISTMAS 'Alasdair' ! Quote
Wedge09 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I really like your work with this city street, in particularly the man with the jackhammer  (Are you sure that with only two signals, the minifig working isn't invested by trucks or cars?? ) Even Santa Claus with the crisis must make ATM withdrawals??? Quote
Kristel Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Merry Christmas, Lightning. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I've really enjoyed watching New Mannum evolve and look forward to following its progress in the New Year! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 25, 2012 Author Posted December 25, 2012 Thanks 'Kristel'.....merry Christmas to you too and yes, 'Soccerkid06' I need to make more vehicles in the next few months before the train show. Any suggestions are still welcome.....remember to keep on watching in 2013. Quote
tomdobs55 Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Very nice LT! Merry Christmas to all! We actually have a white Christmas this year, do you have a green Christmas? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 The road is almost new but it already needs a repair! Very original idea and perfect realization ...as usual LT! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 Thanks for the feedback 'LT12V' and 'tomdobs'......yeah a green Christmas indeed. Anyway do we have any fresh ideas for 2013 you would like to see appear in New Mannum.......note - no more room for buildings ? Quote
