Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) My Hero entry for the contest: Sentinel Name: Clint Johnson. Abilities: Advanced strength and agility, rapid healing. Alliegence: Hero. Age: 35. Height: 6ft 4in Weight: 275kg Clint Johnson was a Security Guard working in a Gotham city art gallery when he was crippled during a robbery. In the dead of night, a gang of thugs broke into the gallery and began a vicious gunfight with the guards. In the frantic scrambling to call for help, Clint was hit by a stray bullet from one of the robbers. Immediately he fell to the ground and began to bleed viciously, one of the thugs knocked over a large display stand while rushing to secure goods, and the unfortunate Johnson was unable to move in time. He blacked out, his body broken by the heavy wood, leaving the gang robbers to escape with thousands of dollers worth of paintings and sculptures. Clint, barely alive in hospital, was angered at his failure. The doctors told his family than he wouldn't last the weekend. The stricken guard was volunteered to take part in a clinical drugs trial, the newest addition to the medicine cabinet boasting muscle and tissue regenerative abilities. Clint was administered the chemical while in a coma, and the medical staff stood dumbstruck as he was revived from death's door by the fledgling drug. His muscles and flesh was reformed and rebuilt, and the drug kept on restoring him, even to an extent that he never possessed before. When Clint Johnson awoke, he found himself considerably stronger and more agile than he used to be, with a incredibly dense muscle structure; yet functioned with an impressive speed. The drug had given him more than a full recovery. Johnson was still agonising about the success of the raid that nearly killed him, so, with his new abilities, decided to do something about it. Clint constructed a bright yellow and dark blue costume with helmet, and donned the moniker of Sentinel. He called himself the 'Guardian of Gotham City', and made sure that word spread quickly of the newest additiont to the crime-fighting force. In stark contrast to the dark and secretive methods of the Batman, Sentinel would rush in fearlessly, and beat down thugs with a variety of gold-coloured staves and bars, openly demonstrating his skill and great strength as much as possible. Sometimes he would even leave messages for the police as to where they would find the gang members once he had broken them. Clint's new strength was nearly unmatched, and he used his advanced reflexes to always stay one step ahead of the goons. As a bonus, remenents of the drug that had made him still flowed through his veins, causing almost any injury he sustains to be rapidly healed by the fluids. Sentinel patrols the streets of Gotham, and all who come accross him stand little chance of victory. He has worked with Batman on many occassions, usually taking care of the grunts while Wayne deals with the main threat. He is recognised by the media and isn't afraid to be interviewed and filmed, very unlike the attitude of many other heroes. Clint Johnson swears to himself that one day, he will find the art gallery robbers and give them a taste of the Guardian's justice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sentinel's appearance was mainly inspired by me wondering what a yellow skin torso would look like if made to be a costume. I chose the Ocean King's torso, because it had a few less lines, making it look more suitable. There is nothing much on his back, as I wanted to make this an entirely purist entry. One day it would be fun to make a reversed Sentinel in yellow with a 'flesh' costume... The costings!: Torso: £1.52 (Surfer torso, which is the closest on Bricklink to the one that I used) Head: £0.89 (Star Wars pilot) Helmet: £0.46 (Hockey player) Legs: £0.22 (I swapped to yellow hips) Stave: £0.57 (Gold bar with end stop) Total: £3.66 Thanks for reading, C&C is appreciated. The Penguin Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Just a great exaple how purist figures with basic colours can look good! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Tommi Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 He's like the antithesis of Bane. I bet they're going to be bitter rivals. Great fig. Good luck! Quote
