WetWired Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Photo and article link Locals of Broken Hill woke up this weekend and rubbed their eyes in disbelief at the sight of a magical mystery surprise. A life-sized LEGO® Forest has risen from the red soil creating a colourful contrast against the iconic vibrant landscape.Last seen surrounded by concrete in central Sydney, the Forest will now remain in Broken Hill’s red dust plains and blue skies of far-western NSW until July 12. There are 15 of the famous LEGO ‘pine’ trees and flower sets that have been recreated to a 1:1 ratio of the original pieces, but supersized to be 66 times bigger to make you feel like you’re playing in your very own LEGO universe! Their new home is the breathtaking Living Desert,a unique 2400ha reserve with spectacular views and numerous walking trails allowing any intrepid explorers to either get up close and personal with the Forest or climb to a vantage point and marvel at them from afar – both cases providing some amazing photography possibilities. Scroll down on this link to see them setting up the trees in Sydney CBD Quote
Fugazi Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 What a beautiful and slightly surreal photo! I'd love to have a few of those trees and flowers in my backyard! Quote
Emperor Krulos Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Hi just found this on gizmodo. Awesome way to celebrate their 50th anniversary: Flood an australian town with giant sized Lego Plants. Quote
Fugazi Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Thanks for the link, but this has already been posted a couple of days ago. I will merge the topics shortly. Quote
