Posted July 4, 201212 yr Hi all. This is my latest MOC, A Racing Truck. It uses 1 PF XL motor for drive, 1 PF M motor for the steering and 1 battery box and 1 IR receiver. It has a working hood, working doors and a fake 4 cylinder engine with super charger. The suspension it uses is similar to the 8110 Unimog but they won't move like pendular suspension. They just go up and down. I only have one U-Joint so i had to improvise with the front suspension/steering. On with the pictures: And a video of it: And that it. I hope you liked it. :)
July 4, 201212 yr There is some nice functionality in your model! The old-fashioned "studded" body panels makes it look like the Racing Truck is dinged-up with rock dents!

July 4, 201212 yr I like it. I love it when MOCers build stuff with many different colors that don't match - that proves they are able to build great stuff with a more limited collection. Which in turn makes me feel guilty of not building great MOCs with my huge collection, which would allow me to stick to any color I want.
July 5, 201212 yr I think you did a good job of disguising the PF components with the model. I am wondering about the steering, it seems a little slow. Is the front axle particularly heavy? I would think that a medium motor would have enough torque that it could move a steering column fast enough for easy RC operation. I noticed in your video that you only turned the wheels while the vehicle was stationary.

July 5, 201212 yr Author Thanks for all the great comments all. :) I think you did a good job of disguising the PF components with the model. I am wondering about the steering, it seems a little slow. Is the front axle particularly heavy? I would think that a medium motor would have enough torque that it could move a steering column fast enough for easy RC operation. I noticed in your video that you only turned the wheels while the vehicle was stationary. Thanks. It actually works fairly well driving it and moving the wheels at the same time. I just didn't think to do that in the video. The reason the steering is slow is because i used a couple of worm gears connected to a 24 tooth gear. you can just about see the worm gear in this picture: I think a little washing wouldn't hurt these pieces. Yeah most of my pieces need a clean. I just haven't quite gotten round to it yet.
