I wouldn't recommend that, I'm da bomb you know. Look at this sexy security vest!

Good point. That sexy vest is so hot, it must be lined with explosives! :sceptic:

 Bad pun sickness! It may be spreading. Keep your distance.

Sorry folks I'm working the night shift in the engine room. First off I have to say that in my eyes Dakar A seems more like the possible scum, editing someone's post is a more definite scummy action than having a joking manner to me. That being said, the easiest solution would appear to be that Palathadric is the Godfather, even so, I think coming out on the first day with a play style that is screaming to be investigated is too forward of a tactic and not one that I think a team of scum would encourage their Godfather to do, but hey I've been wrong before. I would like to caution us however against the philosophy that an annoying townie is a useless townie and might as well be lynched, every townie is a 1 up we have on the scum and to think otherwise results in only the scum benefiting in the long run. That being said it seems like Palathadric's lynch will prove potentially helpful in discerning yesterday's voting pattern as compared to Dakar A. Thus I'm going to vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathadric).

Vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathdric)

I think this is the best course of action for us today, but not because I find him to be especially suspicious on his own. His joking around was equal parts stupid and suspicious, and had I been the recipient, I would have likely brought it to public attention as well. It's not inherently scummy, but definitely worth at least some suspicion. The really valuable part of a lynch against him today will be the insight it will give us tomorrow. Several of us have, from the get-go, exhibited confidence in his loyalty. Were their instincts correct? Did they have some information we didn't? Was McAndrews(Tammo) in the right, yesterday, to split the vote? Conversely, if he turns out to be a Purist, we have, at the very least, a bunch of commas a solid lead for tomorrow--Why were these folks so dutifully covering him? Has Campbell (Dakar A) been acting blatantly scummy just to draw attention away? Are we being strung along? Will Hinckley (wait, who's that?) out his band of space bandits in a moment of weakness and mental anguish tomorrow? Will a giant asteroid crash into our lovely ship and send us hurtling into the cold, dark reaches of space?

Ensign Campbell has repeatedly assured us that his actions would be utterly stupid for a scum to make, as though that clears him of guilt (mmmm, wine). When he (mis)quoted Wright(CallMePie), my first thought was "Well, Wright did clarify a names-issue in one of his comments. Honest mistake?" Once I reread the comment though, it appeared clear (to me) that Campbell's name-replacement was not the one intended by Wright. It could have so easily been avoided by quoting the actual text, and following it with a note that Campbell believed the quote was referring to himself. Given the ease of safer alternatives, I can see no good reason for a Loyalist to tamper with a quote.

While Campbell has been acting far from towny, I feel that we will get a much greater benefit and more leads by lynching Pewter.

Vote: Ensign Brian Pewter, security (Palathadric)

Regardless of Pewter's allegiance, there will be useful information to be derived both from yesterday's vote and today's discussions. It's obvious that despite a landslide vote opinions on Pewter are not unanimous, which is a good thing.

The scum role line-up is certainly a powerful combination, so it's for the best that we don't decide publicly who the vig should target. The scum might protect our target and try to block our watcher. All in all, it's safer to trust the vig to decide privately and return to Campbell's case tomorrow.

Vote: Engisn Brian Pewter (Palathadric)

Let's not have our vig kill Dakar since they have a watcher. Let's kill someone else. If Dakar is Scum, I'm sure his team knows he'll be tracked, watched etc... Hopefully they're not dumb enough to use him tonight...that is, if Dakar is even Scum.

Do you know something which we don't? Namely that the Power roles are the same is in the simulation? Spoiler alert: They most probably are not. I don't like how you try to change things at the last point, and I don't like how there are idiots that agree with you just for the sake of agreeing with you. Don't get me wrong, I think you are town, but the plan is solid, and does not need changing.

Besides, I think 1 power role for 1 scum is a very good ratio, don't you agree? Add to that that we can probably protect the power role, and block the baddies.

If he's town, Rockford is the clear choice for tomorrow. If he is scum, then we can kill off Campbell, if he survives the night.

Sad to see one of my own security personnel going, but I guess it is possible for these activists to have infiltrated even the strong ranks of my force.

Why would you be so sure Rockford is scum if I'm town? I think we've gone over this before.

This is abandonment, Mr. Chief of Security, sir.

Vote Tally:

Ensign Pewter / Palathadric: 15 (Dragonator, Brickdoctor, CallMePie, Hinckley, Scouty, darkdragon, KingOfTheZempk, Shadows, Inconspicious, Waterbrick Down, Rufus, Awesome Star, swils, Fugazi, Scubacarrot)

Ensign Campbell / Dakar A: 1 (Tamamono)

Lt. Arnold Daly's Hair: 1 (Hinckley)

15 out of 21 have voted for Palathadric, so he is to be lynched at this point. You still have 36 or so hours.

Do we have to be dicks to have a discussion? :hmpf: A dickussion? So, who's agreeing with me? I've seen one person agree. Are you calling Foog an idiot? That's not very nice. I agree with you, then. Let's kill Dakar. Is there a way to connect our protector to our vig the following night to ensure the Scum don't remove him from the game?

There's never a dull moment with this group. I have to say, this is my first time playing with a lot of you and well ... it's fun. There's never a dull moment. I just got this from Palathadric:

Hink, since it looks like I will be lynched, I may as well come clean. I am part of a second faction. There's only two of us. We're called The Fanon. Not sure why. But our job is to find the other scum team, and if we do, we merge and they get an additional action. Just to let you know what you're up against...or missing if you're a Purist. I've sent this to a couple people, hoping to connect with the Purists. Your constant "WIFOM" made me think that you could be purist as it looks like you're trying to undermine everyone's theories and confuse everyone. If you're not a purist, well then I'm making the whole thing up. You can appreciate the position I'm in, I hope. :sceptic:

The most important thing about this is the implication that I'm Scum. Am I really coming off Scummy to people? :look: Does this uniform make my megablocks look fat? My ego can only stand a discussion that revolves around me. Let's ignore this two faction news and talk about me.

But, if we have to talk about the Fanon, let's. I remember a holovid called Baritones 3 where there were two Scum factions of three people each that needed to find each other to become one. Has the Admiral gone all sneaky-pants and split his Scum up and is forcing them to find one another? To change it up from the simulation? Or is there some trick in this that I'm not seeing? Either way, it appears we've made the right choice for today. :sweet:

What the megabluck does Fanon mean anyway?

Well, if we go my initial plan, we have the watcher on Ensign "Dakar" Campbell. That way we have a solid way of identifying the vig. Now, I don't know if we have a protector identified yet, but that way we can ensure protection on the vig from then on. How does that sound?

And I think it's your playstyle, I played with you in the IMHOTEP case, and I know your playstyle from then. It's confusing at first. But yeah, you give me a solid town vibe, while if I was not aware of how you play, you might have given me mixed messages. If you know what I mean.

And: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frantz_Fanon I think that's what's being get at, anyway. Anti colonialists, apparantly.

OK. But, what about the PM? Do you think he's just trying to confuse us? Personally, I don't think we can trust anything Pewter says. :sceptic:

Well, I don't think it's a reason not to lynch him. He is scum, anyway you turn it. :sceptic:

Well there you go! Down with him already. This nicely explains the mind-boggling behaviour of Ensign Pewter.

It's too bad that we don't know who else received this message and would have had a chance to post it before you did, Falcon. Now scum will all know for sure who to contact if they want to merge with these Fanon guys. :look: Well Fanon minus one, that is.

:wall: I always forget there's a reason to hang onto things instead of making everything public. I tend to think having everything transparent is best for the Town. Maybe Pewter knew I would broadcast that and now we've got a Scum alliance behind the scenes. :cry_sad: Oops, sorry.

No. He literally replaced his name in the quote. Why would someone do that?

Ensign Campbell (Dakar A), You blatantly re-wrote the wording of what you quoted when we still have the original post to reference. The arrow in your quote leads back to Pie's original statement.

*huh* I don't even understand what that would accomplish... Some reason to seem like an obvious lynch choice because palathdric is more valuable? Let's just start with that. Why did you change the quote, Campbell? :hmpf_bad:

Page 15 already!? I have been so busy with work recently and a conference that I went to at the beginning of the week that all I've had time for is to leave two comments in the heroica quest I'm a part of... there's no way I'll be able to read thru all of these pages

Hi everyone, I'm popping in to leave my worthless comments! If he actually did replace his name, instead of just making a mistake, then that seems awfully scummy to me because a townie wouldn't have anything to cover up for. So yes, why did he change the quote?

(yes I've quit using purple text )

It's answered, man. No offense, but if you don't have time to participate, it's actually more useful for the town if you have someone else take over.

Well if they're really only two, the scum will only gain one member. A shame, but what can we do now?

The real issue is that it invalidates everything that we were hoping to achieve by looking at the vote tallies tomorrow. The main scum team couldn't have known the real allegiance of Pewter, so they were probably happy to vote for him. :hmpf_bad:

Unless he comes up as a Purist. Then we'll know he was just being tricksy and our voting record will be something to scrutinize.

I hope that hair gets voted out. :sceptic:

Personally, I think it should be standard regulations that all crew should be bald. Get on that, Admiral.

Indeed it does, and I wouldn't feel too bad about the teams finding each other because of your post, I'm sure they aren't so stupid that they wouldn't have made a last minute post revealing it anyway for that same purpose.

I hope that hair gets voted out. :sceptic:

What are the odds that anyone would unvote him now after the hard work has been done? No, whatever scum haven't voted yet will rush to do so to appear to have been right there with us, but we'll know it's one more thing to analyze tomorrow.

Personally, I think it should be standard regulations that all crew should be bald. Get on that, Admiral.

I wouldn't complain...
