Haha, I just watch the Umbaran Episodes again and I had forgotten those AT-RT's actually land on the battlefield by jumping out the back of a LAAT/i. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to to that with this one!

Thanks for sharing this! I was crossing my finger for Janson or Hobbie on Planet Hoth but this figure is amazing! I will buy several of this! Snowspeeder looks great for me!

Nice printing on the Snowspeeder pilot and B-wing pilot.

The Snowspeeder pilot has Dak's helmet though, right? Probably skip it.

Well, the box only shows "Snowspeeder Pilot", there were a many pilots that used that helmet during Hoth Evacuation.

Looks like TLG start to make even bigger regular sets, the little kids can buy the planet sets with low price and the real fans continue buying the regular sets. The new battle packs are bigger and this summer are more 'big sets' , so i think we gonna get even bigger sets through the planets.

I never noticed that before, I though they all had individual markings. Thanks for sharing.

My thoughts on the sets:

Le_swrepubliktroopersvssithtroopersa.jpg

Never played SWTOR but impressed by the sets. If the trend follows and the January sets are released around the holiday season, I'll be sure to pick one or two up. Not overly impressed with the vehicle, but has good MOCing pieces.

Le_swclonetroopersvsdroidekasa.jpg

This is probably one of the best sets released in a long time. Not because of the droidekas or the building component which claims to be a command center. But it's been a long time since we got an Episode II set. I'll probably Bricklink the clones, since the droidekas are awful.

Le_swatrta.jpg

The build is okay, other than the fact that Lego made it a tad to large. I love the 501st clone and commando droid. Not too happy about Yoda, however. Also like the sniper droideka. Again, maybe I'll get it for MOCing.

Le_swawingstarfightera.jpg

This was probably the most needless set of the wave. We don't need Ackbar or Han, and the pilot dies. The A-Wing itself isn't a unique build, which leads me to think Lego is being lazy. I'd probably find a use for Ackbar's head and pilot's helmet, though.

Headhunter2012.jpg

Ah... the Z-95. Hopefully I'll be still psyched by January that I'll want this set. Unfortunately, I can't really see much since Lego didn't have the right mind to give us decent images. Maybe hi-res Krell will come sometime this month. Only set I'm actually positive about. Oh, well...

Rancorpit1.jpg

One of my favorite scenes from the movie. Not overly impressed by the build, but I like the rancor. I like the element of connectivity with Palace.

Although this set has MOC potential, the only impressing thing is Obi-Wan. Unless I'm mistaken, he seems to have a new hairpiece. Not planning on buying anything from this set.

As we come to a close, let me just say that this set is a disgrace to Lego. Ahsoka's lightsabers, inaccurate size - the Umbarans resemble Clawdites. The build has some MOC potential, as with the Umbarans.

I think they would have been better off building the Umbaran hovering tank. Its not a complex design like the MHC and fits better in the Umbaran arc since it sees more action.

I never noticed that before, I though they all had individual markings. Thanks for sharing.

Also if you check the Episode IV, V and VI, you will see it the same helmets, for example, you can see on this picture, Red Leader's helmet (Episode IV) on the left, behind Princess Leia, Tiree's helmet from Episode IV, Hobbie's helmet is the same that Dutch Vander used during battle of Yavin, Porkins' helmet is used by another Hoth Pilot, is in this scene at the right.

I found this small picture of Admiral Ackbar, do not know if custom or LEGO.

But I really like this new version.

Apparently is the figure for A-Wing Starfighter.

I agree. To add on to that, the hover tank would probably have more interesting building strategies, and a lower price. But we'd still get the same hideous Umbaran soldiers.

It's definitelly custom.

Nice to see the Planet Set pics - thanks guys  Most of these are 'must haves' for me but as usual mostly for the figures.

I can imagine the white Hoth planet pieces being useful in MOCs and I think we could even expect some innovative use of the (already much hated) asteroid field. I really like the look of the B-Wing Pilot but the inclusion of printed legs on the Snow-speeder Pilot will mean yet more mis-matched figs - curse your excellent design department TLG! The JSF/Kamino set I will buy because I just love to collect those astromechs :grin_wub: . My only disappointment is self-inflicted; even after seeing the prelims I was still hoping against hope that Tantive IV would come with Captain Antilles - Bricklink here I come

Personally, I prefer the MHC. Of course it doesn't match the scale, but that's true for pretty much every Star Wars vehicle Lego made.

On the upside, the MHC looks pretty neat and accurate. To me, it was a big surprise; I never assumed that this vehicle would ever make it into a set.

They're not clones. The Republic Army back in the time of the Old Republic was all non-cloned. Also, the "red one" wasn't a commander, at least, not of the standard Republic Army, he was in Havoc Squad, the group you see in the Hope trailer...

Thanks for the info! With that in mind, I'm actually glad now that they added in these orange Republic troopers- but that still doesn't excuse the fact that the Havoc squad trooper (Jace Malcolm?) doesn't have a helmet... :cry_sad:

Also, sorry if someone has already pointed this out, but both of the Sith troopers in TOR BP are new- the black one has new leg printing! Can I get an amen? :excited:

Nice to finally see the Snowspeeder pilots get different uniforms to the X-Wing ones. And I'm very impressed with the ammount of detail put into both rebel pilots. Shame the addition of leg printing had to come one year too late - would have been nice if Gold Leader, Porkins and Luke came with it in this year's sets.

Not exactly a new piece. The ROTS Obi-Wan minifigure used it in this year's Jedi Interceptor set. Although it is the first time the Clone Wars Obi-Wan has used it.

I don't like the Droidekas.

Hoth looks really interesting to me.

Don't worry, Gold Leader, Porkins, and Luke minfigs will be updated when their sets are re-released in a couple of years.

Yes,perhaps they will gather in the rumored set UCS Yaavin Base.

This is the worse minifig I have ever seen.....

I hope they straighten this one out.....what a mish-mash minifig ! *huh*

Ofcourse they'll straighten this out

My guess is that he'll at least get an other paintjob on his head, possibly even a new sculpt, and I don't think they'll use the extra torso from NinjaGo, but a new one.

Then, with prints added etc. it'll look fine

Yeah, it's probably just a stand in for the moment, so we can get an idea how the final will look like (extended torso from Ninjago, etc.).

If thet would use de Bosk head it would be a real dissapointment :cry_sad:

Oh my, are they serious with those Droidekas? I swear, those are getting worse with every incarnation. :hmpf:

The whole wave is... alright, I guess, but too Clone Wars-heavy. The only set I was considering getting previously was the A-Wing, but since it doesn't seem to be the sort of massive improvement over the last ones, I won't have to buy it.

I agree with you there, but the new variations are aesthetically pleasing. What I'd like is a droideka that looks good aesthetically that can still roll up into a ball.
