If this hoth set is really a "big battle pack", it would be great if Lego could make one of those every year, starting next year with battle of geonosis, then battle of endor, and all those other big battles...

The two snowspeeder pilots on the second hoth base piture could mean that luke has got a two-sided face, one side with visor, other side without.

I don't know, the Hoth set looks okay but a 'super-set' it is not. Come on lego, if you're going to call something a 'super-set' go all out otherwise you make yourselves look bad

As long as they are priced like a big battle pack and not inflated like many other sets.

BTW does any know where to get a few of 8083, 8084 and 8129 other than bricklink and somewhere that ships to Australia would be awesome?

You could try the Austrailian E-Bay, that would be your best bet. Everywhere else would be stupid expensive, shipping wise that is. I order almost all my stuff from E-Bay, Amazon, or Bricklink.

TLG didn't call it a super pack, as far as I can see. Some people here referred to is as a suer BP...that's nothing TLG said.

Liking the new planet sets. Although very disappointed that Lego didn't include a Kaminoan with the Kamino planet.

I'm a big Hoth fan and have pretty much all the Hoth/Hoth related sets; however I'm a bit disappointed in this latest Hoth set. I was hoping for a new Hoth scene, and 7879 wasn't great. It has some good features, but TLG strayed too far from the movies with the set. 7749 is the worst of the Hoth sets, IMHO. The turret is wrong, the rebels are off, and like others mentioned, its not a trench. 7666 is a good set, but still a bit lacking in features.

I figured we wouldn't be getting a new Hoth scene this year, and I had small hopes it would be a proper rebel base, or an ion cannon set. But nope, just another big battle pack.

I'll still buy this one, I like General Rieekan and it looks like we'll finally have a decent dish turret; but enough with the snow speeder bikes.

I have all the hoth sets, except the ridiculous 2011 Hoth Echo base, so it will be a great extra to put in with the others. :)

Wow. The second wave in a row without a R2D2. I have probably around 10. Props to LEGO.

Okay (not ok-ey), the 75007 planet Coruscant set has the Acclamator without red markings. Are we to assume that this a new Imperial acclamator as opposed to the republic assault ship it says it is? Is the minifig supposed to be a pilot clone? the picture shows a plain clone, I like the set anyway. I'm sure to get several of these, but what the heck am I going to do with all those planet halves? :sceptic:

In AotC the Acclamators do not have the red markings yet. The markings appear when the fleet is uniformized, later in the Clone Wars era, if I remember correctly.

Okay, thanks. You might be right about that, some pictures show it with red, and some don't have it. I just think it's weird not to have a uniform paint job on all your ships. Still it will be easy to replace the grey tile up front with a red one I suppose.

Thats going to my issue as well. I plan on buying A LOT of those clone planet sets, but I won't have a need for all those planet pieces.

All of these sets are amazing. i for one am looking forward to the new Hoth set as it will be a great chance to expand my already detailed lego display. Can't wait to get the new Probe Droid and the Rieekan.

The Hoth set is not bad, but I'm definitely disappointed... in the past couple years, we've seen tons of brilliant re-imaginings of previously-released sets, like the Gungan Sub, the Podracers, the new X-Wing, the new Y-wing, and the new TIE Fighter. Whereas this snowspeeder has no major changes from the previous one besides colors... and the Snowspeeder is one model that could really use some updating.

I don't mind remakes of already-released vehicles one bit, but it feels frustrating when there aren't any significant changes from version to version.

(Disclaimer: I don't collect LEGO Star Wars sets; I merely observe. So my thoughts on them probably don't make a lick of difference to TLG or the LSW community at large.)

Since I don't own a snowspeeder yet i can't wait for the Hoth set. i just hope it isn't too expensive.

I partly agree. I do not see, however, that major changes of the snowspeeder are possible without makig a new windscreen. The changes of the X-Wing are nice, but I wouldn't call them "major" due to the lacking of a new windscreen; it robbs a lot from 9493 of its "X-Wing-ishness". To me, the same is true for the Y-Wing, although here, it seems less important.

I can not wait for the 2013 Lego Star Wars sets now. Looks very exciting and now need to plan which sets to buy. But at the moment I'm leaning towards the OT sets.

Possible Endor Leia hair?

-Sci

Wow, Great find CM4S! That hair looks like it was made for an Endor Leia, and I wouldn't be suprised if it was used on her this years. I think the Summer Wave is slowly coming together now as a picture from the new Yoda book was released which depicted a Episode 2 looking Republic Gunship being piloted by a new looking PT Yoda and now this. I really hope these are the first signs from lego that pictures of the summer sets aare coming soon!

You might be on to something there. We've had rumors of an Ewok village forever and that hairpiece looks perfectly like Leia's hair.
