Well, I'm not very impressed by this line-up; there are way too many Clone Wars sets. I don't like the way those minifigures look.

I dig TOR BP and the Rancor Pit, those will be purchases next year. I guess I will be able to spend my money building my Star Wars room instead of on LEGOS. LOL

I gotta say, I'm surprisingly pleased by these sets. It is extremely trooper centric, which I'm glad about. I'm thinking I'll need to get the BARC set. The new Rex and Obi-Wan figs look amazing! I definitely want about two of each BP. The Umbarra set looks decent too, but I hate how you only get one 212th trooper, so I may need to get some more of them. Same goes for the single 501st trooper with the AT-RT, unless there are more in the Z-95. I'm upset that we haven't seen any pics of Krell yet, and it seems like we aren't gonna get an ARC version of Fives, which is really upsetting, since the Z-95 would have been the perfect chance for that fig. Regardless, this is gonna be an very good army building wave for my Republic forces.

I'm disappointed that there are only 3 movie sets, the rest being from either TOR or TCW.

Well, I'm not very impressed by this line-up; there are way too many Clone Wars sets.

+ other similar sentiments.

I do believe TLG is making a conscious effort to please both the older movie fans and newer CW series generation with the sets they're releasing. Remember this is just the first wave and there could be more OT sets in the second part of 2013. And since this wave coincides with the new TCW season it's quite understandable that there are more CW sets. Besides, last year the OT had the spotlight and we never heard any complaints from OT fans. I think both fanbases should be more understanding of the set releases, it's a give-and-take relationship considering we all love Star Wars!

The best looking set set-wise has to be the Umbaran HMC, that thing looks beautiful!

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised of how well-designed the Umbaran MHC is. I'm not normally a fan of CIS vehicles, and when I first read about this rumor it was sort of a Meh for me, but after seeing the pic I might just have to get this one.

Well... These aren't all that interesting to me. I'll be getting the AT-RT, the BP and that spider tank thing. Why did they do that again with the BP?! They gave us a specialized trooper :sadnew:. Why couldn't they have given us 2 plain white troopers? Also, in the BP, is that white trooper helmet new? The print looks different, maybe it's just the picture...

Overall, it's a pretty lackluster wave. I'm happy that the Obi-Wan and Ahsoka minifigs have gotten an update, but I'm disappointed that there are only 3 movie sets, the rest being from either TOR or TCW.

We still don't know what the 2 store exclusives will be yet. This year we had the Y-Wing and Jedi Interceptor. The year before Mace Windu's Fighter and Battle of Geonosis. The year before that the Swamp Speeder and Luke's Landspeeder. So there's still hope for more movie sets.

WOW. Just wow. looks like it'll be an expensive winter for me.

My thoughts on these sets:

Clone Trooper and Droideka Battlepack:  AOTC Set! although that green trooper is incredibly ugly! It's puce . the droidekas are pretty ugly too. The control center is alright though. I'll have to get it though because it's AOTC.

Republic Trooper and Sith Trooper Battlepack: :wub_drool: I'm speechless. even the speeder is beautiful. my only problem with this set is the Republic troopers helmets are pretty ugly :sceptic:

AT-RT: :cry_happy: Amazing AT-RT even if it is ridiculously out of scale. New Yoda? Sniper Droideka: beautiful.

A-Wing:  this A-wing is pretty good. It's kind of a shame that we didn't get a (Commander) Forest Moon Han Solo, but we can't do anything about that. A new Ackbar? I can't remember the older one so forgive me if it's the same Ackbar. Beautiful A-wing pilot helmet though.

BARC Speeder: :wub_drool: New and way better BARC speeder and Flitnot Speeder?! New Obi-wan?! New Captain Rex?! Yes please! I love it!

Z-95 Headhunter:  Pretty good. new clone pilot helmet. Cool spaceship, but I'm not sure about those front fins. Are they supposed to be there? Otherwise a pretty cool ship. I'll make my final judgement when I see Pong Krell but I'm definitely going to get this one! :cry_happy:

Rancor Pit: :wub_drool:I love this one...

Umbaran MHC: :wub_drool: :wub_drool: :wub_drool:I LOVE THIS ONE! New Ahsoka! One of Cody's troopers! Umbarans! But Lego really could have made a new Umbaran helmet mould! :sceptic:

Anyway, those are my thoughts. . .

I am glad that pics finally surfaced, but this wave feels very lackluster. I guess that's ok though, because I have a lot of catching up to do on sets from this year still and am planning on picking up some of the TMNT sets next year.

I am for sure picking up the Rancor Pit and clone battle pack.

If I didn't already have the Home One set, I'd get the A-Wing, but alas. If it had a Mon Calamari other than Ackbar and an Endor trench coat Han, it would be a must buy. But that new pilot helmet is tempting... maybe if I can find it on sale.

The rest of the wave, meh. There are some cool looking figs in there, but overall doesn't appeal to me. But I guess it's a good wave for the Clone Wars fans and collectors.

I do have to say that the BARC Speeder set seems like a joke and a slap in the face. $30 American (so says Brickset) for THAT? Yeah, no. Way too much for so little.

So a cheap first half of the year for me for Star Wars. Hopefully the second half will see more sets I'd be into and hopefully some Episode 2 and 3 sets. Fingers crossed!

Hate to burst your bubble, but I believe the BARC Speeder and UMH Cannon are the two store exclusives this wave.

As an AT-RT lover, I'd have to say I love the improved design of the AT-RT despite it being oversized for a minifig. I could really appreciate the effort by the designers to get as much detail as possible in the walker within the confines of playability stability and cost restrictions (of course other AT-RT MOCs are better but employ illegal connections that aren't fit for playability by kids).

I can rely on you to make a sensible positive comment regarding something everyone seems to be dissing over one issue... its scale. I think it looks great.

Super stoked to see more clones and troopers. I must admit the only sets I probably won't touch are the OT sets, for the reason that I don't collect OT sets. (Gotta restrict the budget somehow) Love the look of the tank and the set boxes. Now just to get a good look at Pong Krell...

Aren't they just alternate helmets from last year's battlepack without fins and different printing? I hope so, although these look better so it might not be.

No. I described the changes that can be expected in an earlier post. If you compare the molds, you'll see that they are different (as described in my earlier post).

I just noticed something... The Phase II helmets don't seem to have holes for visors in them!!! *oh2* I hope it's just because the pictures are so small since it would be terrible if we wouldn't be able to convert them to commanders. It would make the new mold completely pointless in my opinion.

I don't think so. I think they will have the new stormtrooper heads.

I think they'll have newly designed heads or Boba's head.

Am I the only one who thinks the Phase II clones look a bit mediocre and way too cartoony?

I'm not sure on that yet because for me, the pictures are too inaccurate to make a judgement about the quality of the clones.

Rather, I wonder why people have stopped complaining about the fact that a battle pack contains just *one* plain clone...it's pretty much as if Lego is trying to make sure that people don't buy too many of this particular set (army builder). For me, this policy works pretty well.

I do not understand as well why people constantly say that Rex looks fine. From what I can see, the helmet is nicely designed. He has leg printing. And that's it. The pauldron is pretty much oversized, making his general appearance, well, looking absolutely not cool. At least, that's my impression.

I'm not really excited by the actual sets... I migth get the A-wing tough, because I like Mon Calamari...

Sadly I don't have a lot of money to spent on Lego, so I think it's a good thing that I don't really like these sets :classic:

While the sets do look weaker than previous ones, I like the AT-RT and the A-Wing. Maybe that's only because I haven't gotten them before though.

Similarly, it's great that we're getting Yoda and Admiral Ackbar in cheapish sets, since I don't have them, either.

I'm a bit annoyed with the AotC Clone Trooper minifigs, because they'll look odd with all the CW ones we've got over the years. Any Clones are good Clones, of course, but ehh...

Edit: ooh, box art! It's so colourful and everything!

This wave is kind of a mixed bag, the phase 2 clones look off to me, maybe they look better in person, i don't know. I dont like that the 212th clone looks yellow instead of orange as well.

Man, I'm disappointed. I thought I would get the 2013 sets after seeing the fantastic 2012 lineup. Boy, was I wrong. These sets look really boring. :sadnew:

Hmmm... I might get a bunch of TOR battle packs and Bricklink some figures, but that's as far as it goes. I hope the "124 pieces" label on the clone BP doesn't portend another price increase. (It's gone from 10 to 11 to 12 to 13 dollars here in the States.)

After a slow LEGO Star Wars year for me in 2012, 2013 is looking like it's going to make up for it.

With that being said, I can't wait til someone posts some high-res pics of the sets so I can get a better look at the Phase II Clones.

Wow. The new box art is spectacular...... that's about it.

What a disappointment! I already knew I would be getting the Rancor Pit, and it looks like that's it.

- No General Solo with the A-Wing!??? What's the point of throwing a Star Wars/Empire Han in a Return set? This has got to be one of the worst figure placements I've seen.

- I was looking forward to the Z-95, but that thing looks nothing like it. It may be the CW version, but it is definitely not what the original Z-95 looked like

- 2 battle packs I don't have to buy any of, I already knew that coming in and it will be a relief to my wallet

- AT-RT is GIANT, and in no way scaled. I think it looks great, if only it were 2/3 the size.

- The Umbaran vehicle is one thing that looks kind of cool and original, plus it comes with new non-unique troopers - the one bright spot in this line up (other than the amazing Rancor Pit that is)

Perhaps the most dissapointing SW wave I've seen - irrelevant sets to my OT world, and a poor selection of new figures (OT/Sith Troopers, Umbaran Trooper and Pong Krell... oh, and some recolors on CW troopers). I might have felt differently had I not known the Rancor Pit was coming, but still - 1 set out of 6 that I'm going to purchase? That's probably an all time low.

Having missed out the previous opportunities of clone troopers, I actually don't mind their cartoonish style, I like them for exactly what they are, clone troopers based from the clone wars series (or w/e additional SW bit they come from).

Clone Trooper and Droideka Battlepack: Great army builder pack for clone troopers, I personally think its quite a good idea to have the droidekas as the opposite troop choice, as it gives a bit more flexibility as to how to use them. Use them as Droidekas, or make up your own giant droideka or something!

Republic Trooper and Sith Trooper Battlepack: After having missed out on the CW era of Lego sets the first time around, I am excited for this, as they are 4 very decent minifigs, of which 2 very useable armies can be made form one single BP. Great choice on figs TLG! (although I do think the clone trooper helmets look a bit weird

AT-R-Brilliant we are finally getting some 501st, although after seeing some of the customs people have made, Im not sure these live up to my expectations.. Need a better look at them first.

A-Wing-I am exceptionally happy about the A-Wing, having missed out on any previous versions, I love my spaceships so this will be a must have for at least 2 of them. That helmet, while not necessarily as 'lego-ey' as some would prefer, I think its a nice difference and shows TLG are willing to put that little bit of extra detail in where it counts.

BARC Speeder- Nice set, not bad, doesn't greatly appeal to me, apart form the 1 trooper with it... Would probably turn into a parts set than keeping it built, as did the droid commando BP.

Z-95 Headhunter- *rubs hands with glee* :wub_drool:

Rancor Pitmeh... Never was really that enthused with the Rancor, it just seems to be an additional model that is missing its main set half because it would have been too much of an expensive set to have it already included with the Palace in one set...

Umbaran MHC- Great looking set! I know nothing about the Umbaran stuff, but great figs (I don't mind too much about the weird helmets) and awesome buildable cannon on legs!

I'm trying to find something to like. The A-wing is ok, but not different enough thsn the 2006 version.

Really? I don't understand why intentionally making it look different for difference's sake is desirable. I want to build a bunch of A-wings that actually do all look like the same model of spacecraft, differing just in exterior markings and so on. If anything, I'm troubled by how different the new pilot is from the previous A-Wing pilot figures; it makes it harder to use them together. As I hardly have any, though, I guess it's not an issue.

I just wish the other minifigures weren't specific, unique characters like Han and Ackbar, but rather more "generic" troops. I'm especially vexed that I'm going to have far more Admiral Ackbars than generic Mon Calamari officers, when I'd want to have it exactly the other way around.

Still, it's a very nice-looking version of the A-Wing, and I can see myself getting several.

While I'm a little disapointed we're not getting an Endor Han, an update of his regular costume is welcome as the previous torso design was far too dated.

While I don't see a need for Han in this set at all, I'm okay with updating the torso, since I need just one Han at a time anyway, and can always be free to use the other versions of the torso for other characters of my own imagining. However, I don't understand what's so "dated" about the previous torso design, especially how it's supposedly not just a little dated but a lot.

I will say I'm an eensy bit disappointed TLG is still using that hair for Han when the new "standard male hairpiece" introduced in 2008 (used on Mutt Williams, and numerous LEGO Cityfolk) is a much better match, but as long as I can just swap out hair elements anyway it's not a huge deal.

Digging the new A-Wing Pilot Minifig and helmet.

Problem now is that I have 4 different generations of A-Wings. Hell, the Mon Cal cruiser version was fine, a palette swap could have kept some continuity and I could have modded a few of the early ones to get a fleet of them. Will probably pick up 3 of these along with that Rancor pit to chuck under my Palace, unsure on the CW sets.

Yes! (Insert fist pump) I am really happy with next years sets, defiantly going to get the AT-RT, it just looks

so detailed, the clone battle pack, BARC speeder, so hard to say no to, Umbrian tank, maybe the

head hunter for those 501st clones!
