Moexy Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I found a release date on a dutch toy site, it sais 10 january 2013. Only thing that I find strange is the lowprices for the bigger boxes. Umbaran MHC = €48,95 Rancor Pit = €59,95 and the AT-RT, A-Wing and Barc speeder all cost €23,95. If those are the prices I'm very happy
adreva11 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 No chance with those prices, if they are that price it might be the first wave of star wars i get all the sets
Algernon Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I guess I'm not a very good LEGO Star Wars fan. This wave has interested me more than any previous waves in recent memory.
Skarkdahn Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Interesting line-up. Clone/Droideka BP: Good to see the Clone Sergeant making an appearance in a set at long last. The only qualm I have with this set is the size of the Droideka; it is, however, good to see that they've tried to make it more accurate. Rep/Imp Trooper BP: I find it hilarious that LEGO have included flick-fire missiles on a speeder which has no weaponry whatsoever. Maybe a defensive bunker in the style of a miniature Alderaanian turret would have been a better choice, in order to give the troopers something to fight over? AT-RT: At long last, a 501st Trooper! The scale of the AT-RT is off, although the now more accurate design makes up for it. The Sniper Droideka looks a bit ridiculous, although it is interesting to note that it has more detail than its Battle Pack cousins, particularly in the neck and midriff areas. Good to get another Commando Droid variant. A-Wing: As somebody who has never bought any incarnations of the A-Wing, this is a must-have for me, especially as I also have none of the more recent Han Solo incarnations or Admiral Ackbar, as I did not buy the Home One set. Personally, I think this to be one of the best sets from this winter's line-up. Z-95 Headhunter: Admittedly, Pong Krell is an impossible minifigure to be pulled off without looking silly, but he still looks very ill-proportioned in the height department. Otherwise, a good set, and a very decent representation of the Z-95 from TCW. Rancor Pit: Whilst it is good to see a Rancor, I view this a pretty pointless set to get unless you have Jabba's Palace; as I don't have the palace (I viewed it as being ridiculously bad value), I have no intention to get this one. BARC Speeder: It's good to see updated versions of the BARC and Flitknot speeders, although these do seem to be the result of a dead-horse-kicking. The minifig selection is decent, and the new printing on Obi-Wan is brilliant, as is the more detailed pauldron of Rex. Umbaran MHC The Umbarans could be better; their helmets are supposed to be glass and, if I recall correctly, they have more blue on their armour in the series. Ahsoka's second saber should be a lighter yellow-green and shorter, and the 212th Trooper should be a deeper orange.Otherwise, a good set. The cannon flows nicely in terms of design, especially given its size. Kamino & JS: The Jedi Starfighter looks a tad too chunky. Otherwise, Kamino looks decent. R4 being the minifig is a bit confusing, given that she was just but a head when she first visited Kamino (given that the starfighter appears to be the Delta-7 of episode II), but it's still good to get a much better version of her than from the Ultimate Space Battle and the first V-Wing. Coruscant & RAS: Good to see an Acclamator in LEGO form at long last. As a miniature, it looks well-proportioned. Coruscant is slightly disappointing, however. It feels like there could be far more detail that they could have put in there, and it just looks simple and cartoony as a result. Asteroid Field & TB: That asteroid field looks ridiculous, yet you can't really represent such a field on a sphere easily. The TIE Bomber does look decent, and it's good to see more detailed prinitng on the pilot. Hoth and SS: The new printing on the pilot more than makes up for the standard "Zev Senesca" face; thankfully he doesn't use the same helmet as Zev, so that's some small mercy. The Snowspeeder seems a bit too big, given its incredibly thin cockpit, and the guns are just a bit too long. Otherwise, a decent set. Endor & BW: The new pilot looks awesome, as does the B-Wing. I can't really find a lot to say about this that is negative. Alderaan & TIV: The Tantive IV looks amazing given its scale, although the minifigure choice could have been a lot better. We're still to see a Bail Organa in LEGO form, and an Alderaanian Planets set would have been the best opportunity to see one, especially given the high hopes set by that exclusive Lobot figure, and also the fact that we get a Rebel Trooper in this year's advent calendar. The higlight of this year's sets are the A-Wing and AT-RT in terms of set design and cheap exclusive minifigure inclusion, respectively. It's a shame that there aren't more 212th troopers: people who would want to make Utapau MoCs starring these fellas are going to have to either buy a ton of MHCs or wait a long time before they're being sold in sufficient qualities on BrickLink. Additionally, now that we have 212th troopers, we realistically now need a new Cody to supplement their ranks. It's a very good thing to see the 501st troopers at long last, although it is a shame that their very first incarnations are in the style of TCW minifigs. The new Imperial (although only one is truly new) and Republic Troopers are a welcome addition, as are the new A-Wing pilot, episode II Clones, and R4-P17 in particular. It's definitely good to see that the minifig standards are up to their high standards of recent years for OT/PT minifigs. For me, the A-Wing and Kamino are definite buys, and the AT-RT, TOR battle pack, Endor and Alderaan are possible buys. Otherwise, the rest of the lineup doesn't really interest me to the point of buying.
Hulk_Smash Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I'm buying all of them except the Rancor pit, I'll get the Rancor off ebay.
Oky Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Does anyone think that printed cockpit cone on the B-Wing could be used for a Mini Falcon?

Fives Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I know that these pics are official, but when should we expect some larger hi-res pics, with more detailed views of the figs (particularly Krell, Rex and Kenobi). I really want to see that Krell fig up close.
501st Commando Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 So far the planets have been a bit underwhelming IMO, but some of these new ones are fantastic! The new print on the rebel pilot is great, and the new B-Wing pilot is awesome. A complete R4 is also a welcome addition, since I love astromechs. The rest of the sets are also nice, especially the figs. It's great to see some Ep. II clones again (non CW). Overall it's a nice wave, even though all the sets will be broken down for parts.
Im a brickmaster. Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 The sniper droideka looks like it could be easily modified to a regular one. As for the ones in the battle pack, dont diss em tilll you get them.
Pumpkin Pie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 When do you guys think that we'll get a picture of Krell? Cool preliminary, even if it's not very accurate it's still a cool character design .
AMC Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 This is the worse minifig I have ever seen.....http://www.kirikoo.n...1019-100739.png I hope they straighten this one out.....what a mish-mash minifig ! Pretty sure we don't need to worry about it being that. Look at the actual box picture, you can tell he has a realistic head.
Moexy Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Intertoys? (I am from Holland :D) Intertoys? (I am from Holland :D) It is 'superspeelgoed' (an internetshop) I bought both Lotr line and Star Wars sets from this site, it even was free delivery to Belgium because it was an order over €300

Masked Builder Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I guess I'm not a very good LEGO Star Wars fan. This wave has interested me more than any previous waves in recent memory. I like it a lot myself, I think it all depends on which set of movies you like the most. Does anyone think that printed cockpit cone on the B-Wing could be used for a Mini Falcon? Not a bad idea, but I think the cone is to long.
Only Sinner Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Someone mentioned earlier, they would Bricklink the clones from the new bp. I thought, no that's probably not going to be an option, really, and here's why; The clone bp only has two minifigs, one of wich is probably going to be more desirable than the other. So, for about thirteen dollars, you can buy two clones and some crap. Can somebody resell the figs at enough markup to offset the initial thirteen dollar investment? I think not, so will any of these guys be available on th aftermarket? Possibly, but expect to pay darn close to the cost of a new set for them alone. One might just be better off stocking up on the bp's at clearance sales and markdowns when you can afford to flip the droidekas and crap pieces by the pound to break even. Just my two cents on those.
nrg Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 The summer rumor list should be out now . I hope we dont have to wait til november.
The Joker1 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 It should be out now, However lego is being very secrative this year. We may not get them untill later on in the year.n But anyway, At least we have January pics to satisfy our hungers for a while.

The clone minifigs will make it onto Bricklink and eBay. Everything always ends up on both, that option is always available. The question will be the cost. Even then, if you're only after the clone minfigs and you can buy them both for $10.00. You're saving $3.00 off the cost of purchasing the BP. I've been looking to army build clones and this new BP will be my chance.
Jedi master Brick Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 The summer rumor list should be out now . I hope we dont have to wait til november. There is no definte date for rumour lists and picture leaks to be out by. TLG is not obliged to tell us anything before the sets are out. And they have seemed to clamp down on leaks recently.
DarthPotato Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 We just got clear pictures of the winter wave so I think I'm fine waiting a little longer for the rumor list of the summer wave. About army building, I don't think I'm going to try to build an army of AOTC clones. But I will try to do it some of those 501st and 212th clones.

TheBrickDaddy Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 The new Imperial (although only one is truly new) and Republic Troopers are a welcome addition... Actually they are both new- the black one has new leg printing!
-sigma- Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Actually they are both new- the black one has new leg printing! I'm going to assume he knew that, based on that he said only one was "truly new".
Blondie-Wan Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 It is a ROTJ Han in the scenes after he got captured by the Ewoks. ANH Han had blue pants instead of brown while in ESB he never wore his trademark vest. The only time he ever wore the Endor camo was when the rebels first landed through to the search for Leia. And unless you got a later release of The Battle of Endor set, most people don't own a definitive ROTJ Han minifigure yet, just the classic non pupil version. His previous torso design had absolutely no detail. Even at the time it came out it still seemed fairly plain compared to a lot of the other characters. I disagree with you on the new standard male hair piece. It would look perfect on Indiana Jones, but Han always had a more shaggier hairstyle. The classic male hairpiece works better in this case, or even TCW Anakin's. Really? You think so? Really? The previous torso design had some detail (for it to have absolutely none at all, it would have to be unprinted). I thought it was sufficient - it was certainly recognizable as Han Solo, even if it was just the torso itself without legs or a head, which to me indicates it gets the job done pretty well. Still, I don't mind the new torso; I'll be quite glad to get it, and can then use the older one(s) for background characters or whatever. I'm afraid I just don't get your argument on Han's hair, though. As you say, Han has a shaggier hairstyle, but to me that's an argument in favor of the newer hair, not against it, as it's clearly shaggier-looking than the classic element that's always been used for him, as well as having the part closer to where it should be for Han (not that it's actually screen-accurate, but closer than the first element, and probably close enough for LEGO purposes). The one aspect in which the old element might be more fitting is in the fullness, but since all that volume is molded into a perfectly coiffed '70s hair helmet while Han has the shaggier look you yourself cite, I think the old element simply isn't the best choice. Tantive IV looks OK but the Rebel solider is the same as in this year Advent Calendar so I think I won't buy it. As for B-wing and snowspeeder I'll hold my judgement untill final pics. That's funny; I was thinking the fact the Rebel soldier looks the same as in the Advent Calendar (and the battle pack and Tantive IV, save for the different facial expression) was a reason for me to buy it, rather than one against - specifically, it means I can use it for army-building by adding to my existing Rebel troopers. Right now I'm mulling over how many copies of the current Endor / AT-ST set I should get - I have four of the AT-ST from a few years ago and would like additional drivers, but the one in the planet set doesn't match that one, and I'm trying to decide whether the difference is sufficiently negligible to use them together. If it had the same print, I'd be happy to buy a bunch of copies of the planet set, but since it doesn't I'm not sure which way to go.
