Cyberbricker Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Good morning to all of my fellow LEGO SW builders and collectors. I'm in the states and have been eagerly waiting for nearly, if not all, of the Winter 2013 sets. Does anybody happen to know when they should be arriving in stores? I saw the new TMNT line got released yesterday in our stores. So excited!!! - Blau In Belgium they were released on Monday 10 December and i already own most of the winter 2013 wave :), but the store I go to always gets these sets before they are available anywhere else, so its not a good reference. Usually they start showing up in E.U. sometime before xmas , I don't know how long it takes in the U.S.?? Edited December 12, 2012 by Cyberbricker
Zzz Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 The new gunship is so so, not many improvements. The wing pods are same old and poorly made, the side pods are not entirely round, the stickered 6x8 wedge has been replaced. All this could have been done a lot better. Back door (bigger) and side doors (windows not tiles but actual gaps) are better, though. Why this one flies in space is another question but this error happens even in some comics. Only the CW version has completely shutting doors and is space-compatible. Well, I gonna buy it anyway, it's the freaking gunship and hopefully comes with new minifigs (can't stand the CW ones). But if I sell my 7676 for it, I couldn't say by what I have seen, right now I tend to a 'no'.
Fives Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I'm glad to see a lot of people agree with me and think Jango could get placed in one of the sets That set would be an instant buy for me! As for your post Fives, I like a lot of what you were saying however I don't see LEGO making a new geonosian or a new Kit Fisto (even though I would really like one at some point). I would really like some more of the metallic blue SBDs though so hopefully you're onto something there The reason I was thinking that a new Geonsian is in order is because the old one is extremely outdated, and the new CW one is just that: CW. And while back when we first got Kit I was ecstatic about him, over the years LEGO has released so many other alien Jedi and have shown that they are capable of making fantastic figs using headpieces. So, I think that LEGO should make a new Kit Fisto with a classic LEGO minifig head and then a special head/hair piece to represent the tentacles. That way his head would be hard plastic, stay attached better and likely have better accommodations for a cape.
DeltaRecon226 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Very cool! I find the gunship pretty interesting. The side gun-pods are finally complete/closed, but it looks as if the back of them are brick-built. And as they were in Ep. II, there is only one side hatch on each side rather than two. Here's a reference picture: [snip] And a new Dooku and Mace Windu! Sadly I couldn't find a good picture of Mace. but his leg printing looks great! [snip] Cheers! That gunship is beautiful. I like that fact that it seems much in scale with the old 7676 gunship, and I think that it may have more detail that wasn't rendered in CG form. My only gripe is the nose panel things below the cockpits. How will a sticker go on there? The big slope piece was better. Are you going to do a review of those sets you've got? because i really want to see the z95 hunter in a few different angles :)
DeltaRecon226 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Isn't that a new Grievous in the video? Hopefully that means one of the Summer sets will have his new design . As for the rumoured JEK-14's Stealth Starfighter, I predict that it will be that yellow ship that is shown in the trailer near the end. The Yoda Chronicles sure look interesting... A new Grievous is unlikely :(. We had a redesign back in 2010 and the Malevolence came with him.

jasbury Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) A new Grievous is unlikely :(. We had a redesign back in 2010 and the Malevolence came with him. Yeah, I have to agree. There have only been two versions, and the new one was a huge jump from the previous one, and is still a more recent figure. Besides, when I watched the trailer, grievous looked the same. I will take some pictures tomorrow and tell you what i find of the ship. Cool! That would be awesome Edited December 13, 2012 by jasbury
DarthPotato Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Yeah, I have to agree. There have only been two versions, and the new one was a huge jump from the previous one, and is still a more recent figure. Besides, when I watched the trailer, grievous looked the same. He looked different to me, he wasn't a Clone Wars styled figure. He had different printing on his face, which, while only minor, can go a long way. I think that they should redesign Grievous when they get the chance to make him ROTS styled. And they should give him cape too. It's sort of like saying that they shouldn't have made a new Mace Windu in Palpatine's Arrest, but they did.
WampaStomper Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Does anyone know who JEK-14 is? There's no mentoin of him/it/her on Wookieepedia, or anywhere else on the internet... Concerning the Grievous in the trailer, he definitely has a different face print and cape to the TCW version. Hopefully he will be in a set in 2013 or 2014.

Yeah, I did the same thing and couldn't glean any information regarding JEK-14 so I think that he's either from an upcoming CW episode, new TOR content, or 1313.

Well, I don't know about the clone wars, he's probably not from TOR, and I think we decided that JEK-14 is not from 1313. I thought he was that minifig in the trailer of the Yoda Chronicles. Or am I just bonkers?
strangely Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I did a quick comparison between the two Grievous' and found that the main difference is the head. It's not just the printing either. The head seems to be a new peice, a more detailed one at that. It is possible a new Grievous might appear in the future. After all creating a new head isn't nearly as big of a deal as completely redesigning the whole thing. At the very least they would update the printing in a non clone wars style (Which is more likely if we get a new Grievous at all, that's what they did with Gollum) that is if they decide to include Greivous in a ROTS set in the future.
HawkLord Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Here's hoping that new Greivous might appear in the upcoming Corporate Alliance Tank Droid or Homing Spider Droid sets... though possibly more fitting in the Tank Droid set as it was featured in ROTS, albeit a battle in ROTS that Greivous was not part of. Likewise, one could make a weak case for including him in the Republic Gunship or AT-TE sets, as well.

Actually, I think that it would be a huge stretch to see him this summer. It seems that at least the only ep3 set (in my opinion) is the Tank Droid, which is probably gonna be Kashyyk.
TheLegoDr Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I love the new Dooku, Yoda, Mace, and Grievous. Hopefully they become official figures. I'd love to get them non-CW style. I'm glad I never picked up any of the older CW versions because I'd be much happier now. I guess I'll wait and see what becomes of it.

I would love a new more detailed grievous, but do remember that he is digital in the Yoda Chronicles, and they probably added more details on the digital version that weren't seen on the actual minifigure. I don't think it's enough to conclude a new grievous.
Cyberbricker Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) Z-95 Headhunter pictures and small review: The sets comes in 4 bags, 1 for the body, 1 for the front, 1 for the engines and 1 for the wings. It has 373 pieces, and is very easy to build. First thing I noticed is that the firemechanism is hidden and you have to drop it down before you can fire, you can see this on the photo's, its very easy to do this so don't worry. There is also a small storage area in the back that you can access by opening the white hatch, here you have a little weapons rack that can hold 2 blasters and a binocular. At first I didn't like the nose design, but after building it, it was pretty mush okay. Its also a very sturdy design and you have a retractable landing gear, you have to do this manually though. Overall I think if you like the CW line this is a must buy! The price is maybe a little mush in my opinion, but when is this not the case. Sir von Lego Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 @hulk: where did you See The Trailer? I cannot find it...
DeltaRecon226 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 It is a shame that the new p2 CW figures have no holes for the rangefinders, visors, etc. Do the Geonosis Pack clones have those holes and do they share a helmet mold with the CW p1 figures?

Gubi0222 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 (edited) new rex looks awesome : and new obi van (not CW eyes because:" the head is not from this set"): both are very very nice and most wanted (for me) thank you ExoBrick video review : Edited December 13, 2012 by Gubi0222

jmagaletta Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I really wonder why TLG would discontinue the accesory holes in the helmets? To me it does not make any sense. The only logical thing i could think is to save on piece/plastic used which could add up over the many multitudes of sets that come with the antennas and visors. Anyway it really takes away from Rex not having his signature range finder. Also gives me less hope for a proper phase II Cody.
