DJ Bricks Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) For 30.00 US, it'll have less than that I'm affraid. I bet it's going $40 in the US. The Doc Ock set costs less in America for a reason I Cannot begin to fathom Edited January 16, 2013 by Neville longbottem Quote
hockeyboy89 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 It is a Walmart exclusive, just saying :) Quote
CC-3636 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Just a quick question, has anyone seen any of the 2013 superhero sets in Australia Quote
Repeter Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 For 30.00 US, it'll have less than that I'm affraid. No doubt...for $30, we will get three minifigs, a tiny vehicle (WTH is that vehicle that comes in the Doc Ock set?) and some walls. If it is $40, maybe we'll get one more minifig and a slightly better vehicle. Get ready to MOC it up, people. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Wow if beware of the batman is the same as the 2005 cartoon 'the batman', killer croc, Scarface and the ventriloquist, killer moth, firefly and a kickass Mr.freeze featured a lot. So hopefully if they bring out sets based on the show (and those villains are in it), they will be in some sets. Quote

The villains are supposed to be Anarky( in place of Joker) , Prof Pyg, Magpie, Ra's Al Ghul, Tobias Whale, Mr. Toad, King Kraken, Humpty Dumpty, and Axle Alex. Heroes, Barman, Katana( in place of Robin), and ex-secret agent Alfred Pennyworth. So I hope we get figure of those in 2014, and a generic comic Batman set with Croc. Quote

Captain Nemo Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I must admit that that listing of characters does not have me excited for this new series whatsoever. Yeah I agree with that statment. There's not too many successful superhero shows where the main cast is B to D list characters. From first glance, I don't see Beware the Batman doing well--mostly because people expect to see his classic villain roster, and not a bunch of mostly unknown characters. Regardless, getting new figures out of it would be good--though there's nothing that shows we'll get figures based on the show anyways. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 That doesn't really impress m The villains are supposed to be Anarky( in place of Joker) , Prof Pyg, Magpie, Ra's Al Ghul, Tobias Whale, Mr. Toad, King Kraken, Humpty Dumpty, and Axle Alex. RaincloudDustbin Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I want Alfred, Katanas and that well known superhero barman who serves a killer cocktail... I like Humpty Dumpty but he isn't going to make all that interesting fig. -TT Quote
jedikermit Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I must admit that that listing of characters does not have me excited for this new series whatsoever. Worrrrd. Hopefully even if the "focus" is on those characters, we get an occasional classic villain. Because looking at those just depresses me. I don't want minifigs of them, I don't want to watch a cartoon with them, I don't want my sons to watch a cartoon with them. That and my 8 year old loving Robin all make me kind of hesitant about this whole series. Wah. Quote
Sam892 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I'm not really impressed by Beware the Batman. No Robin Not really any major villains ( apart from Ras) Not to keen on the new Batmobile. Hopefully LEGO will keep to Comic sets. Also did anyone else see season 2 of Ultimate Spidey has started! I was looking out for potential future sets thoughout the episode. I like Furys new look, slowly looking more like the movie version. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 If this is how we reward DC for trying something new, this is pretty crappy. I'm sure the show will be good without his main rouges gallery, exposé the media to lesser known character. I hope The Mandarin gets all ten of his rings. Would be pretty lame if he didn't get them. I bet they'll still include them for fans. Quote

I understand using an animated show to highlight some new characters and properties. But I just don't see why do it in this case? WB owns this stuff outright. There are no dueling licenses. As Bruce Timm proved in the 90's, you can have it both ways. Build the show on the foundation everyone expects, and still give some new characters room to shine. (Harley Quinn anyone). From a Lego perspective this saddens me because its probably the only chance we have of seeing a Rhas Al Gul minifig. And that just ain't right. Quote

Why? What's stopping them from making one based on the comics or other cartoons, just like they have done with every other fig in this theme (except for Gordon)? Quote

Did they get rid of the dumb kid humor or most of it? It was pretty good. It was only a 30 min episode though so that disappointed me as it was a 60 min one with season 1. The animated looked slightly different ( higher budget? ) but nothing to different. Nick Fury was designed closer to his Cinematic self and Coulson is wearing what Nick had last season. Overall a great start, hoping for some more team ups later on. The kid humours still there but it's better than the last series, not that I minded it in the first. Not to keen on the lizard or many of the other villains. There's a big spread in Superior Spider-man #1. The lizard has few spikes on his head that kind off put me off. So hopefully LEGO will cut them out if they ever make him. Quote

Hopefully when Lego makes the Lizard they give him his tail. I heard the Fantatstic Four was in the episode. Quote

The Lizard and Electro are supposed to appear, Flash has already, Gwen I don't know, Carnage Eddie and Anti Venom could as Venom is no longer on Harry. Quote
Dr Axels Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) You know Lego hasn't given us a Agent Coulson, Harry Osborn, White Tiger, Trapster, or Luke Cage Minifigure yet. I'm putting all my cards on the Ultimate Spider-Man series as our only hope for a Coulson figure. The character is identical to the one we've seen in the films, thankfully. All we need now is an episode which gives him a lot of screen time, possibly as the central character. I know we had one where he faces off against the Beetle, but we probably won't see another set based off that episode. I wish LEGO would go back and look at the films prior to the Avengers for set ideas, rather than just focus on the films to come. I'd like an Abomination figure to scale with the Hulk we got, as well as Iron Monger from Iron Man and Whiplash's final battle suit from Iron Man 2. Edited January 17, 2013 by Dr Axels Quote

Yeah I agree, but unfortunately LEGO's license does not extend to films preceding The Avengers. Even if it did, I don't think they would focus on those films (been there done that kind of thing).
