DJ Bricks Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Brickset has some piece counts and prices 76006 - 195 $19.99 76007 - 364 $39.99 76008 - 91 $12.99 I think that last one, 76008 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Battle for 91 pieces fo $12.99 sounds wrong, it sounds like the final battle and it should be big, not small. Faefrost Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I think Man of Steel Superman looks good. The Lego version might have a new hairpiece, as he doesn't have the curl in images, so he might use Robin's hair( which is accurate to images). His face would be changed to resemble Henry Cavill's face, torso, arms and pants would be earth blue, and printed with the suit from the movie. His cape would be red. They may not. Did any of the Batman minifigs shift to look more like Christian Bale? I always thought they all pretty much stuck with the more classic Bruce Wayne look? Quote

TDK Batman is inspired by the movies, so they didn't need to make it look like Bale. the MoS sets are based straight from the movie so to be accurate to it, the would have to have a new face. Quote

I hope these aren't right. Malibu Mansion can't be $40! That's so small! And, what is with Marvel and $20 sets? We already got four of 'em for each subtheme! Quote

Loki minifigures was based of the movie but he used comic bruce waynes face. The minifigures deisgn in the superhero theme overall is looking alot less realistic than themes like lotr, I do hope that changes with 2013! Quote

We already got four of 'em for each subtheme! Well, Iron Man Vs. Mandarin is 13.00, so i don't thinl that's right, it sounds like the final battle, so i expect it ot be bigger. the Malibu mansion, is labled 39.99 Euros , so that sound right. Get ready for a crappy Mansion. Bout a 100- 150 pieces will have to go to the helicopter, so that leaves only 210 -250 peices for the Mansion. Quote

Wouldn´t be the first time for the final fight to be a small set. Harry Potter had "Forbidden Forrest" with Voldemort and Harry shortly before the finale, also the set with Quirrel and Harry from the first movie, Star Wars had the final duel of episode 6 made into two 10$ sets, also called "The Final Duel". I´m liking the smaller price tags of the superhero sets more and more. Really feels like you get your moneys worth with the many exclusive figs. TDK Batman is inspired by the movies, so they didn't need to make it look like Bale. the MoS sets are based straight from the movie so to be accurate to it, the would have to have a new face. I am betting on the Man of Steel being made in the same style as TDK Batman. Just change his jumper and keep the same hair and head. Superman just is the kind of person with the unremarkable everyman face that no one really remembers. Quote

I don't think those are the final prices or piece counts, well start finding out on Tues anyway. http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/superman-man-of-steel-set-photo-costume-henry-cavill-01.jpg They'll need a new hair piece and the face Supes lego version has doesn't even look like Henry Cavill. Sam892 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Those prices don't sound 100% correct. Guess we will find out Tuesday anyway. Those prices don't sound 100% correct. Guess we will find out Tuesday anyway. Quote

Captain Nemo Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Agreed, at least IM vs. Mandarin, the other two sound right. I could easily see the IM vs Mandarin set being that cheap, and to be honest I think that would be preferable (At least to me). It is a final battle, but battles like that are usually just character based--and as stated already, seen in Harry Potter, final battles can be shown in small sets. Plus, having a small set with the main villain mean's he'll be easily accessable with other villain characters still valuable in the larger sets. Quote

Best case scenario- The price and piece count is wrong, it'll be be the flagship of the wave, includes a big arena to fight, minfigs: Iron Man(Mark XLII), War Machine( Iron Patriot) , Rescue, The Manadrin, and a henchman(Or Etremis powered Eric Savin) Worst case- The price is right, includes a small build, Iron Man(mark XLII), War Machine(Iron Patriot), The Mandarin Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Pardon my ignorance, but what's happening on Tuesday? I assumed we wouldn't see pics until NY Toy Fair in February. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Pardon my ignorance, but what's happening on Tuesday? I assumed we wouldn't see pics until NY Toy Fair in February. London Toy Fair, starts on Tues, goes to the 24. We get minifig in the sets, rough descriptions of the sets, and pics of the stalls. Maybe pics inside the stalls if we're lucky, unless the have a mesh net over the stall like last year for the Avengers( which I think will happen for the IM3 and MoS. The_Chosen_1 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Ah, that's right. Thanks for the reminder, Daniel. Although if I recall correctly, isn't there a pretty strict no-photos policy at the London Toy Fair? We might be lucky to get a few snapshots, I guess. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Well, I am definitely hoping those are the correct piece counts and prices. There are so many sets coming out already I'd hate to think they would overprice themselves out of buyers (especially for the target audience). The final battle can easily be a smaller set. As stated above, so I won't mention it again. But those prices are great (if they are correct). I'd love to only have to pay that amount. And I think TLG is doing a great job with the $19.99 sets. Those have been my favorite so far. I'll be interested to see prices for Superman sets too then. I'd love to be able to afford them all. Quote

Yes, a strict no photo policy, but only in the stalls, people can take pics of the outside the stalls all they want. Quote

Three figs and a great build. Out of the five released so far I can't think of one that's a disappointment. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Frankly I would rather spend 20 bucks on a final battle set then 70 or 80. Someone needs to get a button camera and get inside those booths! Quote

GuntherThePenguin Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Personally I hope these $20 sets are here to stay! The Spider-Cycle set and the Batman vs Mr. Freeze were by far my favorite sets of this past wave, and the cheapest! Also, I personally don't plan on buying any MoS sets, since I already have a Superman and I don't really care about Sups in the first place. Maybe I'll buy a cheap set for Lois Lane, but that's it. And same with IM3, I will only buy those sets for the figs, so I'm hoping Mandarin and Pepper come in small, cheap sets. Quote

I hope the price is wrong for the Mandarin set. Quote
LMB10 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I doubt Lois will come in a cheap set, most liley the Metropolis showdown. I hope the price is wrong for the Mandarin set. Why? It's a great price, if we get the two main characters (and possibly one more, the Cap set had three minifigs) which means we can easily get the two characters people will want most cheaply. Quote
