Spider-Man Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Nope it was SDCC. When is the New York comic con anyway? October 11-14th I am pretty sure Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 And as for NYCC i think that they will definitely show more stuff. They should definitely have more Hobbit stuff by then, but I also think they will show some Superhero stuff. Superheroes have a better connection to New York then they do to San Diego LEGO ignores the New York Comic-Con like they did San-Diegos Comic-Con before 2009. Nothing ever got announced there, there are no exclusive NYCC sets. LEGO gave away Green Lantern, Black Nolan Batman and Superman at NYCC in form of a raffle but it shows how much they care about this Con when its "exclusive" prize was a Superman figure that is exactly the same as the retail version. And even not concerning LEGO I never heard of any news story that started there. The first few figures were shown at San-Diego 2011. Setlists appeared around September (and the summer sets didn´t have any names on there). Preliminary set pics of the Winter wave appeared around November/December. More information about the Summer sets was randomly sprinkled bit by bit over January and February. It´s more likely the sets are ignored by TLC until the actual release and we get news through someone with the retail catalogue who gives out a list or photographs. That LEGO realized San-Diego would make a great place for set/product announcements is only a recent discovery of theirs. Before 2009 they only put up a few displays of current sets and maybe some dioramas, a stand to sell their current waves and some exclusive boxes with recycled figures/minisets and crappyly designed models. When they make up their minds about New Yorks Comic-Con being a good place to release more info about the Christmas/January waves it´s probably already 2024. Quote
Krulis Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Here are my thoughts about upcoming minifigs: White suit Batman: nice to have some diffrent suits for him and I love to see the new cowl in white . Aquaman: Nicely done fig and I like character so . TDKR Bane:I don't like Nolan interpretation of Bane but LEGO did amazing job on him plus I don't own any of previous Banes so I'll surely get this one. Other Batmans: nothing extraordinary. Gordon: I was waiting for him since orginal Batman sets and he looks great . Harleen Quinzell: nice to have some villian in civilian outfit . Prison Joker: look at other Batmans. Mr. Freeze: LEGO did amazing job on him . Penguin: looks good. Robin: look at other Batmans. Scarecrow: LEGO did amazing job on him and I love a rope on his neck Beetle: I don't know anything about him but he looks good. Doctor Doom:LEGO did great job on him . Jameson: way better than the previous version . Fury: Finally!!! Nova: He looks great but I think he should be gold and black not yellow and dark blue . Venom: I don't know why but I don't like this guy. Maybe if he was made like Hulk he would look better. Quote
Gooker1 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Would NYCC have anything different to what SDCC had? Speaking of which when is NYCC supposed to start? According to the Lego person I spoke with, they don't know what they have planned yet, but it will definitely be different from this year's exclusives. Same goes with what we might see at Star Wars Celebration VI too. Quote
deskp Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 And I thought they couldnt get any better but they have and the white batman looks SICK so if someon makes a white batman decal can they please tell me because i want to put one on my lego figure but i cant make lego decals because i am no good. Dude, just use the image lego released and crop out the torso. Quote
Cammo Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Preliminary set pics of the Winter wave appeared around November/December. I have more positive news. I checked my documents where I saved the prelim pictures last year and they already appeared on the 7th of October. Quote
rakky Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 For the record Krulis Nova should be yellow and blue as that was his first amd most commonly seen costume in the comics. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) According to this website...TG Daily - LEGO reveals next year’s super hero minifigs These are all of next years Marvel and DC Comics figures, all we have seen of course from SDCC but not all together side-by-side and hello, Poison Ivy makes it two years in a row....ah, that kiss of death ! Edit - two Spiderman....must be a typo or posting error from that website ? Edited July 18, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
Drock Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Isn't that just the first wave, though? Second wave of 2013 will be Man O' Steel and Iron Man 3, right? Quote
Vindicare Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Can't be the whole years figs? That's not a lot of Marvel figs if that's the case. I'm guessing it's first half. Quote
King of Nynrah Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Isn't that just the first wave, though? Second wave of 2013 will be Man O' Steel and Iron Man 3, right? This has been confirmed by TLG. Quote
just2good Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Isn't that just the first wave, though? Second wave of 2013 will be Man O' Steel and Iron Man 3, right? Second wave will be Iron Man 3, third wave will be Man of Steel (released a month apart) and the fourth wave will hopefully be Thor: Dark World. Quote

Must be two Spidey sets, maybe Lego figured that a Spidey-Man set wont sell without Spidey in it, kinda like the Batman sets. Quote
Omicron Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Must be two Spidey sets, maybe Lego figured that a Spidey-Man set wont sell without Spidey in it, kinda like the Batman sets. Or maybe Spidey is in both sets because both sets are based on his show. -Omi Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Or maybe Spidey is in both sets because both sets are based on his show. All of the Marvel sets will be based on the show, but perhaps they will not all come with Spidey. Nova could serve as the hero in one of the sets (or Nick Fury, but I find that less likely). Quote
sok117 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So thats it? Kinda disappointed there are no more heros for DC. And if the TDKR set just has three minifigs with two giant vehicles? Imma be a bit more disappointed. Quote

Ultron Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So the only marvel sets for the first wave are 2 spiderman sets? I'm finding it a little hard to believe. There's gotta be at least one xmen set. Quote
halomaster96 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I feel like these aren't all of the figures. There's really got to be more than 7 Marvel figs right? Right? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I feel like these aren't all of the figures. There's really got to be more than 7 Marvel figs right? Right? Not right. Remember two things: the wave is being split Marvel/DC this time around, and when Marvel did have its own full wave this year, there were 11 new figures, or 13 if you count both Iron Mans and the Hulk maxifig (plus three more later in the Spider-Man set). Considering that, 7 minifigures for just half a wave seems excellent to me. I also think that there will be at least 3 Marvel sets. It seems like too many figures for only 2, but I could be wrong. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I know this isn't the topic we are talking about right now, but I sent an email to Lego asking about the exclusive figures at SDCC and they said: Unfortunately the figures given away at the SDCC event were special only to that event and will not be appearing in any later sets. It's definitely possible that you may see a different variation sometime in the future, but we do not get any inside information on upcoming sets so I can't say for sure! I really hope that some variation of your favorite superheroes are included in a future set though! So there might be hope for variations of the figures but not exact copies. Quote

I had no idea the wave was being split, do you have a source for that? I'm also thinking there might only be two marvel sets. Because neither Nick Fury or Nova could be in a set alone. It would only work as a spider-man team up. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I had no idea the wave was being split, do you have a source for that? Doesn't it seem obvious from the figures? They can't release 10 superhero sets (what two waves would be) at one time. There is just the right amount of figures to indicate a few sets on each side. Quote
