RaincloudDustbin Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Exactly my point, the head would look different. BTW, did you like Looper? I thought it was epic. Quote
strangely Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 It's not a bad design, Lego just didn't know what hawkeye and widow would look like in the final version of the film. And to me they still look cool, maybe i've gotten used to them. It is a bad design, they put cheekbones on her and they aren't fitting at all. Even working with concept art they should be able to determine that Black Widow shouldn't have the cheekbones of a sixty year old Disney villain. Without the cheekbones she'd look fine, not that much like SJ, but at least an okay representation of Black Widow. Quote

TheLegoDr Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I think that becomes the problem with minifigures. Some are designed to look like the movie versions and others are meant to look exactly like the actor/actress portraying them. There is a subtle difference. I don't know where they draw the line. Bruce Wayne doesn't look like any of the actors that have played him necessarly, but it still looks like Bruce Wayne. I wouldn't say Hawkeye looks like Jeremy Renner either, but no one is mad about that figure. I think it all has to do with the cheekbones, as others have stated. Those didn't help the minifigure at all. I never bought the Quinjet because I didn't want to spend $70 on it and the few exclusive figures go for way more than I want to spend on a figure, but the more I look at Black Widow, the more I do want that figure. If she gets released in another sequel, then hopefully they will re-release her, similar to Poison Ivy that I didn't get the first time around either. Quote

Yeah i guess. the cheek bones should have been more like the design of Liv Tyler's Arwen minifig, the have the same cheek bone her and SJ . I think that becomes the problem with minifigures. I've got the feeling that if Widow is to be released in future sets , it'll be the same in those sets. Unless Lego listened to complaints and fixs her. I disagree, the serious smirk kinda looks like the one Renner has, and the eyes on the other side completly looks like him Quote
Repeter Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I never bought the Quinjet because I didn't want to spend $70 on it I thought the same way, until I actually built the Quinjet. Easily, the best build in the Marvel line, imo. I ended up making my own BW though, based more on the comics, as I am in the group that really didn't like her movie version. Quote

MadMan Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 If you want to discuss Looper, go to Culture and Multimedia or start a PM discussion, please. The discussion had kind of moved on from those brief comments anyway.... But yeah, Black Widow minifig kinda sucks, it's way off on everything really. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 The discussion had kind of moved on from those brief comments anyway.... I posted 17 minutes after they happened. Bottom line, I'm the mod here. Don't sass me. Quote
MadMan Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The timeframe doesn't matter - the conversation had already flowed on, so you didn't need to tell them off for it. But 'sass' you? Er, I'm not doing that. All I was saying was that you don't really need to moderate a situation that has already resolved itself. And I really don't like this 'I'm the mod so you aren't allowed to say anything about me/query my judgement' attitude. It creates a really negative atmosphere, stifles discussion and is really just unwelcoming. The most enjoyable sites are ones where mods treat members as equals - not taking every opportunity to tell people off where it isn't necessary. And your response to me is simply needlessly aggressive. Had I insulted you then such an approach might be ok, but all I did was query it. Its upsetting and worrying that that is considered an okay way to respond to members. At our cores we are both Lego fans, so lets drop all the 'I'm a mod so shut up' approach and respond to eachother as intelligent adults. :) Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 We're having a conversation in PM now, so I won't go into it too much here. I'd like to apologize publicly to Madman. I did not intend my response to be aggressive or to shut anyone up. I perhaps should have added a " " emoticon. I had assumed the word "sass" would be taken with a connotation of lightheartedness. So, I'm sorry for not being clearer. But, seriously, I do feel well within my right to politely steer the conversation back on topic when I see it going astray. ...Which it is doing again. So how 'bout them 2013 SH sets? Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 We've got the one. I wonder when the movie people will let TLG release more. Surely, they can't hold them back until the movie's release. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 We've got the one. I wonder when the movie people will let TLG release more. Surely, they can't hold them back until the movie's release. Well, the movie is surronded by a lot of secrets that they don't want spoiled. Maybe we'll get pics in a couple weeks, or a month before the sets are supposed. Metropolis Showdown was shown, i'm guessing, because it wasn't really spoiling anything, maybe just a small bit of Zod and Supes final battle. Quote
Luke Styer Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 It means if Marvel want him to, he has to. More likely it means he'd face some kind of legal liability if he refuses to appear in the movie. U.S. courts rarely enforce employment contacts by forcing someone to work. That skirts a little close to slavery. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) I don't recall hearing this anywhere, but just to clarify: have there been any rumors of an Iron Man 3 or Man of Steel retailer exclusive set? As it stands now, the summer Superheroes wave will be quite affordable. Which isn't a bad thing, by any means. Edited February 16, 2013 by The_Chosen_1 Quote
Oakenmold Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 There is a Marvel 4 set that has yet to be confirmed. So im expecting a fourth Marvel set later on. Maybe a Iron Man 3 exclusive or another spiderman set. Hopefully Marvel 4 will be Fantastic Four, as their will be Fantastic Four figures in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game. Or am i just wishing to much for The Thing Maxi figure and a clear Sue Storm? Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I don't mean any offense, but this has been said many times, Marvel 4 was confirmed to be the Malibu Mansion Attack set. Quote
Sam892 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I don't mean any offense, but this has been said many times, Marvel 4 was confirmed to be the Malibu Mansion Attack set. I believe so, however I personally still expect another set based around Marvel later on in the year. That's only based on the reason the they have a Videogame coming out, Thor 2 and the that Marvel have 5 sets where DC has 6 this year. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Oh, the plot thickens! Maybe there is hope of a Iron Patriot minifig. Do think there well be a slight variation of Thor for new Dark World sets? Quote
just2good Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Yes yes yes, I've mentioned it before but the sixth set should be a Thor 2 set, but to be honest, I could see LEGO doing a special edition X-Men set instead (to coincide with the release of The Wolverine, but not be licensed from it) and release the Thor 2 set as a 2013 set, like TDKR set from this year. But, I really think we'll see a Thor 2 set in October, released the same time the Harry Potter wave was released in 2010, all based on that one poster we got from Comic Con 2012. Quote

As much as I would like to satisfy my curiosity with some pics, there is a small part of me that hopes they can keep it under wraps until the last minute...I like the anticipation, and any spoilers I can avoid, even better (for instance, I had no clue Pepper would be jumping into an IM suit, until the pics of Malibu Mansion came out). DJ Bricks Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Oh, the plot thickens! Maybe there is hope of a Iron Patriot minifig. Do think there well be a slight variation of Thor for new Dark World sets? Well i hope for an Iron Patriot S@H exclusive, maybe the white lightsaber hilt will be his new minigun. When did we get info on the Hulk polybag, sometime in march or April? http://cdn03.cdn.justjared.com/wp-content/uploads/headlines/2012/09/chris-hemsworth-thor-2-begins-filming-first-set-pics.jpg Thor's outfit gets bronze on it, for the circles, arm braces, and other bits of the armour. I heard that he gets promoted to general because of the events of The Avengers, and his armour gets changed beacuse of it. I hope for some variant of Thor and more than one Thor: The Dark World set. And I hope for figs like :the Dark World version of Loki, Odin, Jane Foster, Malekith, Selvig, Kurse, Heimdall, the Warriors Three, Sif, and maybe Tyr or Kat. Quote
legomilk Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 here the two new Superman sets 76003 and 76009 Quote
The Joker1 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Thanks, That video just saved me £50! :) That snmallville set looks pretty poor apart from figs, And the £20 set is only good on my list for the £/figures reason. Edited February 16, 2013 by The Joker1 Quote
