jonwil Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Bit disappointed with Superheroes this year, the sets are nowhere near as nice as some of last years efforts like the Hulk set or some of the Batman sets. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I'm not too happy with Lego using Luthor's head for Faora; even if it looks slightly like her. It doesn't look female at all and worst of all it's not a new print. I don't think Lego should reuse prints of major characters for other characters--they should all be new. Least of all, it just add variety. You don't see them reusing faces in the other lines, so why here? Quote
strangely Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I'm going to go ahead and hope that they accidentally switched her head with one of the helmeted figures. I know that's not likely but I want to live the delusion just a little bit longer... Glow in the dark heads for the IM3 figs are interesting. And other than Faora the figures look pretty good, a close-up of Lois Lane is still in order but so far so good. And I'm loving the builds, I think once the movie comes out and we see what they're based on the overall opinion on the sets might get better. It's sort of hard to judge them without knowing what they're really supposed to be. My main problem is that the naming for these sets is dead wrong. Really those names probably hurt this wave more than anything else, it raised the expectation way too high. Talking about Metropolis and giving us a car and an antenna was completely misleading. I agree with the misleading names. But i think we all thought that the Helicarrier would be bigger when we heard the sets name. I don't think the heads are Gitd, just pale green. I like Faora, once i got past the horrible head. I think that the ship is accurate to the trailers, and i think sets are bleak and colorless(minus the sports car) because Snyder's bleak, colorless, realistic movie. We might buy the sets when we know what they're supposed be. I'm not too happy with Lego using Luthor's head for Faora; even if it looks slightly like her. Santaduckz Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I think her face is just a mistake. They screw up with things like that all the time at these things. Even in the Mr. Freeze set there they have the wrong batman! TLG may push it a bit sometimes with face reuse (Hermione for Padme, for example) but they wouldn't push it this far. They need that face anyway, for when Lex is inevitability used in one of the next MOS movies. Quote

Kez Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I reckon that those 2 villains in the IM3 sets are under mind control by that guy in the beard (Mandarin), I could be wrong though and I only thought of it because of the glow in the dark faces. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks for posting that video. As it stands I will have a hard time purchasing the MoS sets, even though I originally planned on getting them. The figures are the only selling point for the Super Heroes sets and they seem to be lacking even there with this wave. I am disappointed in what TLG has done with the Super Hero theme so far. Hopefully it will pick up and hopefully these sets will look better when they are released. Now I'll just focus on Lone Ranger I guess. Quote
deskp Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) And that armor on To-An looks nothing like Faora's.http://www.joblo.com...ra_mtvgeek1.jpg You are terrible, that armor is exactly like Faoras. (When i say exactly I mean no mroe or less accurate than Zods armor compared to the movie.) Edited February 17, 2013 by deskp Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Say, that helmet looks like you could use it for for some custom Hydra soldiers from captain America. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) I doubt it. They didn't make Bruce Wayne look like Christian Bale or Superman look like Henry Cavill Bruce isn't supposed to be based on Bale, it's weird that it kinda looks like him. MoS Supes is based on Cavill, i just checked, the cheek bones, the mouth, and eyes/eyebrows are different from the comic version. True, Col. Hardy can't be final, he has short hair, not bald. He has a military crew cut, which make him nearly bald but has a small amout of hair, bald is the right way to go. I reckon that those 2 villains in the IM3 sets are under mind control by that guy in the beard (Mandarin), I could be wrong though and I only thought of it because of the glow in the dark faces. There's no such thing as mind control, mandarin's rings don't have "powers" in the movie. They are both green because the are infected with the Extremis virus, which turns someone's face green and make them a mindless, super strong, fire breathing, zombie. I hope they aren't gitd but nice if they are. You are terrible, that armor is exactly like Faoras. (When i say exactly I mean no mroe or less accurate than Zods armor compared to the movie.) Well apart from the spike being in the wrong place, not next to the neck and on the shoulder. But then agian we don't know what Tor- An looks like, so it might be accurate to him. But i think that the figs are final, so i believe that hardy and Faora are final. Edited February 17, 2013 by daniel gourhan22 Quote

Navy Trooper Fenson Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 There is a Marvel 4 set that has yet to be confirmed. So im expecting a fourth Marvel set later on. Maybe a Iron Man 3 exclusive or another spiderman set. Hopefully Marvel 4 will be Fantastic Four, as their will be Fantastic Four figures in the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game. Or am i just wishing to much for The Thing Maxi figure and a clear Sue Storm? I don´t know exactly which set but Marvel 4 was a stand-in name for one of the Iron Man sets. On all the lists where there was the Marvel 4 name one of the Iron Man sets was missing. I still expect a fourth Marvel set because LEGO seems to have to make sets of (roughly) the same price categories for both Marvel and DC and DC is currently a set further because of Arkham Breakout. Like I said pages ago and someone else a few posts ago: Probably something to cash-in on films or shows or the set is being postponed until 2014. here the two new Superman sets 76003 and 76009 Weeeellll. I am sad that the Smallville spaceship is so far up. This way it looks like the Quinjet with bubbles. Maybe it´s something worth the price. For a first look it certainly looks like it´s worth more than the Bat/Tumbler set. The escape looks rather bland and is certainly not a good idea. Lois is the only fig that´s not in any other set and she looks very bland. I wouldn´t be surprised if Pepper and Lois have the same head. So the only bits that are rescuing it from total ignorance are possible alternate heads for Superman and Zod and the children that want to have Zod and Supes but don´t have enough money or don´t care for whatever is in Smallville battle. The armor pieces are still excellent. Maybe I am getting the Escape if there are alternate heads, Lois is less bland and the armor can be used to customize a Bane mask out of. By the looks of it Metropolis showdown is more expendable a set. Only a yellow car that looks rather weird with its yellow/black dotted paintjob, a very easy to make yourself radiotower and Supes and Zod figs that maybe are only different to their other set counterparts because of their red heat-ray heads. Marvel seems to win. The builds are in both movies lines sloppy but Iron Man has at least variety in his figs (the only figure completely repeated is Mark 42) while Man of Steel has his whole fig lineup in the biggest set except for Lois and maybe the different heads for Zod and Supes. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 ^ Supes has a double sided head, one looks like the comic face with a few changes to make him resemble Cavill and the other is red eyes and angry. It looks like Supes is the same in every set. Quote

wesker Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 The spaceship and the armoured helmets looks pretty cool. Not a huge fan of Lois being a redhead when we already have Black Widow, Pepper Potts, Jean Grey, Poison Ivy and Mary-Jane, not to mention others that could show up in the future like Batgirl, Mystique and Scarlet Witch. We need more blonde and brunette female minifigures. Quote

They all have that Nugget colour that was introduced in the PoP line, which doesn't look red at all. Quote

And the kind Lois has is a light stawberry blond type red head. Quote
North Lego Star Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) Well, I have to admite the MOS sets a like the Iron Man sets pretty disappointing. They don't look awful, but they could certainly have included a lot more. The only one I'll end up buying is the Metropolis Showdown because it's really the ideal Super Hero set. It comes with your two main characters a car and some scenre. Lego could have really acted upon this great combination and incorporated it into evry Super Hero Set this year. Hopefully next year we see some more sets that come with a vehicle some detailed and action-packed scenre and your main characters. Edited February 17, 2013 by North Lego Star Quote
strangely Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 The thing that bums me out about this line up is simply that we didn't get any real buildings, mostly just vehicles and a few facades. Oh well, there's always next year. Quote
305Bats Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I'm hoping next year brings us Nightwing,Alfred,Killer Croc and a Scarecrow rerelease! Quote

I could see them maybe using him in another set, but there is no way we will get a new one anytime soon. Quote
