Masked Builder Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Which one? Smallville which has the ugly Faora or Black Zero with AMY AD.............. er, I mean Lois Lane? Oh right. I forgot that there are two. When I posted I was thinking the one with Lois, but I need to seem them finished before I make any judgement. Quote
CF Mitch Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Okay, so let me get this straight. The IM3-sets release date of March 7th is undoubtably and officially confirmed? 'cause That's really soon and also rather early (like you all mentioned), so I just want to make absolutely sure before I freak out, out of happiness Regards, Mitch Quote
The Joker1 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I don't want to spread gloom over some good news but didn't this seasons Argos catalogue say the IM3 sets are out in april? And as we know they are quite good for the revealing of set times (TMNT). I may be wrong but I just wanted to mention this :) Quote

just2good Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) The Brick Show reviewed the mansion set. It looks great! Oh, and the sets were on Toys"R"Us this morning, but they just got removed. You couldn't add 'em to the cart, though. Edited February 22, 2013 by just2good Quote
d-delay Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Don't worry Masked Builder - easy mistake to make given the glimpses we've seen of Faora... Quote
Jargo Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 The Man of steel sets have cool minifigs. I'm loving the Zod and Faora ones. Awesome armour and helmet. Look forward to seeing the correct head and hair on Faora. Odd how Lex Luthor's head got put on her. Zod's ship looks interesting as does the pod in the black zero escape set. Lord knows what that structure shown as the other part of Black Zero is. Flick fire missiles and a shed? Bizarre. Not fussed on Hardy and Lois Lane or the Jeep. Metropolis showdown is pretty silly. I'm going to pass on that. And for the record I like the new look Superman. Glad he no longer wears his Underoos over his unitard. I'm totally not feeling the Iron Man sets. The dark green and black vehicles is a cool colour scheme but I don't dig the vehicles. If I buy anything I'll probably just Bricklink a couple of the minifigures and the mansion sticker sheet. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Well after seeing a new poster for IM3, I can somewhat understand the choices Lego made in regards to Mandarin's hair. It's defiantly a mesh of styles, and giving him the short hair is probably better then making a new mold, which most likely would have looked too big/much hair. Link to Picture Quote

But it's accurate for Tony and the Soldier is very obvious that it's based on James badge Dale's Eric savin. Blow up functions for the armors, nice! just2good Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 The Brick Show released the final installment of the Iron Man 3 set reviews, with the Harbor Battle set! Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I really hope we get an Iron Patriot. I know what i'll be using my VIP points and March free shipping for, 10937 and the IM3 sets. Anyone else think that the Extremis Soldier is really Eric Savin? Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 What about Malen? It would make sense for him to be in the movie/set. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 What about Malen? It would make sense for him to be in the movie/set. I think that Eric Savin will be the Mallen of the MCU. James Badge Dale said that his version will be loosely based on the comics. So instead of being in blown up and turned into a cyborg, he will probably be injected with the Extremis virus. Some of the facial features seem to match Dale's. Quote
eldiano Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Anyone seen The Man of Steel sets yet? THey look horrible compared to the IM3 sets, what a shame, although I like the emphasis on vehicles rather than actual sets, since these represent them so well. My only complaint is that Faora at first looks like a guy. Quote

But the sets do look nice from a certain standpoint. Quote
Oky Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 It's interesting to see that they were willing to make movie-accurate all-gray vehicles for the MOS sets, but decided to throw in all those random blue bits on the BAT instead of making it all-black, isn't it? Maybe they learned their lesson from the TDKR set. I actually kinda like the spaceship, but yeah, the Black Zero Escape is garbage and only good for parts and figs. Quote

Maybe they learned their lesson from the TDKR set. The random blue bits, I believe, were meant to be how the light reflected off the Bat. It does give off a blue hue in the movie. -Omi Edited February 24, 2013 by Omicron Quote
Jackattack7 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Is there any connection with the ultimate spider man cartoon characters, and the 2005 ultimate spider man game? Quote

'cause That's really soon and also rather early (like you all mentioned), so I just want to make absolutely sure before I freak out, out of happiness Regards, Mitch I would advise you to bust a move. March is the US release date, european countries like Holland always take a randomly chosen amount of months longer for the Superhero sets to appear. The dutch site I frequent doesn´t even have them listed. I guess it´s a May release for Europe, at least for Germany it´s confirmed. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.. Also, just curious: What do you mean, in this case, by 'bust a move'? Regards, Mitch Quote
Fives Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 If March is the release for these sets, I wonder how soon Canada will get them. Likely soon. All of these sets look very appealing, and I may just need to get all of them. Also, I feel like the Mandarin figure would be improved greatly if he had the same hair as the CMF Series 2 (I think it was 2) Sumo Wrestler hair. And I'm unsatisfied with Pepper Potts' hair colour and piece. I think it would better in the same colour as Kili/Hawkeye/Elizabeth Swan, that sort of dirty blonde colour. Quote
eldiano Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Man the Mandarin looks like he has poop on his head from that poster, but I do agree that The Bat does have those blue bits to reflect the *lights* from it, but honestly it is a bit too small for my tastes and not movie realistic at all, some MOC depict The Bat way better, I think. Honestly though is not bad for Toy, though, if I wanted a real movie replica I would have bought the Hot Toys version but on the lego's I like the fact that you can pretend it crashed and destroying it. <==says the 28y old. hahaha Quote

We are getting them in April. It is quite possible that some other European countries will get these in April as well, but not all of them. I would guess that most other European countries will see these Iron Man 3 sets in May, just like you suggested. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Actually, I remember Mark Strafford/Nabii commenting on a Brickset article when the Bat and Tumbler was first revealed and saying that the blue was to break up the black. Quote
