DJ Bricks Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Thats interesting and good to know! On another note is the Mk 42 armor Iron Man's extremis armor, or are they two different things? the mark 42 is one of tony's attempts to create the suit. Quote
Spider-Man Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Thanks Daniel I'm only used to the exremis comics so its taking sometime to sort of Cinematic Universe material and comic material Quote

Spider-Man Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) The MCU is taking stuff from the comics and changing it, like Aldrich being the right hand of the Mandarin Ya it should be interesting to see how that all works out. The Extremis comics were awesome so I am definitely excited to see what elements they include in the movie and what they leave out I think January coming up will be Batman and Spider-Man, April will be 2 CA2 and 2 Thor sets, don't know what there will be for DC, I'll put money on more Batman unfortunately. Up until this point DC has been severely lacking in character diversity Edited March 3, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) About the likelihood of a Thor 2 set to correspond with the release of the movie: I don't think it will happen. I mean, I'm sure we'll get a Thor 2 set, but I doubt LEGO will break their release patterns. They didn't do it for TDKR, so I don't see why they would do it for Thor 2. I anything, the best we can hope for is one Thor 2 set in January 2014 containing Thor (with helmet perhaps?) and Malekith as a bare minimum, probably at the £40 price point. Quite frankly, just one set would be fine with me, unless there is loads of awesome stuff in the movie, in which case I would crave more than one set. *EDIT* I just realised that I have said this before, but in much less detail. Never mind. Edited March 3, 2013 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote
Jackattack7 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) I looked closely at the black zero escape pic and in the pod, Zod is in his armour. So if you want all the different minifigs, you will need the metropolis showdown. Edit: here are the pics of all of the sets, but these have been seen before. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/superman_movies/news/?a=74400 Edited March 3, 2013 by Jackattack7 Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I'm not a big fan of the Zod armor. It gives me a very Mega Bloks-type of vibe... Quote

8BrickMario Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I like the new Super Heroes Robin just fine, but his face bugs me for one reason. You can't do anything with it outside of action scenes! LEGO's last chance to give him a casual/happy face is in the upcoming Robin and Redbird Cycle polybag. It doesn't look too good if you have Robin and Batman talking casually while Robin looks like he's about to prank Batman! The old face, even if I could get it, is too young! (that last sentence sounded contradictory!) I hope that LEGO will give Robin a more casual face, but I can't expect it. What do you think? Quote
Sam892 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I also hope he gets some more expressions. I'm hoping for an angry face for both him and Batman. Hopefully if next year we get a Nightwing minifig he will have the same domino mask but, with an angry and standard face. The whole Scared face isn't really Grayson's style. Quote

January: -2 Batman Sets -1 Flash and Other DC Super Hero Set -2 Spider Man Sets March: -3 Captain America Sets -1 Lego Marvel Exclusive Set July: -3 Guardians of the Galaxy sets -1 Exclusive Batman Set I personally still think weregoing to see one Thor 2 set this year since he was on the Poster at the SDCC in 2012. I think that's a bit heavily weighted to Marvel. We're talking 9 to 4 there. I could see us maybe finally getting a Green Lantern set, and possibly a Flash alongside either Batman or Superman set. I'm hoping we see Nightwing and/or Batgirl in one of the Bat-centric sets (I'd presume we'd get Bats in one as well, probably with a new suit design) So maybe 2 Bat-sets since he's the focal point, with 2 other Justice League builder type sets (So you'd have Bats, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman after that batch in comic book style, then when the JL movie comes out we can have the cinematic style versions as well) I think we'll get the one exclusive, which will be Marvel based (probably X-men?) On a side note, I hope we get studio shots of the other MOS sets soon Edited March 4, 2013 by Big T Quote
Spider-Man Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I think that's a bit heavily weighted to Marvel. We're talking 9 to 4 there. Why does it matter? DC doesn't have any new material to work off of, whereas Marvel is coming out with a few new movies every year as well as new TV shows. If Marvel is supplying TLG with all this material and DC doesn't really have much set for their future then it only makes sense that Marvel will be getting more sets than DC. Quote

I would expect that the licences for the two companies would have a clause demanding equal representation of their IPs, though I couldn't say for sure. It may be that this works on something other than the number of sets though - DC has the huge Arkham Asylum set while most new Marvel sets are reasonably small. Perhaps it's calculated on total value of each line being roughly the same? Or total weight/piece count? We'll never know for sure, but it's worth a think. Quote
Sam892 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 So when are the new Iron man sets being released in the UK? I've been looking on the net and can't find anything. I'm hoping its the Seventh as I'm heading to the LEGO store next week. Quote

Sam892 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 It's supposed to be Tim Drake....... I meant The Nightwing minifig. Seeing how many times LEGO has reused heads in the past, I was hoping that if we get a Nightwing figure in the future that they don't reuse Robins face. Quote

Yeah new material, but when you really think about it, it really isn't new. Woohoo more Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. I didn't get enough of that with the Avengers sets. Maybe new movies, but it's still the same stuff. -Omi Edited March 5, 2013 by Omicron Quote
Spider-Man Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I agree it's not "new" in that sense, but we are getting Mandarin, Pepper, War Machine, and civi Tony just from IM3. Then in Cap 2 and Thor 2 we are supposed to see the Winter Soldier, Falcon, the Warriors Three, Malaki (spelling?), and probably more that could end up in sets, and that's not even mentioning the different locations or vehicles. At the very least it is all more stuff that TLG can consider making which makes their jobs easier, where as with DC they have to try to think of what Bat related vehicle they can throw together. My original point is that currently Marvel is doing far more than DC, so if Marvel ends up with more sets I can understand why. Quote
just2good Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) Well, I got the Iron Man 3 Boat set today! The review will be up soon, and when it is, I'll advertise post it here. But, I did notice one thing... the official box says it's for "Ages 6-12" but the GRogall image says "Ages 7-14"! Weird, eh? Edited March 5, 2013 by just2good Quote

There are other things to Marvel besides them. It's great that Doom came in a Spidey set, but I would have preferred him to be in a FF set instead. And DC needs to stop having Batman carry them too. -Omi Edited March 5, 2013 by Omicron Quote
