305Bats Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Oh yes! Finally that hair in black. And this means that Faora's odd head and hair in the earlier pictures was just a messup . I need that hair in yellow for Aquaman! Quote
fatfrog2596 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Thanks GRogall! This set looks fantastic.. will definitely be picking this one up. Quote
ETAV8R Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The Zod/Faora helmets remind me of the engineers from Prometheus. Very cool set. I'm not into Superman but I may have to get this one. The ship could be modded with different colors to portray another ship in the Alien Conquest theme. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Wow! That set is awesome! Once again the Super Heroes line surprises me with another wonderful set. I definitely need to pick up 76003. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Looks like there are new seat pieces in the Jeep. Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks yet again Grogall! The first thing I noticed was the lack-luster jeep. Maybe it's all the tan and nothing to break it up, maybe it's that I one a much better jeep from the Indy sets, or maybe it's because the wheels and mudguards look really off. I dunno, but I won't dwell on it. The ship is a sweet sci-fi design, WITH LAUNCHING MISSILES! (Which automatically bring the cool factor up.) It does remind me of the Bongo Sub, and the layers of plates sticking out makes it look slightly unfinished, but it's still pretty cool. The dark gray/dark tan/green actually works well, and if nothing else, it's very alien looking. (And has launching missiles!) On to the figures: Superman: While the solid unbroken blue looks fine on the real life costume, it doesn't come across as well in Lego form. The printing is nice, but as nearly always, the leg and torso printing don't quite line up. I am looking forward to owning the figure, it for no other reason that the red eyes on the second face. Soldier: Wow Lego, you must really like that head. I like it too, but not that much. His lack of leg printing makes him stand out, and because of the lack of hair, he looks much more simple and basic than the others. Girl solder: (Faora?) Very nice, love the armor/helmet combo, printing's sweet, but the eye's on the helmet look odd. Guy Solder: Just up the above review, this one's even better, but has the same eye problem. Zod: Sorry, that hair doesn't look very threatening, and ruins (IMHO) the bag guy look. There's also the WAY over-used head again. The chest symbol just looks like wavy lines, but the printing leans itself better to this color-scheme. Price: Did somebody say this was $45 USD? Seems Lego's getting even more greedy, as Malibu Mansion looks bigger and more complete. And sorry, Superman, but even at the same price, I'd go with the Mansion. Quote
The_Creator Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Looks like there are new seat pieces in the Jeep. Nope, it was used in the Adventure sets from 1998-2003. In both grey and tan. Unless of course TLG made a new piece that looks exactly like that one… Price: Did somebody say this was $45 USD? Seems Lego's getting even more greedy, as Malibu Mansion looks bigger and more complete. And sorry, Superman, but even at the same price, I'd go with the Mansion. It's $49.99 according to Brickset. Or2Me2 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I don't fig the theme, but I like the ship so much! Quote

I blame Snyder for the colorless sets, it a colorless movie. the jeep is accurate to the pic of supes and lois at the military based, thet jeeps are plain tan Soldier's name is Colonel Hardy, he's bald in the movie and generic looking.too. Feamale soldier is Faora. The male armoured guy is ZOD, KNEEL before him, but yeah The soldier you think is Zod is Tor-An, He does look awesome though, and very threating to me. Quote
jonwil Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Zoe's buddies look incredible! Gonna get me an army of them! Lots of new moulds - the car seat, gun, helmet and cape - ace! The car seat isn't new, its been around since about 1998 or so. Its a nice piece though :) Quote
TheStrategist Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) That piece is this: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=30149 Edited March 26, 2013 by TheStrategist Quote
TheLegoDr Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm not huge into Superman anyway, but this set looks decent. I may end up passing on the cheap Showdown set and pick this up instead since I won't need multiples of Zod or Superman. I rarely build vehicles unless they have some reason for me, so I doubt I would build anything in this set and just display the figures. I'm sure I could MOC something with some of the pieces though. There are so many great sets coming out this year, I am going to have to draw the line somewhere! Quote
Algernon Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Holy cow that looks awesome. I'll buy for the minifigs alone. Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Did you guys notice the odd similarities of the Black Zero Dropship to the newer Gungan Sub? Both are triangular (ish), both have 3 bubbles, one being a cockpit, the others being storage. It's not intentional, but it's interesting. Quote

sologuy369 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Does anybody know when we will find out when the special may/june figure is? Do you think it will be marvel or dc? I'm hoping for an Iron patriot! Edited March 26, 2013 by sologuy369 Quote
DJ Bricks Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Does anybody know when we will find out when the special may/june figure is? Do you think it will be marvel or dc? I'm hoping for an Iron patriot! When the May calander comes out. I believe we found out about the Hulk the first week of April. I hope we get the Iron Patriot for Marvel. Marvel is sure promoting that suit like it's verty important to the movie, as we have not seen movie sceen shots of the War Machine. Rumors state the the IP suit will be used from the get go at the beginning of the film. But if it is DC, i would want Jor-El from MoS. Quote
sologuy369 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Yes, TLC's choice for WM instead of IP are very strange. But ironically, WM is one of the most wanted minifigures from this wave! Quote
Sam892 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Yes, TLC's choice for WM instead of IP are very strange. But ironically, WM is one of the most wanted minifigures from this wave! It's most likely due to the concept art they were given. LEGO sets are designed at least a year before they are manufacture and sold. So the IM3 wave was most likely in the design stages around the time of the Avengers film. At that time IP may have only been in the movie for 30mins and the new grey Warmachine suit was the main suit. Also due to the availability of Actors and how films are shot, they could have shot the IP scenes first and decided to use it through out the film. However that the Warmachine minifigure has a different suit than the IM2 suit ( as explain in the prelude comic ). Quote

True, but that is why i hope for an IP polybag for May, so i can get with the MoS sets. Or he could go back to the WM armour for the act 2, as he probably felt the IP painted a bullsye on him, and for the act 3, be ordered to become IP again. Cheadle did say that WM goes through a couple iterations in this film. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I think there will be an IP polybag, or if there's a Marvel visual dictionary he could be the exclusive fig. Or the Mark 25 . Quote

Sam892 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Mark 25 is the hulkbuster right? or the silver centurion? The Hulk Buster is mark 38, The Shotgun is mark 40, And Silver Centurion is Mark 33, Plus I think the Godkiller maybe mark 17. Do you mean the Deep Space suit? Quote

Do you mean the Deep Space suit? I think that Mark 17 is the heartbreaker. I don't think we've heard what the Mark 25 is, or the Deep Space suit. What's this about the Godkiller suit? It would be awesome if we got that in the movie. Quote
