Actually the X-men are really popular at the moment. In January X-men titles held 3 spots in the top 20 selling comic books of the month. In Febuary that changed to Two in the top ten. The X-men also have the largest amount of titles in the Marvel now relaunch, with a total of Ten books ( Avengers have 8 ). On top of that LEGO also have a Wolverine set out on shelves when the Wolverine Film comes out ( Choppershowdown, even though unrelated). Next year Day of Future past comes out which is getting a lot of media attention at the moment. Lastly MTV reported ( along with many other sites) that a new Uncanny X-men cartoon is in production at the moment.

Sure Iron man is popular but a lot of his sales will be pushed by the film. By the time December comes the whole Iron man hype will have faded and that hype will be towards the next Marvel film.

A large Iron man set may also require new Molds ( many of the new suits change the traditional faceplate shape, Igor, Shotgun ect), which Lego don't do for S@H exclusives. Same with Spider-man lots of his new villains require new Molds ( Lizard, Rhino, Scorpion ect) and even his friends ( White Tiger). Plus the Ultimate Spider-man Frachise is more aimed at kids ( not moaning as I love the show and sets.) which S@h sets are not, being aimed more at 16+.

An X-mansion would be similar to Arkham in the fact that they both:

Large Buildings that can use modular technigues.

Both have lots of Exculsive Figures with out new Molds ( Beast, Nightcrawler ect).

Plus both Appeal to more of an AFOl auidence and appeal to Kids at the same time.

Although X-Men comic books are some what popular at the moment, when your talking about Marvel lego sets, there going to be based off the MCU mainly. The Wolverine Chopper Showdown is a cheap set that gives you three main X-Men characters giving people the chance to pick up something little and nice to represent another part of the Marvel Universe. If there is an X-Men show similar to the Ultimate Spider Man show that gets released, I could see some products being made based off of that show, but at the moment, Lego Marvel's main focus is on the MCU films and a little bit of Ultimate Spider Man and that's why I just don't see an X-Mansion S@H excluisve being released in the near future since it's abssed off X-Men and would require a lot new minifigure molds. I personally think we'll end up seeing something form Iron Man 3, The Avengers or the Ulitmate Spider Man as the Marvel exclusive set next year.

@Sam82, I'm not saying the X-Mansion is impossible, but what I am trying to say is that we're probally not going to get one next year so don't give up hope on seeing one eventually. It's just at the moment I think Lego Marvel has a lot more based off the MCU films to cover so get that out of the way and then move on to the large comic book based sets. By the way, I tihnk if you wanted a good lego Beast and Nightcrawler you would need new molds, but other one's don't require new molds. Also S@H exclusive are meant for pretty much anyone who has the money kids and adults so you want something that appeals to both groups and I think something like the Helicarrire is that.

Most the X characters don't require new Molds:

Rouge

Gambit

Beast

Cyclops

Nightcrawler

Storm

Kitty Pyrde

Colossus

None of these require anything new. The main points to me that make X-man more likely are:

1) the S@H set is alway slightly niche and aimed at a older age group.

While sure a Iron man set appeals to everyone, why would LEGO make a Set that everyone wants and limit it to their stores. LEGO stores are rare outside the UK and US, and lots of parents won't pay £130 + shipping on the last Iron man set to complete a series. The S@H sets are always based around an area which has multiple appearances and, can be used in Multiple scenarios. The end finale from any film goes against this, an Oscorp tower does aswell ( since we've only seen it once in USM ). The X-mansion however can have lots of scenarios that can play out, just like Arkham, The Death Star, ect. Plus with the Wave Of IM sets we just had their isn't many Characters left that need Figures. Apart from Happy, Maya and a load suits. Where as an X set would be all or mostly Exclusive figures.

Everything fits Exclusive figures, lots of possible building techniques, the mansion would translate well to UCS, franchise getting lots of attention, new films, books and maybe cartoon and it fits the older age group while still appealing to everyone.

Nightcrawler would need a new mould for his tail.

No you would just print it on the back of the torso. As a tail would restrict the figures ability to sit down.

Not if they make it like th Chima tails. Plus his tail printed on his back would be an insult. But thats just me.

Do we know if we are getting any other marvel sets this year?

Not yet, but I wouldn't count one out for October because DC have had one set more this year (although Arkham is an exclusive.)

You mean other than the ones we already know about? I'm sure we'll probably get some in January 2013 based on Thor 2; probably nothing for X-Men until DOFP comes out (I doubt TLG would spend much money on sets for The Wolverine since it's basically testosterone/Jackman-fest).

Over in the Star Wars thread, Infernum posted a clipped pic from the May Lego store calendar showing the May 4th Han Solo fig. On the right side it looks like an ad for the Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone polybag set! I guess it's looking like this will be available as a promotion in May.

Looks like it will be £50 to get it, so I will have to wait getting the spider cycle set and get it next month along with the ultimate showdown and black zero escape. So this month for me is just TDKR set and the daily bugle set.

If its like last years promo you don't have to buy jut SH to get it. When I got the Hulk fig I got The Knightbus, POTC mill and a small AC set. Last year it was £25 as well. Hoping it stays the same so I can get some TMNT sets and get it.

I knew it! Justin was right! Y'all were wrong! Hahaha! Doubting me... I know that would be the exclusive polybag for May! I was right!

I see you're chuffed, £50 to get it though. Would've preferred an iron patriot for that.

$75 is normally £50. $50/40 is normally £25.

Ye but on the screenshot of the store calander, I can't see anywhere that states an amount. The only one I see is the amount for May the Fourth.

Derp, yeah I looked at the star wars thing (how stupid.) Maybe it will be for £25 like the hulk then, that will be more convenient for me (or I can get 2  .) I saw something about May 16th.
