DJ Bricks Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Yea, the Mandarin's buggy seems like such a fitting vehicle now.. But I don't understand why they gave him such a focus in the sets really. He's Iron Man's arch-nemesis in the comics, why not? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) I think in the battle of smallville set , Lego gave faora the wrong hair on the box , it should have been the brown hair not the spiked ( that according to pictures I've seen of her ). Do you mean the Toy Fair pictures? If so, that was Tor-An with Faora's torso! The spiky hair is part of the final figure, and what comes in the set. Edited April 25, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
Santaduckz Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 He's Iron Man's arch-nemesis in the comics, why not? Go and see the movie, I don't want to spoil anything. ;) Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 On the battle of Smallville box it shows Tor-An with that short brown hair and Faora with spiked hair , but in the movie images of them I,ve seen , Faora has short brown hair and Tor-An has Spiked. I,m just saying I think Lego messed up on the box. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Well, if that's so, LEGO messed up on the minifigs, too, not just the box! Though I doubt this is so. I don't want to be rude, but are you SURE you didn't mix Tor-An and Faora up in the images? Quote

BrickArtist4U Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 After viewing the new Iron man Trailer I'm suprised LEGO didn't make a larger set for the ultimate showdown. From the trailer it appears that there will be Iron Patriot, the Heartbreaker suit, Hulkbuster, Deepspace suit, Silver centurion and another 37 suits. I'm hoping that if we are getting another set in the Fall that its based around this and not Thor 2. Instead pushing a Thor set to a January release. The Iron Legion seem every important to the story, and while I don't expect LEGO to make all 40 suits I would have expected more. Hi, I have made a hulkbuster, you can find it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/legolover2015/8673221016/ Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) This spoiler regards Iron Man 3 The likeliest reason The Mandarin is portrayed as a villain in the sets is to avoid speculation because the trailer portrays The Mandarin as the head honcho. I say this is a great move by LEGO. Edited April 25, 2013 by Wall E2624 Quote

I,m just saying I think Lego messed up on the box. I've seen Tor-An with the short brown hair in the pictures. Also I've seen Faora with the same hairstyle and color in the pictures. Ultimately I'm sure Lego gave Faora the spiky hair so as to look different from Tor-An (It would be weird if they had the same hairpiece). As for the color I've seen some pictures where her hair looks more black than brown. And truthfully Lego is almost always a bit off on hair color. Zod has a dark brown almost black hair color in the images but on the actual minifigure they gave him a brown goatee and black eyebrows and hairpiece, it's like Lego couldn't commit to his hair being either brown or black so they threw in both (And it doesn't look right). So the box art is correct on which hairpiece goes where, Lego just made a few design decisions inaccurate to the movie. Quote
Markypops Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Managed to get Superman set 76009 from Argos this week. The only thing was I had to order it online for collection in store, not such a problem as there is a store only 10 mins away. Quote
Faefrost Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I've see the Black Zero Escape set on the shelves at Walmart as of last night. No sign of the other two yet. Quote

deskp Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I don't like the mismatching hair either, but I believe Zod's goatee is brown to differentiate it from the mouth. In the Movie both his beard and hair is dark borwn, Lego is just too cheap to make the hair piece in a new color. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 In the Movie both his beard and hair is dark borwn, Lego is just too cheap to make the hair piece in a new color. That piece already exists in dark brown…LEGO just makes choices we don't understand sometimes, like Obi-Wan's hair always being orange. For all we know the designers might have only received stills and other materials that made his hair look darker than his goatee, or black. There is going to be a lot of stylized color in the film by the looks of it (and just because it's Zack Snyder), so judging colors of things isn't always the easiest. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 *pic* Hmm...ya got me there! But I am glad that LEGO gave her the black spiky hair because I want it. Could be useful for a Thalia Grace custom (Rick Riordan, anyone.....?) Quote
305Bats Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 They need to make the spiky hair in yellow for my Aquaman! Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Have any of you guys thought of using this beard to make the Mandrin look more like the comic book one ? Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Have any of you guys thought of using this beard to make the Mandrin look more like the comic book one ? Is that Neptunes Beard? I would be more for a brown Santa/Gnome beard if that piece would exist but IMO they should have printed the beard in the first place. It´s not even that bushy or long and the beardless head isn´t even that useful in kitbashing. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Is that Neptunes Beard? It is actually Sensei Wu's beard from the Ninjago line. I too, would prefer a printed beard or a smaller one, but it is better than what he has now, I suppose. Quote
305Bats Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 They have. Minifigures Series 7's Tennis Ace: Yeah but it's tan. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Actually the beard is Neptune's and Wu's. Only in black. The Tennis Ace's hair isn't brick yellow, but Aquaman is currently the only minifigure to have so. Quote
