Problem is that especially with the marvel movies, the hype for kids has gone. LEGO sets take a year each to plan. So by the time they made movie accurate stuff, so by the time sets were released the majority of kids would more interested in Captain America 2.

If the kid who played Harley is right, and the guys who did the X-men panel are right then we are getting some cool stuff. But with Thor coming out as well I'm guessing that Spidey will have to wait a bit for more sets. I'm still sticking to my guns and saying that X-men will be the S@H Exculsive. Plus if the new Iron man set does have Harley then I'm guessing he's just shoe horned in to a set.

Who is harley and what is this new iron man set?

WB exec's say that Man of Steel is super awesome so i'm guessing they'll try turning it into a trilogy.

I heard Superman is going to be a trilogy. If that does happen we may see more Superman related characters, which would be nice. I hope, although I wouldn't be surprised, if TLG started doing Justice League characters and corresponding villiens in future waves.

As far as Marvel goes, I'm hoping there's a new animated X-Men TV show soon, since it's been 5 years since the last one then we could get some X-Men sets.

Yeah I know it isn't really practical, just something I was wishing was

On the other hand I hope these possible additional sets do in fact turn up to be real! And even more so then that, I hope if there really is a Harley fig involved somewhere it is more of a throw in because I'm still hoping for a set with a bunch of suits!

I would like it if LEGO gets rid of the DC license and spend all of their quality skills on Marvel sets because the quality of the Marvel sets are super low thanks to the DC sets.

Exactly how do you figure the DC sets affect the quality of Marvel sets?

It doesn't affect the quality at all. That's like demanding that half of the Star Wars wave should be eliminated because it diminishes the quality of the other half. If you think that the Marvel sets of recent are of poor quality, then you obviously have a problem with that specific designer. It's not like one person designs every single set.

I personally think that the Iron Man 3 were solid. Just my two cents though.

I want the iron patriot but don't really want the game. Lego games got old years ago. :(

Anyways, I hear this Lego Batman movie is bascially just the cutscenes from the game. Is that true?

How dare you say this??? Lego games are my guilty pleasure. With the release of DC superheroes on iOS(Lego Batman 2 for iphone/ipad with polished graphics and the JLA mode from the portable games for 4.99) they changed up the formula now that instead of easily earning the red bricks and characters, they want you to buy gold bricks to unlock half of the characters, and the character roster is increased to 80+ now... WIth that said, the Iron Man Patriot figure is the way to go, but kind of unrelated to the marvel games I think... I have a feeling that we will see the many iron man suits in the game more than they exist in minifigures currently... Man I mean the games are great and all, but I am still hoping we sill see more DC sets other than batman, in the near future...

I wish the Clark kent mini figure came with an alternate chest piece without the superman custome underneath.. hehehe

I believe we don't get another IM3 set, it would be too late. It's probably a misunderstanding and related to the Lego video game.

I do believe, though, that we get another X-Men set (small), and 3 Thor2 sets corresponding to the IM3 & MoS sets in size. Same goes for the CA2 movie. (I don't believe in sets following the Agents TV series.) Bigger Marvel sets only for Avengers 2 movie I guess. Regarding a huge 200€ set for Marvel, I believe there's a possibility for that. Same possibility as for Wayne Mansion being made.

And just my 2 cent - but I am kind of happy with the size and numbers of the Super Heroes sets. Take a look at SW, each wave you can spend almost 1000€ these days. It's getting old pretty fast. And I hope the SH series lives a little longer than other lines from Lego.

I don't know about that one, the Bat and Tumbler set is pretty weak as well. :sceptic: Compared to LOTR and SW so far, mostly all of the sets are lackluster. The SW wave includes three large sets (Sail Barge, RGS and AT-TE) this summer and none for Superheroes is surprising. Not for lack of subject matter either, they could be holding out seeing if the line is successful until releasing more and better sets.

It would be nice to have the Helicarrier or Stark Tower as the Marvel D2C next year and some Thor 2 and Fantastic 4 sets.

I think this is it. The line is still extremely young (compared to Star Wars) so I feel like TLG is still testing the waters a little bit to see how big they can go with Marvel. The only thing that makes me question that this TLG's thinking is the fact that LoTR is just as young and is getting a $200 set this year.

I don't know about you guys, but this line is extremely successful, I mean even the minifigures alone sell the sets, everytime I go to toy shops I see the superheroes line always low on stock, the one time I see all the sets together is when they stock up on items for a big weekend and stuff so I don't know, if they play their cards right, release a Hall of Justice set or Hall of Doom, and use the minifigures seen in the lego batman set it could work for the DC line, but the marvel sets I would think are motivated by movies, and with thor, captain america, the wolverine movie, and the upcoming days of future past coming up we might see a mash up of xmen, but please no more spiderman... I think we have the basic minifigures I think... I don't know, the DC sets seems more elaborate than the marvel I would think.

If we are getting new Marvel sets (hopefully some more suits for the Iron Armoury!), does that mean we'll get new DC sets as well?

I'd imagine they want to keep roughly equal numbers of Marvel and DC Universe sets. That probably means, for now at least, that we'll see a lot of "comic book" sets on the DC side to keep pace with a Marvel line more rooted in the MCU and Spider-Man cartoon.

I´ve got the feeling Thor is being completely ignored or gets a UCS set this fall or in January, as his movies are the weirdest of the MCU and I heard Hasbros toyline for this film was selling the worst (although I heard that was because they mostly made Thor actionfigures with different functions instead of other characters from the film). Cap gets a few sets for his movie in April and Ultimate Spider-Man gets another few sets. It looks like they want to give us a member of the team in each set. Iron Fist in one, Nova in one, Fury in one. Only Power Man and the tiger girl are missing and they aren´t even needing new special molds to be made for them like most other figs.

DC doesn´t have that much freedom. No movie is there but the Beware the Batman show and Teen Titans Go could make for sets. But then again, Beware would need to be popular with children, otherwise it would be hard to market unknown characters like Pig Man and Arnaky to them and Teen Titans looks like it has no conflict, thus no villains and I don´t think a superhero line without conflict makes any sense. Best idea would be Justice League as a lead in to the movie with some comic book versions but that would actually be something I would buy right away without questions...

The only thing that makes me question that this TLG's thinking is the fact that LoTR is just as young and is getting a $200 set this year.

And that´s why this line of thinking is not true. Which LEGO lines are there that don´t have at least one set for 80€ or more? None to very few. DC/Marvel got the Quinjet and Batcave butthat was last year. This years biggest set is 60€ Battle of Smallville which is very odd.

I believe LEGO prefers small sets for the Superhero line as the characters are most important and they don´t care a single bit about designs of the models and either make the vehicles completely different priceclasses (the Tumbler would be a 10€ model on it´s own, Batmobile much shorter than in any film/show/comic) or cobble something together that has no relation to anything whatsoever (Aldrichs speedboat, flamethrowing golfcart).

I hope LEGO get´s it together again and try to do Superheroes more like every other one of their lines. The way it is now is just stupid. I am buying the TDKR set not because I like the designs (Bane is totally ruined even though they bought a full minifig head printer, the tumbler is way to small and I would have gladly skipped The Bat), I buy it because I know there will never be a better version of this set.

Do you Guys think TLG will make Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. sets ?

I doubt it - although it doesn't look inherently "adult" in nature, the show won't exactly be kid-oriented like Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm sure they'll find some way to introduce a Coulson minifig though, since he's such a fan-favorite character. Maybe he'll figure prominently in the new Captain America movie.

Yeah I figure TLG already has their hands full trying to deal with all the movie and TV shows Marvel has coming out coming out so I really doubt they would make sets based on this less kid friendly show. I'm more interested in seeing if they will make sets for the new Hulk and the Agents of Smash show! I have no idea if the show will be any good or not, but it looks really colorful and would be a great opportunity to get some more Hulk figures.

Seeing as the show is aimed toward younger children, I doubt that we'll see any sets for the show as they would be pricy because of the Hulk molds. The Helicarrier only had one Hulk figure and costed 10$ too much. Now imagine having four of them...

I think the target audience is the same as A:EMH and USM, but I could be wrong on that. In my opinion, the only character that would require the expensive Hulk mold would be Red Hulk, and that would only be a change of color so I don't think that would be too unrealistic. All the other main characters could probably get away with being regular mini-fig sized.

She-Hulk yeah, but I'd be VERY disappointed to have a regular size version of A-Bomb, considering he's roughly a similar size to Hulk.

Yeah you're right he would need an entirely new mold, and that could get pricey. Then again, TLG hasn't released all the main characters from USM (even though I fully expect they will at some point) so maybe they could make a few sets that wouldn't require new molds. There is so much material for TLG to base sets off that a lot is going to have to get left out so who really knows at this point what they are going to do.

Sadly no, it's just to the fact that Marvel has much more important stuff going on at the moment that I think they would want lego to make sets about.

I have to agree with many by the way, about the lack of large sets in the superhero theme. This I believe is mainly due to the imbalance of DC and Marvel at the moment as DC has very little coming out, while Marvel has 2 MCU movies coming out every year as well as some other material. Hopefully in time we'll get to see some larger sets. Next year I believe we'll get a 70$ DC and Marvel set, but a large 160$ Marvel Exclusive set. Although 2014 will probally not bring us the massive sets weere looking for, just wait until 2015 when we have the all the Superhero moveis being released, I think at that point the Superhero's theme will start to evolve into what the Star Wars Theme is now.

Just to kill the rumor about more Iron Man 3 sets, it's pretty clear when you read the whole article, that the actor kid who plays Harley is pretty much just spinning his wheels (pardon the pun). He speculates randomly on Avengers 2 and Iron Man 4, and when asked about the toy stuff, he just kind of spits out every possible thing he hopes will exist. There won't be a game based on Iron Man 3 - Lego doesn't get that specific with its games (that's like saying we'd get a whole game for each Hobbit film). The kid's clearly a good fellow, but he obviously knows nothing real about the upcoming movies and merchandise. I reckon we'll see 2-3 sets each for Thor 2, Captain America 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy - then a full wave for Avengers 2 when it hits. That pretty clearly seems to be Lego's business strategy with the "intermediate" movies - a modest wave of 3 sets (Iron Man 3, Man Of Steel). If Thor 2 also has 3 sets, we can assume that this is the standard estimate from now on for anything other than an uber blockbuster (Avengers 2, the Hobbit movies, a new Star Wars movie, etc.)

I don't think so. Kids want superheroes, not people in suits wielding guns.
