Pulp Detective Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I don't think so. Kids want superheroes, not people in suits wielding guns. Well the Agents theme back on 2008 had also people weilding guns and also the whole theme had super hero feeling on it. Quote
The Joker1 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Well the Agents theme back on 2008 had also people weilding guns and also the whole theme had super hero feeling on it. This is true, But i think the excitement was created partly by the madly insane vilians and their crazy vehicles. Im not sure what baddies will be in S.H.I.E.L.D but i dont think they would give enough excitement. (I would still like the theme though)On a separate note in case anyone forgot the Iron man promo is out today. Here is a little write up http://www.madbricks.com/ Quote
Sam892 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I don't think so. Kids want superheroes, not people in suits wielding guns. Well from the trailer you can see that Superheroes and other weird creatures are in the show, its not just people in suits. Quote
The Brigante Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I wouldn't be surprised either way. Yes, it's mostly a CIA/MI5/insert region appropriate government agency here show, which I doubt kids will want, but at the same time, it's Son Of Coul and at least one fairly popular superhero if the trailers are anything to go by. I reckon we'll maybe get a one off set and nothing more. Quote
KazeMonsuta Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I think its also a question of the time the series will air. When its late in the evenings because of the rating, kids will probably be unable to see it and thus have no clue about the new characters. No involvment with the characters and thus no sympathy. Coulson is known from the Avengers, he could be in a set, but the other agents are just unknown characters. And if the series airs late, kids will have no clue abput them. I'm interested in how this will turn out. Quote
LMB10 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 It's set to air at 8pm, so kids can watch it. I reckon Lego might make one or two sets based off of it, but there's a ton of other Marvel shows and films coming out that would be more profitable. Quote
montgocloud Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/nailbiter111/news/?a=79610 The article mentions and shows an unused War Machine paint job. This could be one of the reasons that he is in the Extremis Sea Port Battle-another being that he is an iconic character in general. Quote

Not really a spoiler, but might as well but it in spoiler brackets just in case... That's the War Machine Mk II armor, that gets repainted/rebranded Iron Patriot. Quote

Plus in the Iron man 3 prelude comic ( set between 2 and 3 ), Tony takes back Rhodeys suit and builds him the square reactor one. Mainly because the orginal suit was mostly design by Justin Hammer, which Tony sees as a large insult on his work. Quote

They've been drooling over the reaction to the trailer. I don't think Lego was originally planning to do a set, as they tend not to do live action TV shows. But this show may hit too hard to resist. At least a Phil Coulson, Luke Cage, Shield Agent and Lola set. Quote
montgocloud Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 That's the War Machine Mk II armor, that gets repainted/rebranded Iron Patriot. Well, that's good to know. I hadn't really thought about an "in-between" armor, but that even further proves the point that LEGO's designs were based around concept art that was unused in the film as this armor is clearly based on the armor you mentioned. I would actually enjoy having a sleek red car. Luke Cage is also a good idea. But I fear that Lego could also just throw him out at Comic-Con as a comic variant. Or even worse: Limited Agents of SHIELD minifigures at Comic Con, like last year's figures. Urgh, scary thoughts. Quote

Spider-Man Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 When will we know who the CC exclusives are? Comic-Con itself? Last year we didn't know until like two nights before they were released, so I would imagine it would be the same timeframe this year. Quote

Minifigures Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 With all the Super Heroes cartoon series and films that are currently airing and coming soon, DC and Marvel Super Heroes have never been so popular and LEGO should be cashing in more with a lot more sets. Lets hope we see some some Thor 2 sets and a lot more in 2014. I do get a bit fed up of LEGO repeating old Batman sets, however that is there policy for Star Wars so I can't see them changing that. I'm really hoping that TLG starts producing more sets for both themes in general. I feel like that may be the way they are going considering the rumors going around about another release in the summer/fall of an X-Men related set of another Iron-Man set. I really think that with how popular heroes are right now that these themes could be TLG's highest selling sets if handled properly. Quote

The problem is Legos set choices aren't really geared towards the long time collector. Of DC subjects Batman sells insanely better than anything else. Batman goes best with Lego because of the vehicles, and fans expect certain classic Batman vehicles. The same for the Star Wars sets. We might not want a 4th Millenium Falcon, but for most of their purchasers and target audience that one is their first. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Lego just shipped my Bugle I just bought, along with the Iron Man poly bag (finally gonna get the Mark 6.) Quote
Cammo Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 For the Dutch and Belgian LEGO Super Heroes fans: The new Man of Steel & Iron Man 3 sets are finally available on the official site. Although they are very expensive. Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does anyone think we could see the Silver Surfer ? Quote
Sam892 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does anyone think we could see the Silver Surfer ? Not sure. The Fantasic Four haven't really had any new publicity. That said maybe LEGO will release one set since Galactus and the FF are in the LEGO Marvel superheroes video game. Silver surfer would be difficult, since he's silver. LEGO would have to use silver chrome, which is usually reserved for promotional figures. It's not impossible, but a unlikely we will see him soon. Quote
