Guys, the Invisible Woman answer is obvious. Just include her in her uniform. Then it comes with TWO Invisible Women, the uniform one and the one that's so invisible you can't even see it! (Worked with WW's jet in Superman vs. Lex Luthor and Bilbo in Riddles for the Ring and Barrel Escape.)

I'd just be happy if she was in her uniform and 1 you could use your imagination and two she could be holding trans clear force field pieces.

Were there any shows in 2012 still running on TV of batman? No! As brave and the bold was cancelled in 2011. Yet he still got a full wave of sets based on comic book appearances! Kids know the F4 anyway and they are constantly guest starring in other marvel animated and videogame media. The point is Lego make up their own scenarios and put in characters that are most popular apart from the movie sets which are based off the films. The F4 are really popular with kids. There hasn't been media about them for years but I still see kids playing with their action figures and wearing their emblems on their t-shirts. Plus when I went to the states last we went to marvel island at universal and the F4 were there with kids for photo ops and riding motorcycles right up there with wolverine cap and Spiderman. The queue for the F4 was so long that it put some people off queuing up! The point is Lego can still make comic based sets considering they only have two big mcu movies in the next year Thro and cap. I doubt guardians of the galaxy will get many sets maybe 1 if marvel want one but I'm pretty sure not many kids have even heard of gotg unless they watched that one off episode of emh. What I'm saying is with only cap in the 2014 line they will have to make their own scenario comic sets and maybe some ultimate Spiderman. I would estimate if there are going to be thor 2 sets they would be released November- December 2013 to publicise the film's release.

Exactly, a F4 would sell even without a movie.

For the set, i agree about IW. MF would have to have the hairpiece from the game( the greying sideburns are an important part of his character), Torch all flamed on with the hairpiece from the video game, and Thing like the game.

Have the in the fantasticar and them vs, an ent like built Galactus and a pearl grey Surfer (sorry realistically speaking, he'll be that, no chrome)

And with GotG, they will need all the merchandising help they can get.

I still think they may release the Thor sets (if there are any) for the winter wave, which would coincide with the dvd/blu-ray release similar to how TDKR set was last year as opposed to the theatrical release. Although, it would be best to sneak them in before the Christmas holiday.

As for Batman, he is just bankable anyway. I don't think he needs a lot of media buzz to get his name out there.

GOTG, on the other hand, I've never heard of until they talked about doing a movie. I still don't know who they are, but I saw a picture of them once. I highly doubt they would release sets based on them, although I'm sure the figures would be cool. Isn't there a giant tree like guy and then a small animal? It might be weird to get minifigures of them, but maybe not.

I would imagine more Batman, if only one more set, and then more Avenger-related material since they are more well known at this given time. I'd love more x-men and a F4 set because I like variety instead of constant rehashes, but I'm sure LEGO knows what they are doing. People are getting upset about the rare new figure, yet their sales are still going through the roof.. I think that says something.

GotG sets will happen. The designs are interesting (i'm a big fan of them, i've read the 2008 run, am subscribed to the NOW! series and have checked the older stuff) and it's the next big Marvel movie. I just want some comic based sets and not that ultimate spider-man megablocks. The show is crap and the designs are hideous. I want a good old spidey fight with some sinister six members and a museum or a bank. Hell, they could make a deluxe set and add a modular skyscraper. I'd really love to see modular buildings inserted into the superhero line.

I highly doubt they will make sets based on it. Thor the dark world and Captain America: The winter soldier are the next two big marvel movies and they are the most well known and the two that will draw the largest audience especially Lego's target age range. I'm not planning on even seeing the gotg movie unless the trailer impresses me! When I talked to some of my mates today they claimed they'd never heard of the gotg. I even asked an older marvel fan and he had no idea who they were. I agree with the hate on usm but the sets are far from badly designed. The sets themselves are as good as the avengers and xmen one and it gives a good opportunity to get some Spidey villains and other characters.

I don't see why we would get sets based on GOTG. The movie will most likely do well as its tied in with the Avengers. Many people know who they are despite what many people are saying, there is a large fan base.

It's exactly like Doctor Strange, Ant man and Black Panther. Just because they are not mainstream characters doesn't mean that they won't get the LEGO treatment. Before 2008 not many people would have know about Iron man, Captain America and Thor. Now they are the Marvel poster boys.

Yeah guys, we have more of a chance of seeing GotG sets than Fantastic Four/X-men comic-based sets next year. I don't see why they wont other than new mold expenses, but it will be 2014 and technology will be more advanced.

Well, like i said, GotG will need all the marketing exposure it can get, so yeah GotG sets, Lego Rocket Raccon!!!!

I actually like the show, minus the silly kid humor.

I want White Tiger as the next teammate in LEGO form, she's my favorite of the team. Maybe more Spidey villians Goblin, Lizard. Electro, Rhino.

I expect wave in October with, three or four Thor:TDW sets, an Ultimate Spidey set, an X-Men set, and maybe a f4 set

Does anyone even know how long the license is good for? We can be arguing over what sets on what movies might be released, but if LEGO loses the license than we get nothing.

2015, i think. But i believe Super Heroes, both DC and Marvel, are huge money makers for lego right now. I highly doubt that Lego wouldn't renew the rights, they done it with star wars a few times.

Honestly the fact that GoTG is getting movie shows they are known, for something that is. I know they tie in with Thanos, who was shown in the Avengers, and the Nova Corps.

but it's still them regardless of the designs

Safari Belloq = White suit Belloq

???

They still were precursors to the sets. And that counts.

But still they used the 2006 Mr. Freeze, Penguin and Scarecrow for LEGO Batman 2 when the new versions released at the same time as Aquaman. It´s more of a guessing game like Blakstone said but the discussion here sounds like FF is confirmed when the stuff that is previewed in the games is still off by 80%.

Hands are one of the key parts that absolutely cannot be done transparent. The polycarbonate is too brittle for the flex needed to grab things and they would break much too easily.

Sure mate? The hook hand was made in transparent colors back for Alpha Team and it doesn´t look like it was overly brittle.

They could make an arm and a leg trans clear for Sue, although...they haven't made trans hands have they? That could be a nice compromise, like she's starting to transform.

They can make every piece in trans colors, it´s just that two trans pieces that go together are harder to take apart which prompts LEGO to avoid those combinations.

Trans hands could be made but it wouldn´t look that good IMO and it looks like LEGO doesn´t like to produce hands in too many colors and prefers to reuse hands in existing colors even when they don´t fit with the rest of the detailed designs (black hands on the fully red Imperial Royal Guards, dark grey hands on the babyblue Aayla Secura, purple hands on Chitauri).

The Batman wave came about because of TDKR coming out in the same year and the general cry-out for Batman sets after they cancelled the 2006 line only months after The Dark Knight. At least that´s how I explain the 1:1 adaptions of sets of the 2006 line.

Also you have to know that DC (and by extension LEGO and Marvel, but DC moreso) is downright retarded and makes rash and nonsensical decisions based on very vague lines of thought. DC wanted to do a Green Lantern trilogy starting in 2011, making it another popular fantasy universe like Harry Potter. They announced three movies, filmed a crap movie that emphasized the worst parts of GL and had a general crap story. This made everything GL related toxic to them and caused the cancelation of GLTAS that was actually doing well on tv. Now they played it safe with Man of Steel and didn´t want to make the same mistakes so they made the movie and wanted to wait for the movie to come out to confirm the sequels. DISREGARD THAT, a week before release they announce MOS 2, even though a premiere screening isn´t really meaningful for a movie in the long run.

And this is the story all about how Batman is the only thing that DC thinks is monetarily viable and LEGO doesn´t want to do FF sets. The FF have no stable media presence, relying on cameos in other shows. Toy manufacturers only believe in something if it guarantees them sales and they think only movies and shows guarantee them sales and if the movie or show go south they back out with their toys and a show or movie about another character gets made. Those people don´t care about conventions and what the children in their neighborhood like for characters, what do you think they want to do? Sell toys to kids?

I agree with the hate on usm but the sets are far from badly designed. The sets themselves are as good as the avengers and xmen one and it gives a good opportunity to get some Spidey villains and other characters.

The fig designs also aren´t off that far. Doom has a weird head and Spidey should have had a red torso with blue printing and boot printing but otherwise it´s probably the best we can get. Spider-Man Animated from the 90s will probably never see the light of day and Amazing Spider-Man (if it goes to LEGO) would only give us movie style redesigns.

I don't see why we would get sets based on GOTG. The movie will most likely do well as its tied in with the Avengers. Many people know who they are despite what many people are saying, there is a large fan base.

Thor toys sold very badly when he had his movie. The Iron Man 2 line of Hasbro also didn´t sell as good as expected and led to the crappy quality and selection of Iron Man 3 action figures. A popular movie doesn´t necessarily translate to good merchandise sales (but admittedly Hasbros expectations for IM2 sales were way too high).

It depends on what direction GOTG is taking.

Kid friendly Star Wars tone = I can see sets for it

Overly serious tone = Pure fan service for the few people that like the comic

And then it depends on LEGO increasing the yearly line-up to more than six sets.

Captain America 2, Thor 2, GOTG, Ultimate Spider-Man and maybe even Amazing Spider-Man. What are they going to do? One set per movie? GOTG is probably first in line to get no LEGO coverage in this situation.

Honestly the fact that GoTG is getting movie shows they are known, for something that is. I know they tie in with Thanos, who was shown in the Avengers, and the Nova Corps.

No it´s not. For all we know it can be just because some executive wants to push them, like how Cyborg is part of the Justice League in everything since New 52 (even in the LEGO game and JL:Doom) and does nothing of note except making DC less worrying about coming off as racist by having no black person on their main team.

I heard GOTG was some title in the 80s, was cancelled because of low sales and now suddenly got a reboot around the time of the Marvel buy-out. Sounds like an executive pushing their needs without regards.

That is purely game design choice that TT Games went with, since the models already existed in their data from the first game.

I'm not gonna say FF is confirmed, but just would be nice and all. I know Lego can't touch the movies and we already discussed that to death. But if they don't, no worries. I already have my custom FF figures. :P

Well considering the team isn't an overly serious group I don't see the movie being so, I mean a gun wielding raccoon bickering with a giant alien tree doesn't scream serious to me

I think we will see 3 sets for the movie (since that seems to be the norm now for movies). Just because something isn't "well known" doesn't mean it doesn't need merchandise. I mean look at PoP, I don't recall a lot of hype over that movie and yet we still got sets for it. Besides, it looks like the way things are going that absolutely anything tied into Marvel and the Avengers is absolute gold so I would be shocked if GotG doesn't take a lot of people by surprise.

There was certainly hype for the movie, considering it was a well known gaming franchise, and the movie was based on one of the very popular games of the rebooted series.

I really only want the FF in their basic forms. I don't need either an invisible invisible woman nor a flaming human torch. Maybe as an extra variation down the line, but if we only get one FF set I want them to look normal. Plus if the action figures are anything to go by those powered up forms never look quite right.

I think it's pretty likely we'll get a set with the FF eventually, if anything Lego might push out a comic set to try to capitalize on the movie.

Looks like Green Arrow and Black-suit Superman from DC and Spiderman and Spiderwoman from Marvel will be this years SDCC exclusives.

Disappointed about Green Arrow and Spiderwoman being exclusives to this year...

Damn green arrow I really wanted to see in an arrow based set. God damn it Lego!!!! Why do you have to make these foolhardy exclusives when you know people will want them most? Put them in sets and have done with it. That's amazing Spiderman 2's suit! guess that eliminates chances for sets from amazing Spiderman 2 then! Edited by legofreak86

Interestingly enough, it seems to be Arrows New 52 suit, so there is always room for him still in his more traditional garb, like the rest of the heroes. Black Superman is a bit odd as it uses the Man of Steel print. Ho hum, they look ok, though not as good as Bizarro and Shazam. Spiderman is pretty good, but Spiderwoman just doesn't do it for me!

That Spider-man, is he based on the new movie? Looks very similar to the new suit and with Disney having the Spidey mech rights.

Also when will LEGO learn that we need the whole Justice league accessible to us. So far Shazam, Green Arrow and technically Green lantern are all exclusive.

Yes he is I specified above. Hopefully as it seems they have merch rights now this is a preview figure for next year! Same with arrow hopefully!

That is actually a good sign to see an Amazing Spider-man minifig, that shows Disney/LEGO are possibly previewing their new merchandising license for ASM. I hope.

Green Arrow is cool, maybe we will get another version in a set? The other two, don't interest me. Overall not as big a loss as the previous years, for me at least.

News on the promos came very early this year, nice to have real news to discuss again.

I think superman is supposed to be from a scene from mos I remember him wearing black suit in a scene I shall not spoil.

Probably to be in more line with Jor-El from the movie, but made it Superman instead. But that's my guess. These figures always tend to relate to current media and chosen themes of the license.

Spoiler tags are there for that. Otherwise, we don't know what you're talking about. :/
