just2good Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 This is going to be the funniest yet interesting discussion of the year, later on tonight. I can't believe LEGO pulled this move again. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 That is actually a good sign to see an Amazing Spider-man minifig, that shows Disney/LEGO are possibly previewing their new merchandising license for ASM. I hope. Green Arrow is cool, maybe we will get another version in a set? The other two, don't interest me, overall not as big a loss as the previous years for me. Yeah I mean they couldn't even make an exclusive version if they didn't have merch rights to make it. I'm hoping that is a preview figure. Tbh I'd prefer asm and asm 2 sets over gotg ones any day of the week. Spidey doesn't have plain blue legs which is an improvement! I really hope there are asm sets as that Spidey figure is too cool for one promo exclusive. News on the promos came very early this year, nice to have real news to discuss again. Probably to be in more line with Jor-El from the movie, but made it Superman instead. But that's my guess. These figures always tend to relate to current media and chosen themes of the license. Spoiler tags are there for that. Otherwise, we don't know what you're talking about. :/ -Omi oh sorry I don't know how to do them. This is embarrassing... Quote
Omicron Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) oh sorry I don't know how to do them. This is embarrassing... Quote this post and you'll see them. -Omi Edited July 12, 2013 by Omicron Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Eh, I think last years were better. Nice to see Spider-Man using the 2004 colors (red for torso) -Sci Edited July 12, 2013 by CM4S Quote
eldiano Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 OMG WHYYYYY Green latern is a must!!! great another 1000usd bucks for all four figures... life sucks. but either way as a lego representative told me earlier the other day: about eight LEGO sets are sold every second! So it is safe to say, all SuperHeroe sets sell too well in fact. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Not a fan of the exclusive figs for the scalpers again. While they do not seem to be as impressive overall compared to last year, I'm still upset that Lego continues to make exclusive characters and not put them it sets, especially when the characters are major like Shazam, Bizarro, and Green Arrow. Now I just hope that Lego can fix their wrongs when SDCC begins and they unveil the other Justice League members we desperately need. Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 not to fussed about the DC ones but I like the two Marvel ones, shame I won't be able to get them :( Quote

News on the promos came very early this year, nice to have real news to discuss again. Yeah hopefully asm next year. I'd prefer they ditched gotg if it meant getting asm 2 sets! I would think they would be announced pretty soon after the winter range as the movie is out 18th April in the uk!!! Which is earlier than asm! That's also the month cap comes out! April 4th. Wow either cap and Spidey only get 2 sets each or cap gets the winter line with thor 2. Then Spidey gets April line or maybe march depending on how long before movie they want sets selling! Quote
Catanas Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Quote this post and you'll see them. -Omi I just looked it up and found other toys relating to it. It seems to be the 'skull' sequence (Which is partly in the trailer). Am sure you know what it is. :P Quote
Lance Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I think that Spidey is possibly a timed-exclusive. That is the Amazing Spiderman 2 suit, so I don't see why they would skip out on making sets for that... Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Quote this post and you'll see them. -Omi The scene I meant was When general zod shows superman the power of the world engine in a trance state after he takes information from superman's mind. Superman is seen wearing a black suit standing on a sea of skulls and slowly sinks into them after zod tells him he can't save the humans and the foundations of a new krypton have to be built on something (Thousands of skulls apparently). Didn't occur to me his suit was black in that scene though when I saw the movie.... -Omi Edited July 12, 2013 by Omicron Quote

Like with the original superman figure. Edited July 12, 2013 by legofreak86 Quote
Piranha Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Yeah hopefully asm next year. I'd prefer they ditched gotg if it meant getting asm 2 sets! I did not know ASM II comes out next year, I thought it was going to be released in 2015. That does concern me a little, as didn't Disney/LEGO just recently acquire the merchandising license from Sony? Since LEGO designs concept sets quite a while, years possibly in advance, they might not have enough time to design sets. Then again, the movie is 10 months away, and LEGO could always do a more traditional summer release after the film anyway in June or August. Either way, we probably won't hear more news until the Toy Fairs in January/February concerning spring/summer sets. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 not to fussed about the DC ones but I like the two Marvel ones, shame I won't be able to get them :( There is still hope for asm 2 spidey! Lego wouldn't even be allowed to make an exclusive unless Disney had merch rights for asm 2 and judging by this that spiderman is a preview figure of a wave of asm 2 sets in early 2014 to tie in with release date! Piranha Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Interesting tidbit from the USA today article. Other superheroes will be on hand at the LEGO booth as well as displays of new and upcoming LEGO construction sets. I take other superheroes, to mean possibly entirely new characters and also sets on display. They haven't shown sets before, so this year sounds pretty exciting. Quote
Catanas Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Yep. I know that scene. I can see how the suit would play into that. Didn't occur to me his suit was black in that scene though when I saw the movie.... -Omi Aye, I didn't notice it either, but it's kinda cool that they did that and it sort of makes sense. [Cynical] Especially from a merchandise standpoint [/Cynical] Quote
just2good Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Okay, so my little concern of them not showing off next year's figures is dismissed. From the article: Other superheroes will be on hand at the LEGO booth as well as displays of new and upcoming LEGO construction sets. So they'll show off some sets, not necessarily Super Heroes sets though. I'm guess Star Wars and Hobbit stuff, maybe even stuff from The LEGO Movie (which includes DC characters). EDIT: Darn, ninja'd by Piranha! Edited July 12, 2013 by just2good Quote
Omicron Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Since LEGO designs concept sets quite a while, years possibly in advance, they might not have enough time to design sets. Sometimes yes. Other times, last minute. Take other movie franchises. Sometimes these things just happen. Aye, I didn't notice it either, but it's kinda cool that they did that and it sort of makes sense. [Cynical] Especially from a merchandise standpoint [/Cynical] Gotta milk every last drop from the cash cow. :P -Omi Quote
Phantomscream Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Those are actually some really cool exclusives, Green Arrow and Spidey are my favourite of the bunch, though as usual I won't bother to sell a kidney to obtain these Looking forward to the reveals for next year! Quote
CMP Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Fantastic figs. Digging Spiderwoman and Green Arrow. Love the detail LEGO's pouring into them. Quote
305Bats Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I really hope we see another version of GA in a set,if not FU LEGO! Quote
kermit Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I like the red printing on the spiderman figure legs which the recent ones should of have. Quote
Cthulhu Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Oh, hot news! Don´t care about Arrow Green Arrow and black suited Superman, both are Movie or TV, what is great, since they are no mayor comicbook charakters, what i prefer. But Spider-Woman is very good, a must have and Spider-Man, even he looks like the Movie one is very well done, so i must have both of them! Better choise that last year i think, since they are not so necessary and more for the die hard collectors. And Spider-Woman may or may not a hint for more comicbook Avengers. Quote
KazeMonsuta Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 So that's 2 more charcters we'll probably won't see anymore? Yep, I'm still waiting for a hint of Phoenix or Shazam... They really had the mind to pull it off again. That's how they listen to some people's demands. Thanks a bunch. Quote
