Sam892 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I did not know ASM II comes out next year, I thought it was going to be released in 2015. That does concern me a little, as didn't Disney/LEGO just recently acquire the merchandising license from Sony? Since LEGO designs concept sets quite a while, years possibly in advance, they might not have enough time to design sets. Then again, the movie is 10 months away, and LEGO could always do a more traditional summer release after the film anyway in June or August. Either way, we probably won't hear more news until the Toy Fairs in January/February concerning spring/summer sets. Disney got the Merchandise rights back in 2011. So what's most likely happened is that for the past year and a half they ended the Megabloks contract, and started sending concept over to LEGO. I can't see them not having to increase the number of waves and sets. Quote
strangely Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Spider-man looks awesome. Printing on the side of his legs is all he's missing (though I would rather the legs be blue). I definitely think this means we're getting ASM sets (Sort of like the Nolan Batman promo fig that later appeared in a set). Which means I'll be able to add a good looking Spider-man to my collection (The ultimate one sucks). It's funny, the printing on Spider-man and Superman looks great, but the other two look a bit low quality (Especially the faces). Edited July 12, 2013 by strangely Quote
Kez Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Oh gosh, IMO those figures look awesome, sadly I will never get to own these cool figures as they are exclusive to America and they are too darn expensive, good luck to those getting them who will be attending the con this year and I certainly look forward to more new set/figure news. I think it's difficult to pin down the quality of the faces of GA and SW since they have large headgear that cover parts of their faces. Plus you gotta keep in mind these pics are being taken live from the event, and not some professional photo finish. -Omi Edited July 12, 2013 by Omicron Quote
commodore_legolas Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The figs look awesome! And for once I'm not mad at Lego, since I'll be going! Quote
DJ Bricks Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Guys, maybe the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit is all we're goin to get. But seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spiderwoman and GA, two fan favorites?! I thought Lego learned their lesson from last year Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Well, after spending 5 minutes frantically searching the forum, I found the pics. That Spider Man looks Amazing. Oh well, Im going to comic con next year, but it looks like it might be to late! Edited July 12, 2013 by Im a brickmaster. Quote
deskp Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 asm2 spidey looks good, i'd be suprised if he didnt end up in sets next year. spdier woman, looks boring, but i dont care for the characther anyways. green arrow, looks kindof specific, but I wish it was the one from ARROW tv show. Black superman is a waste, soo boring. Quote
strangely Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Guys, maybe the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit is all we're goin to get. That is always a possibility, but at this point I'd like to be optimistic. After all the Superman and DKR Batman were exclusives and made it into sets. And with the symbiote Spider-man we saw his torso used for Venom. I think it's likely that we'll see one of these characters in a set and with ASM2 coming out next year and Lego seemingly having the rights (doing even one minifigure must mean they have them) it seems like a moderately good chance we'll see something in set form. But if not I'll just save up and buy this Spider-man, I'll just wait and see. Quote
Omicron Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 After all the Superman and DKR Batman were exclusives and made it into sets. And what ever happened to the Green Lantern sets? Or the Shazam sets? Plus the DKR Batman was way different than the one released with the TDKR set. -Omi Quote
305Bats Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Yeah the SDCC Batman is movie accurate, the TDKR set one isn't! Quote

And the DKR minfigure had the same printing just recolored. Literally they just put the same line work on a dark grey torso and colored to match. Quote
Omicron Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 And the DKR minfigure had the same printing just recolored. Literally they just put the same line work on a dark grey torso and colored to match. A rather disappointing way of "making it" into the set. -Omi Quote
strangely Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 A rather disappointing way of "making it" into the set. Undoubtedly. But it was better than nothing. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 These figures look very nice. I finally got Adobe Illustrator so I could make some decals for those who can't get them but are desperate for them. They will take a while and that Spiderman could be the death of me, but I am up to the challenge. They also won't be perfect but I can try my best. Quote
Oky Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh man, I'm so mad right now. That Spider-Man is perfect! Why oh why can't we get one like that in the sets?!? Surprisingly I'm more annoyed about him than Spider Woman who is a nice fig too and would be neat to have, but not really necessary. However, it's depressing to see Green Arrow being one of the exclusives. He looks great and belongs in every Justice League collection. Don't care much about Superman. Much like the black-suit Spidey, he's one of the obscure variations of a character who is easily available in sets in their regular outfit which makes it okay for a con exclusive. I guess there is a chance that at least some of these are "preview edition" figs like the NYCC 2011 Superman, but I wouldn't hold my breath. They better have some mind-blowing sets and figs on display to make up for this or I'll be very upset. Sorry for the rant, but it's disappointing to see that TLG doesn't seem to have listened to the response to the previous exclusives at all. Quote
FinalFeature Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) I really want those minifigures especially Green Arrow New 52 costume. Wondering if the system at Comic Con will be like last years. Edited July 13, 2013 by LegoGalactus Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh man, those figures are amazing! I hope we get similar ones in terms of new heroes and level of detail in future waves! Quote
deskp Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh man, those figures are amazing! I hope we get similar ones in terms of new heroes and level of detail in future waves! the level of detail is dedicated by the source though. new 52 green arrow looks mroe detailed than classic green arrow for example. thats why wonder woman and classic superman looks abit plain in lego. Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) those figs look incredible!!!!!!!!!!!! My fav has to be the Spider-Man (though the legs could use a bit of work.) Spider-Woman looks great too but I don't really care for her. the same can be said for Black suit Supes. GA looks superb. im kinda happy he was an exclusive and not Flash or Martian Manhunter cause those guys to me are core JL members. hope to see Alfred, Nightwing and Batgirl at the minifig reveal, those figs are only missing from a complete Bat-Family Edited July 13, 2013 by TDKR2012 Quote

So what's most likely happened is that for the past year and a half they ended the Megabloks contract, and started sending concept over to LEGO. I can't see them not having to increase the number of waves and sets. The ASMan confirms it for me. Nice turn of events. Spider-man looks awesome. Printing on the side of his legs is all he's missing (though I would rather the legs be blue). I definitely think this means we're getting ASM sets (Sort of like the Nolan Batman promo fig that later appeared in a set). It's funny, the printing on Spider-man and Superman looks great, but the other two look a bit low quality (Especially the faces). It looks like LEGO left themselves a better window open with this years figs. Spider-Man would be more movie accurate with blue legs and red printing, it´s like the TDKR thing only that the better fig can be put in a set. Maybe they would need to do a double print with red that it doesn´t look like dark red and that´s why the legs are red plastic with blue printing but even then I can´t see LEGO just skipping ASM sets. Black Superman ist pretty useless and a one scene character anyway. Green Arrow with his New 52 costume I never expected to make it in a set anyway, LEGO is more interested in the classic Super Friends or the movie style anyway. Spider-Woman is a pretty obscure character with no appearances in shows and movies and seeing how she has near to no details on the torso they could just make changes there and call it different. It looks like this is LEGOs way of telling us exclusive Comic-Con figs aren´t exclusive at all and they just don´t want to make sets with those characters (right now). Now we can take our attention away from LEGO making this figures absurdly expensive and put it on complaining about LEGO still not having released all 9000 characters and their costume variations in sets. Well...... she did have a show back in the day. That starred that particular Spiderwoman. And then there was the other Spiderwoman in the absolutely horrible Iron Man cartoon, but I digress. -Omi Edited July 13, 2013 by Omicron Quote
The Legonater Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I'm disappointed by Green Arrow being an exclusive, he's by far one of my favorite DC heroes. Hopefully we see him in a set with a slightly different outfit? I care less about Spiderwoman, but she's definitely very accurate and a nice fig. Quote
305Bats Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Undoubtedly. But it was better than nothing. Not for me,I refuse to buy that minifig, therefore I have nothing! Quote
