halomaster96 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Anarky is the main villain of the show. And that set is awesome! I want the Flash Sorry, I haven't watched the show yet, but my point was that they used the Riddler instead of any of the obscure villains from the, also this was probably our only chance to get Ra's Al Ghul unless they make Wayne Manor. On another note, while I'm happy we're getting him, they kind of dropped the ball on The Flash. They didn't give him any leg printing, the helmet/mask doesn't cover his entire head like in the game therefore they they had to print his head on a red head instead of flesh so now we can't give him hair, but at this point I'll take what I can get with dc heroes. (1 down, GL and Martian Manhunter to go!) Quote
Cammo Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Wow my three favourite DC characters in 1 set? This news made my day :) Unfortunatly the funhouse set is less intrresting now. Buthey, still some exclusive prints ;) Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I missed the previous Riddlers (always in an expensive set) plus a possibly new Batman AND FLASH!! Can't wait for more pictures! Quote

Well Ra's really isn't the "vehicle" type of villain. :/ -Omi Quote
Captain Nemo Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 This is a good start--but I hope the figures at the Con will be further in development, at least in regards to Flash. He needs yellow boots, and a full head helmet would be nice (Basically I want him as he is in the game, which was perfect!). I'm in the group that thinks it's Batgirl rather then Batman, but even if it turns out to be another Batman, it's all made good by getting a Flash. Quote
Oky Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Well Ra's really isn't the "vehicle" type of villain. Really? If memory serves me right, he was riding vehicles in BTAS all the time - cars, planes, blimps, trains, you name it. Quote
halomaster96 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Well Ra's really isn't the "vehicle" type of villain. :/ -Omi Well, he could......maybe, um.....get a helicopter or something?!?! I don't know I just want him way more than another Riddler. Quote
Omicron Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Really? If memory serves me right, he was riding vehicles in BTAS all the time - cars, planes, blimps, trains, you name it. True.... but he is the kind of the guy you challenge head on, face first type. Not the lunatic you chase around Gotham. :P Maybe they'll do another Bat playset, sorta "duel" set. That could work best. -Omi Quote
strangely Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 They didn't give him any leg printing, the helmet/mask doesn't cover his entire head like in the game therefore they they had to print his head on a red head instead of flesh so now we can't give him hair, but at this point I'll take what I can get with dc heroes. (1 down, GL and Martian Manhunter to go!) On the plus side his mask doesn't look gigantic. If they had given him boots that means we would have had bright yellow legs with the red printed on. I would rather have no boots than bright yellow legs. I'm in the group that thinks it's Batgirl rather then Batman, but even if it turns out to be another Batman, it's all made good by getting a Flash. That seems possible. But it sort of looks like the usual cowl, I would be disappointed if they didn't bother to make a new piece for her. Perhaps if not a part of this set she'll appear with a redesigned Nightwing somewhere else (I have high hopes Lego will give us the figures to complete the bat-family as it's a bit boring just to have Batman and Robin and nobody else). Um, it is batman, the batman from beware the batman show. its the same belt, no lipstick and no waist lines. And it has those chest lines that he has. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Now that there's a 2014 thread up, please discuss the January set there, please. Quote

strangely Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 How can we tell? I can't even see Batman in the cockpit. -Omi He's in there, but honestly it's not good enough quality to really make out the details. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Oh, now I can't wait for 2014......a new Riddler and another cool looking Batmobile.....oh, yeah....The Flash ! Quote
Ultron Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I hope they reveal a new marvel set too...probably not though..sigh Quote
DJ Bricks Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I hope they reveal a new marvel set too...probably not though..sigh I would expect them too, i expect a X-men, Spidey or Thor set to be revealed Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) If that is true, then I'm super excited for the Flash, but I really don't want anything else in that set to be a thing. EDIT: It's true, but other than Batman's vehicle it looks completely fake and since they bothered to use the Riddler again they should have at least given him his staff instead of a banana. Really disappointed Lego! The Batmobile looks like the beware the batman version funnily enough. Perhaps that was inspiration for the design. Like that the riddler is in a small set as I was missing him in my collection also a new suit on riddler? Excellent. The flash!!!! Finally. Can't wait til unveiling on Wednesday. maybe they will unveil other things too, I don't think this is it for January 2014. from what we can see of batman I reckon he will be beware the batman black and gold design with an all black suit with a gold belt and that shaped bat symbol. Glad that they are using influences from the show with out basing sets off it. Hopefully there will be more to come on Wednesday. As there are no summer dc projects I would guess that like 2012 we will have six sets in January so this is just the tip of the iceberg. can't wait to see what else is to come!!!! i'm so giddy!!!!!!! TenorPenny Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Disney owns the merchandising rights for ASM, not Sony. And I' sure they'd have no problem discontinuing the USM sets for something movie based as that would undoubtedly have higher sales. So it's definitely within the realm of possibility at this point. We just don't have any actual news that confirms or denies it. I politely disagree. I think Disney would take it as a slight if Lego were to discontinue a theme they fully own for one they only have merch rights on. As stated by other people, there are plenty of 'USM' versions of characters who can be produced and promoted, who feature in several episodes as opposed to one movie. It's more likely Lego would think about copying the Dark Knight Rises format and make maybe one set 'inspired' by the new film, if anything. The Rhino Vs. Spiderman or somesuch. Quote

I can't imagine why Disney would care about which Spider-man they use. As Disney own all the merch rights they wouldn't have to pay any money to SONY. Also the film would be a much better option, as more people are likely to see it. It's much easier to see the film (buy a ticket at the cinema, buy it on DVD in a few months or download it) where as the USM cartoon is much harder to watch. First of all the cartoon is only available through satellite and cable television companies, which requires a subscription. Also with this the cartoon has spilt people down the middle on whether they like it or not. Marvel will most likely want to go with what's popular and at the moment I would say its the film series. TenorPenny Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Disney have made plenty of poor decisions before. They cancelled potentially the best animated version of a comic book character (in my opinion) to make the vastly inferior USM, so they clearly believe in it. Plus it's syndicated on their own channels, something they have also shown belief in. Time will tell, of course, but I think they will make more USM sets before they go all out for a film they don't own. Quote

And doing a wave of ASM sets doesn't mean Disney's done with USM, all it would mean is they want to quickly cash in on the movie. They'd still be putting out USM stuff in between movies. Fact is that owning just the merchandising rights is a slam dunk for Disney, the movie they didn't have to pay for is just a big commercial for the toys they'll put out. They would be stupid not to make ASM sets. Quote

Not sure what show they cancelled for USM, but still Marvel in the past two years have put out more ASM stuff than USM stuff. Mainly because they can stick it next to all the MCU stuff and they all carry the same packaging. Plus you said that Marvel has spent money on the TV show, but your forgetting they had to pay millions of dollars for the Merchandise rights for ASM. So I'm sure they want to make money from both. They cancelled Spectacular Spider man for Ultimate Spider man. A bad move on Disney's part for sure. And you certainly are right that they wouldn't spend millions of dollars on these rights not to use them. Quote
Zilcho Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I don't think that Flash set is real. Flash has similar headgear to Captain America, so I don't see why TLG would give him a helmet. Also a printed head is much cheaper than creating a whole new mold just for flash. Quote
