Drock Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Too bad the pictures got removed. Did anyone save them first by any chance? Possibly. PM me and I'll let you know ;) Quote
has a differing opinion Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The set is a little small, but I like the proportions and the figures...brilliant! Anyway, it's forty bucks, what did you expect? I'm just grateful they took the time and effort to make the figs and vehicles. Quote

But it didn't happen. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Out of both of those sets the tumbler is the DKR one is the worst. LEGO have slapped lots of unneeded trans blue pieces all over the wings and turbines. With tumbler however I think that although its terrible that a few improvements could have made it good. The first is that wind screen which is the worst part of it. A simple sticker would have made it look like the ones in the film. The second is the front wheels which are joined at the middle. If Lego had just joined them at the sides it would have looked a lot more like the movie ones. With both of this improvements I think it would look ok. The scale of it is alright it doesn't look to big maybe a tad too small. Quote
Cammo Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I really like the sets. 'The Bat' isn't 100% what I had in mind but great nontheless. I really like the prices, especially because they are licensed. (Although Arkham is still quite expensive) Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Anyway, it's forty bucks, what did you expect? I'm just grateful they took the time and effort to make the figs and vehicles. Not much. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by it. The Tumbler is just okay, it at least needs a sticker on the windshield I think, but it's a pretty good representation of it made with less than 150 pieces without using any "illegal" techniques I think. I would still class it as just good though. I actually really like the Bat. I didn't care for how it looked in the movie, but LEGO took it and made it cartoony and colorful and well, fun. I'd still probably scrap it for parts or use it to recolor and improve the Tumbler, but I actually do like this set. It isn't amazing, but it's okay. Now the Spider-Man set I don't care for so much. The building seems okay, and it looks like it is actually furnished, but I wish that they could add a bit more of an element of realisim. I think that the Doomjet is loads worse than any vehicle in this theme from this year, except maybe the Funhouse cycle. That fire-escape is also so nonsensical that I think that it would look much better without it. I actually had expectations for this set, and I would rather get the Ock one or just save up for Arkham. Yes but I would've preferred a detailed tumbler than a crap one, I would've paid anything for a highly detailed set. But it didn't happen. Yes, but would kids? Jackattack7 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Yes, but would kids? Yes but the movie was a 12A, so shouldn't be targeted at 12 or 13 year olds at least, you have a point but I would've loved more detail. And I agree with you I love the Bat. EDIT: The electro Batman with the Bat would look badass wouldn't it (with the similar colour scheme.) Edited October 11, 2012 by Jackattack7 Quote
Tommy Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Too bad the pictures got removed. Did anyone save them first by any chance? Anyhoo, the tumbler and bat aren't that great. They're probably really great or kids, but for AFOL, not even close. I wonder if they shrunk the tumbler b/c the #1 complaint from the first tumbler was that it was too big. Here you go: Quote

Though I agree to some extent, I think that we should consider ourselves lucky that we have a chance to own official models of these vehicles and characters. It was pretty dark. Wow, I didn't think of that combo, but that would look pretty cool. Quote
Oky Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Well, that Tumbler sure looks pathetic. But I don't mind. I think it's pretty much what we could expect at this price point, and I for one am glad the set is so cheap and still includes both vehicles and all three figs. At least the Bat looks decent, despite all the blue. The Spidey set is a bit underwhelming too. The Doomjet is kinda ugly, and I had envisioned something bigger after the initial descriptions of this set. The DBC building looks decent though. I like the inclusion of the fire escape, as nonsensical as it may be. Still, I will likely scrap this set for parts. Quote
BrickG Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I theorize that Spiderman sets are always, build wise, terrible. I mean look at that pathetic building. And why do they pick such stupid minifigure choices? Dr. Doom is good. But Nova and that fly guy I forget the name of? Where's Scorpio? Rhino? Hobgoblin? The Kingpin? Any X-Men hero or Villain? It seems to me there are 100x better choices. So far my least favorite Super Heroes minifigure is the extremely plain and boring IronFist. These next guys will follow suit. Quote

Gooker1 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Thanks for posting the photos. I agree w/ other people's comments, that for a set that fits their $40 range, it works well. Just a shame it wasn't in their higher priced set range. Quote

You just love to complain, don't you? As we've told you before, these are based on the current cartoon which you refuse to watch. Most of the characters you mentioned haven't even appeared in that show (yet), so it wouldn't make sense to include them. If you don't watch the show, don't expect to understand the sets based on it. Brickus Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The Bat is terrible IMO. Compared to the MOCs people have made, I had my hopes up for this set, but now I'm a little disappointed. Quote
K-Nut Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I know many don't agree, but I really like that DKR set. The tumbler does look a bit pathetic, but I like how it's more cartoony and comic-booky than some other sets of the theme are. The DB looks pretty meh to me, but I do love those figs. Quote
just2good Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The Bugle set looks good, and the Tumbler set looks okay. Can't wait to see the rest. Quote
Santaduckz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 To me, the issue with the tumbler set is not the actual builds, it is the color choices. The bat would have worked much, much better in all black. And I think the tumbler in camo was always going to be a big stretch. I think if that desing had been for batman and in black we'd probably have different things to say about it. Quote
strangely Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The bat looks fine to me, but the tumbler is too small. I really wanted a tumbler that could fit 2 minifigures (since my Batmobile cannot), but I suppose I'll have to wait for another iteration before I see that... Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The tiger likes what he sees....gee my buying SH next year is easy ! Remember folks that these sets are aimed towards kids and kids at heart like me .....plus a price point to aim for as well and TDKR will be out of cinemas by release time for the set so price will dictate sales. The Daily Bugle building will sit nicely next to bank from the Two Face set too ! Lego bring on images of Nick Fury's and Aquaman's sets eh ? Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I don't know what it is, but I actually quite like the TDKR set. It has a certain... je ne sais quoi that I just find really attractive. Maybe it's the cartoonish veneer being applied to such a mature movie, or maybe it's the adorable mini-Tumbler. Quote
Piranha Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Sorry to be so blunt, but, that TDKR set is <insert that tiresome argument>! The Tumbler looks like it belongs in the Racers theme, and blue parts on the Bat? Wout was right, Bane did get a car. Good thing it is relatively cheap and has nice figs. Quote
Santaduckz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) The other thing I would note about the tumbler is that, I mean, come on. Compare it to the last one: http://i753.photobuc...umblerfront.jpg Can anyone really say that that thing looks better than this one with a straight face? But what is there obsession with putting bat symbols on everything?! Luckily we can just leave them off. Edited October 11, 2012 by Santaduckz Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Well I just noticed that some of the symbols on the tumbler resembles Bane's movie mask. The Bat symbols are on everything he owns because HE'S BATMAN! Edited October 11, 2012 by Neville longbottem Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I can't believe TLG used such a bad design for the Tumbler and BAT. I was really excited about the set Quote
