Faefrost Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I love that the Nick Fury set is a classic Shield Flying Car... But did nobody tell Lego that Nick Fury normally prefers the flying Porshes? The Mr. Freeze set looks almost exactly as expected. No surprises there, but nothing to complain about either. Looks like a good set. Quote
TenorPenny Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 These two smaller sets really steal the show from the Bugle, in my opinion. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I don't know why people are so sure that there will be another Marvel set next year. The only reason that DC has one more than Marvel is because of Arkham, which is a D2C set. Having two D2C sets from the same genre released in the same year is kind of nonsensical. I think that it will be at least two years before Marvel gets a set like that, maybe three or four. I'm sure that Marvel will get one, but not until a little down the line. If there are any more sets at all next year, they would probably be for Thor: The Dark World which I think would be close enough to the end of the year for it to be considered not exactly a 2014 set, but would take away from any Marvel sets being released in January 2014. (Kind of like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.) it doesn't have to be a D2C set though. It could be a Toys R Us Exculsive or another retailer. Toys R Us never show of there Exculsive set in any of the retailer catalogs or cons. It always just appears out of the blue on S@H, just like it did with The Funhouse, Echo Base, Palpatines Arrest and countless other sets. Granted we may have to wait for the summer Wave but I don't think LEGO will be able to favour one company over the other in terms of set count. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) OMG!!!!!! The Batboat set is the best ever. Now in my flickr photostream and eurobricks group pool, that batboat is amazing, best set so far. Although Freeze's gun looks too big and bad. His old gun was bigger and looked horrible. This one looks awesome and unique. And if he doesn't have a second goggled face, I'm going to snap and break something. Edited October 18, 2012 by Neville longbottem Quote
just2good Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I like both of the new sets. I hope they're $20! Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) I like both of the new sets. I hope they're $20! They both look like it. Both are too large to be 13 dollar sets. Secondly, why is there so many sci if guns this wave? Gordon has one, Beetle has one, now Nick Fury has one?! What the hell?! Edited October 18, 2012 by Neville longbottem Quote

The Joker1 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Are we not getting a £12 set this wave then? Anyway both look superb and i look foward to getting them. Well now we have all the cards on the table i can get saveing. Quote
Oky Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Wow, the Spider-Cycle Chase looks better than expected. I like how both vehicles have a transformation feature. But why is Nick's car green? There hasn't been any vehicle like this in the show yet, so I can't say it's inaccurate, but it doesn't look like a Shield car. Oh well, shouldn't be hard to mod. The Batboat set is pretty much what we expected, although I'm a bit surprised how closely they made it to the one in the videogame. What I don't like is Mr. Freeze and his gun, they both look silly and not anything what I would have liked to see. I also hoped that one of these sets would be in the $10 range, but they both look more like $20 sets. Oh well, if you want quality sets, you have to pay for them I guess. Is it just me or does Aquaman look angry on the box art? I sure hope he has a double sided head like his fellow Justice Leaguers. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 SOLD......flying car with Nick Fury and any set with Aquaman.....AWESOME, that's my four SH sets for next year done right there. Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Woohoo, pictures!! Thanks, Lego-Freak! I love the two smallest set. The Batboat set looks exactly as expected, and the batboat itself looks very cool too. Reminds me of the movies The Spider-Cycle set is a smal one too, right? The hover car looks great and I don't really care about the figs besides Nick Fury, but it's cool to have Venom Regards, Mitch Quote
Breno - bbc Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Love both, I think they are way better than The Bat or The Bug. Anyone else notice that in Mr. Freeze's set Batman is wearing the new mask while in TDKR he is wearing the old one? Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I love the smaller Spidy set! I love how those wheels rotate, the other Batmen set isn't bad either. Quote
Piranha Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I do like the Batboat set, it came out better than I imagined. Will be picking that one up. Quote
DarthPotato Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Awesome sets! My expectations for these were sort of lowered after seeing TDKR and the Bugle set, but these look fairly nice. Quote
Aanchir Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I guess that shows the people who thought it was unusual not to have any pics yet... in the meantime, we have yet to see pics of a SINGLE 2013 LEGO Friends or Creator set (other than the Horizon Express), so the idea that it's a matter of TLG trying to keep some themes especially secret is starting to seem very silly. Anyway, hard for me to judge the Batboat. I was kind of hoping that we'd get something more boatlike than the previous one. Also what are those things it seems to be firing? The Spider-Cycle looks very cool (ain't nothing wrong with a good hovercar every now and then), though I know very little about how accurate that set is to the source material. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Thanks for the images. I am definitely picking those up. I planned on it anyway, but now I can be happy about it. They do look a little larger, so I would assume $20, but that's okay. Good minifigure line-ups and some neat vehicles. I normally don't build the sets, but I like the transforming vehicles on the Fury set. I like the different box art for each Batman set, since one is in the white outfit and the other isn't. Meaning, I'm glad they differentiated the box art logo instead of a catch-all Super Hero logo or something. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Now that we have all the pictures, here's my thoughts: I'm getting all of them. I like all of them for the figures. If we only be the prices. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I really like the Batboat set. Great Minifigs in Aquaman and Mister Freeze, and a sensible Batman costume variant to go in a nice-looking boat. That's a superb all-round set, and a definite buy. Quote
gundamz Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 The Batboat set looks too big for £11.99 will probably be £19.99, $19.99 and €26.99. That set is going to sell like hotcakes, especially because it's LB2 Batboat. Both new sets are awesome. Both, in terms of composition, are similar to Loki's Cosmic Cube (3 figures + 1 large vehicle), so I think they will be $20 each. Quote
pawcanada Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 To be honest all I want is Aquaman and Nova. While both are often view as a joke/scrappy, I do feel they're horrible under appreciated, especally after the amazing work Geoff Johns and DnA have done on the characters respectively. Can't say I care for the rest of the sets they come in, so I may buy them loose; hopefully their limited popularity will drive down the price. Quote
gundamz Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 They both look like it. Both are too large to be 13 dollar sets. Secondly, why is there so many sci if guns this wave? Gordon has one, Beetle has one, now Nick Fury has one?! What the hell?! Maybe they had a bunch left over from Alien Conquest? Is it just me, or does it look like Fury's car can transform? It appears to have wheels attached to the body via Technic pieces. So, I think you could pop the wheels out and have the car be like a regular car, or you could tuck the wheels in for the "flying car" effect. Quote
halomaster96 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I really like both of these sets and can't wait to get them! If I can have any complaints its that I would have rather had the flying car be blue instead of green (why is it green exactly?), and I would have rather had Green Lantern or the Flash instead of Aquaman, but my Justice League is still growing one superhero at a time! Maybe, or they wanted to give them cool looking comic book type gun instead of those horrible ones from Indiana Jones. Both vehicles appear to fold into driving mode. Drock Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Not muc else to say. I love the Batboat. It is what I expected, and I had high expectations. I'm not really a Spidey fan, but his set looks good as well The Batboat set looks too big for £11.99 will probably be £19.99, $19.99 and €26.99. That set is going to sell like hotcakes, especially because it's LB2 Batboat. Brickheroes has had it listed as €26.99 for awhile. Quote
