I think the Malibu Manson will be based on the scene where it's destroyed. Includes parts of the Manson and the helicopter and Iron Man( new suit), Pepper( big deal in the scene) and helicopter piolit.

Posted (edited)

We already have the Malibu house confirmed, and I think we'll get a set with the Mandarin, too.

76006 Iron Man Extremis

76007 Iron Man Malibu Mansion

76008 Iron Man vs. Mandarin

Least we know what the Mandarin looks like, I hope lego gives him all 10 rings. Theyll probbaly split the rings between sets. The Mansion is most likely based on the scene where it is destroyed.

I am a bit curious how TLG will work the rings. The rings are significant to The Mandarin's character, yet there are 10, so they would have to be very small. I am thinking The Mandarin's 'rings' will be similar to a mini-fig printed 'brass knuckle', with one for each hand.

They just won't.

Look at the Green Lanturn minifigure. Nothing.

Look at Wonder Woman's gauntlets. Mysteriously missing.

Important aspects of the characters. Yet they're not there. I understand Green Lantern's ring... but why Wonder Woman's Gauntlets? Arm print that stuff!

I was thinking they will reuse the LotR ring, recolor it 10 different colors. Then you can switch out for which ring you want the Mandarin to use. It's not rocket science.

1 that an exclusive, they rarely get accessories and the ring piece wasn't made yet.

2 arm printing is very rare and expensive for Lego to do.

I think that 76006 Iron Man Extremis could very well be another buildable action figure, as Iron Man's new suit is the Extremis armor. Not sure what Lego will do with the rings, but the mansion might have a destruction function or two like in the Helm's Deep and Mines of Moria sets, considering it gets destroyed.

Or maybe it's just a little room with Stark and the armour and the container to store with a few computers and stuff.

I agree with the Mansion part. But the Extremis set could have him dealing with the Extremis virus. I don't think those buildables where very popular, so why would they make more?

I wonder which set War Machine( Iron Patriot) will come in? He looks cool so I doubt that Lego will pass him up, plus he seems important to the plot, and above all he's Stark's sidekick!

Maybe the Iron Man.vs.Mandarin, but more likely the Malibu Mansion.

I think the Extremis set will be a small rendition of tony Starks workshop, with a few of his old suits (not the mark VI or VII). Then the Malibu Mansion will be the bigger of the three and will most likely include Pepper, Hogan, stark a few of the Ironmen suits a helicopter and the new armor. Must likely the last set will include War Machine.

Nothing is %100 confirmed at this point, especially that set.

TLG doesn't have the technology yet to print all around minifig arms, nor does it have the budget to. Besides, WW's gauntlets aren't nearly as important as GL's and Mandarin's rings.

I'm also curious how they will do the Mandarin's rings. The best bet is that they'll include a few color variations of the LOTR ring in each set.

No it couldn't. Ultrabuild figures always have different set numbers than the System sets. I think the others are right in saying that it will be a set based on the scene where he tests out the Extremis armor in his workshop.

If they do his rings, like Oky said will be recoloration of the LOTR rings. But they can just not do his rings all together. If they seperate the rings, that mean that The Mandarin is going to be in all three sets, like Loki. But there are three sets and 10 rings, there's not going to be an even distribution of rings.

Or the Exteremis set could have him be dealing with the Extremis virus and the devestation it causes.

Or they could just put multiple colors on the ring piece to represent the different rings.

Kids, I hate to break it to you but I really doubt that any of the sets will feature the Mandarin's rings. As far as I understand. the movie doesn't portray Mandarin's powers as coming from the 10 rings, like in the comic. They are more there for symbolism rather than as a weapon. The Iron Man movies have always focused on realism over fantasy much like the Dark Knight trilogy, so no magic rings.sad face.

And as far as Pepper Potts being in any sets, I highly doubt that as well. Lego doesn't put too many females in sets, especially if they are lacking any special powers or fighting skills ie. Black Widow or Superwoman.

Yeah, there big huge rings, I highly doubt there for show. They could be magic or machanical sciencey things. Plus there could be multiple different colored ones in the sets.

Pepper is in the mansion's destruction scene, she could be a damsel in destress in the set. She apparently plays a huge role in this movie, so I bet Lego would make a figure for her.

This year alone gave us Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Black Widow, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, plus Jean Grey for those lucky to attend Comic Con. I wouldn't say Lego is holding back with the ladies. Plus they had no problem giving us both Aunt May and 4 variations of Mary Jane in the previous Spiderman line - neither of which have any superpowers or fighting skills.

I'd be quite surprised if we don't see a Pepper minifigure, or Lois Lane for the Man of Steel sets for that matter.

I agree. I know LEGO is hugely male-centric, but I think that, if TLG is smart, they will bring in some of the ladies. Not only do the 'damsel in distress' type characters add a huge amount of playability to a set, but they also make up intricate parts of these worlds. At the moment it seems like they are getting that more with the DC line than marvel, but I maintain that the includence of Pepper (and hopefully other lady Civvies in the future) is a good move in the right direction in order to expand and maintain this hugely potential theme.

I can't wait to get an Iron Patriot.

It's War Machine repainted! The new look was inspired by Iron Patriot, but it's War Machine! How Many times do I have to explain this to people?!

Maybe, but I seriously doubt it. I can understand having the "one ring" in the LOTR sets but what would be the point in having ten different rings for the Mandarin? Lego almost always focuses the features of their sets on the playability. Just can't see 8 year old boys buying all the Iron Man sets to collect 10 different rings. Listen, if a few months I am proved wrong, feel free to rub it in my face all you want. But until then, I just don't buy it. Besides, what the hell are you going to do with ten different rings anyway?

As I said, Lego will include female figures with special powers or fighting abilities like those in the list you mentioned. Pepper Potts, who is a great character in the movies, doesn't have either. Maybe if Stark gives her a suit of her own, like in the comics, but doubtful. Aunt May and Mary Jane were great inclusions in those old Spider Man sets, but definitely the exception not the rule when it comes to what mini figures Lego puts in sets.

:hmpf: There's essentially no chance that Lego is making ten tiny colored individual rings for the Mandarin, that's really pushing it in terms of feasibility. We have no proof that Iron Patriot/War Machine will be included in these sets, although I agree with you that he definitely should be- Lego might be getting some angry emails from me otherwise!

And please keep in mind not everyone knows that Iron Patriot and War machine are one and the same, so actually you might be explaining that more times than you think... After all, this is a Lego fan website, not an Marvel comics fan website!

Dude, don't get worked up about it. This isn't a forum about the movie, it's about LEGO. You don't have to explain it to anyone if you don't want to. Not everyone on this discussion is going to know that, because it has very little to do with the discussion. :)

I completely agree with you on all points. There is absolutely no chance LEGO makes 10 rings for the Mandarin. I mean what would he even do being surrounded by 10 way out of scale rings
