just2good Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) I just thought about it... both Marvel and DC had six main sets last year. The same goes for this year, except Marvel has five. What about Thor 2 sets? Well, this leaves one Thor 2 set. That really sucks, I was hoping for at least two and another X-Men set. Edited January 12, 2013 by just2good Quote

Just how long is LEGO's license with Marvel and DC set up for? I can't imagine this series ending after 2013 since there is so much LEGO could do within each license, unlike before when they were limited to just Batman or Spider-Man. As with the War Machine figure, does it seem like the torso, arms, and legs are a new color? They look dark bley to me, but perhaps with a stronger shade of blue. Anyone else getting this vibe? Quote

I still think we will get Thor 2 sets all because of this poster from Comic Con last year: Here's what I'm guessing: it shows Iron Man as we're getting Iron Man 3 sets this year, Spidey as we got Ultimate Spider-Man sets this year, and Thor as we're getting Thor 2 sets this year. Not to mention that with the LEGO Marvel Superheroes video game coming out at the end of 2013, LEGO will have a lot of fresh ideas for sets, with some possibly featuring the Fantastic Four and Galactus. I know its a long shot, but I'd really like this license to last long enough to get sets for Avengers 2. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I like the fig but want a nice gun to go with it... I'm not sure there is an actual rule that they have to have the same number of sets for DC/Marvel. I sent an e-mail to TLG awhile back and from the reply it sounded like Marvel and DC get a lot of say in what sets are made Quote
North Lego Star Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 That War Machine minifig looks pretty nice , but I didn't think War Machine armor was in Iron Man 3? Hopefully it's real though. As for getting a Excluive Pre-Order Minifig with the Marvel Video Game and Thor 2 sets, I think the chances are high. The Excluive Pre-Order Minifig will probally be a character already made by lego so I hope we'll see a Comic Book Style Captain America or something like that. I bet we'll see 2 Thor 2 sets, but I guess we can't really know until the release of Thor 2. By the Way, are we getting another Lego Excluive minifig this year? We got the Hulk last year, and I would really like to see another cool minifig. Quote
deskp Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) I think the war machine seems much better than the ironman figure because of the hip and foot printing. Hopefully ironman 3 i9ron man will be up to the same standard. By the Way, are we getting another Lego Excluive minifig this year? We got the Hulk last year, and I would really like to see another cool minifig. propably 2 more at comic con. Edited January 12, 2013 by deskp Quote
Piranha Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks for that pic, War Machine looks fantastic. I also wonder if he will be the promo polybag fig like Hulk was last year, spend x amount and get one free. Either that or in the film he gets repainted later on and is War Machine in some parts. TheBatstan Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 well i say on Ebay TDKR Batman before it's set release and he had no cape. it's probably the same for War Machine, so when pics come we'll most definetly see his gun Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 The hip and boot printing will be used on Iron Man, I'm sure. I highly doubt they would release a War Machine without his big shoulder gun, it's very iconic and unique to the character. ( Though the 10 rings are iconic to The Mandarin, but they might not include the 10 rings) For the gun, I suspect the standard neck connecter, the flat 1x1 clip, and the overused ADU gun (it's comic bookish looking and looks like his gun. Quote
TheBatstan Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 i thought his gun would be more like a brick build chain gun Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 A shoulder mounted Chain Gun for a minifig has been my dream for years! I doubt they would try to do the missile launcher to and I can't possibly imagine a ADU gun on War Machines shoulder! Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Yeah but the ADU gun is turning into the new FF missile... Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Yeah but the ADU gun is turning into the new FF missile... Yeah, you're right about that!!!! They are abusing the hell out of that piece. I read the Iron Man 3 prelude part 1 and seen the Iron Patriot pics, and my opinion is the ADU gun is perfect for both. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I love that minifig, if I had any xmas money left I would of brought it. I hope they use a mini gun not the ADU gun. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 There's 95% chance it will be the ADU gun, seeing that every other gun in the theme is that. The ADU looks like his gun and is small enough to be on him, without looking dumb or bulky. Quote
TheBatstan Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) in this pic, War Machine (at the bottom) has no gun. very strange http://cdn1.screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Iron-Man-3-Iron-Patriot-War-Machine-Promo-Art.jpg Edited January 13, 2013 by TDKR2012 Quote

DJ Bricks Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Thats just to show how hes back looks. In the action shot the gun is there. I agree, but maybe it can fold in. The ADU is very accurate to the two suits. And the Lego version is very accurate to the Mark II suit. Quote
TheBatstan Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 swaying slightly off topic but which freeze gun do you guys think is the best? the 2006 one or the 2013 one? Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 swaying slightly off topic but which freeze gun do you guys think is the best? the 2006 one or the 2013 one? 2013, less bulky, more tech coolness . Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I tried to make War Machines gun with the ADU gun, and if you turn it on its side, it looks exactly like his gun!!! I'm positive now they will use the ADU gun. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 If you can, could you please show us a picture? Quote
Omicron Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Cant say the War Machine makes me crazy, it's like a repainted version of Iron Man,atleast I hope he gets a gun on his back like in the movie but I also hope we get the iron patriot version. I like the War Machine fig. I wish it had some armor with the gun on his side... Leaked minifigs from China and Mexico tend to not have the extra addons they would normally come with (weapons, capes) because that stuff tends to be made in Denmark and packaged seperately. So I'm sure he'll come with his mounted gun. -Omi Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Wow War Machine looks awesome! It seems to have some extra detail though like the '002' on its left shoulder and the star on his right leg.. Quote
