Loved the trailer... I felt Doomsday was the wrong move for the trailer but hopefully there will be a few more surprises waiting for us.

Ben Affleck's Bruce is great and I love the Batvoice.

Lex Luthor looks brilliantly creepy and manipulative, it's nice to see a new take, and definitely interesting to see how he puts on a character of an enthusiastic quirky tech geek at the party.

I don't see why everyone is saying the trailer ruined the movie, the official plot of the movie on iMBD is: they eventually come together the fight a bigger threat :P

I personally loved it :3

The new trailer was horrible. It brought down my excitement for this movie to an all-time low. It was horribly edited and had obnoxious, distracting music that sounds like something you could get off of iMovie. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex has to be one of the worst-cast characters in a long time, being super cheesy and unlikable, completely out of place tonally in this movie. Doomsday just randomly showing up at the end basically spoiled the grand finale. I knew they had to come together to fight a greater evil, but I was hoping they would save the reveal for the movie. I also hate how WW seemingly just shows up randomly, which I hope is just a joke in the trailer and not actually the case. Overall, it seems like the movie has a very generic plot, and they're trying to cram in as much as they can to set up the Justice League. I haven't lost hope yet, but it's not looking very good, in my opinion.

I do have to say, however, that I'm sold on Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman and I can't wait to see him. Also, the shot at the end with the Trinity was amazing! I love finally seeing them together!

I was going to come here and post exactly this.

On the other hand, I feel like I have already seen the entire movie, condensed into 3 mins. Saves me a $12 ticket, and I can wait 'til Redbox or Netflix for the extended (i.e. full length) version.

Lol... you're all so negative... Do you really only go to the cinema to get the basic plot points and the names of the heroes and villains?

Are you not intrigued as to how the meeting between Lex, Clark and Bruce develops?

Are you not excited to see some epic battles?

Do you not want to understand and enjoy the intricacies of the plot?

Mixed reaction to the trailer. I like Jesse E. As lex, great to see wonder woman! But yeah, could have done without the doomsday spoiler. Loved lex's lines about the mith of innocent power and about getting the devil to fight gods.

I have no real excitement for BvS to begin with, so this trailer did little for me. I will say that Ben Affleck looks great as Batman, but this film looks so densely packed with plot. Batman fighting Superman, Lex Luthor, Wonderwoman, Doomsday, Superman's personal army, the whole "should superheroes be allowed to operate"; this film looks to be all over the place and has no real focus.

My theory is that DC and WB are clamouring to get the Justice League set up in universe so they can compete with Marvel, but they're not realizing what made Marvel successful. There were five movies before the Avengers which set up the universe and our heroes, so that when they do come together for the team up film we don't need to spend a lot of time introducing all of them. I have a lot more hope for Suicide Squad, actually, because that film seems to actually have a focus and actually has a followable plot, unlike BvS.

I predicted this is what was going on as this movie was announced, and I think before we knew they were trying to get Wonder Woman in there too.

It's like they're trying to play catch-up without even knowing how.

Yeah, very true. I think what DC needs to do is to stop worrying about catching up with the MCU and just work on developing their own brands. Marvel wasn't concerned with what DC had done with batman when they started phase one.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Doomsday's final form. Just by the looks of the version we saw in the trailer, I feel like he's only been half evolved.

I think Lex Luthor was pretty good. Affleck and Cavil were great and so did Gadot. :sweet:

I agree however the first half of the trailer was a lot better than the latter.

One thing I'm confused about. I've heard multiple complaints about Wonder Woman not looking Amazonian enough? What does that even mean? In any of the comics or shows she's featured in looks just as Gadot does I think.

I'm puzzled by the Wonder Woman body type as well. Lynda Carter was smaller than Gadot. Wonder Woman in the comics isn't even big...I don't know what people are expecting.

I was going to come here and post exactly this.

This too. How does a 2 and a half minute commercial ruin a 2+ hour movie? So they showed Doomsday, big deal. Sure, it would've been better for the movie going experience as a surprise, but there it is. We don't even know what his role is or how the fight goes down. Same with Wonder Woman, we saw her appear around dirt. Don't know when, why, how, what. I understand we as comic fans tend to overreact with the characters we love, but this is a bit ridiculous. It's like people were complaining about not seeing Spider-Man in the Civil War trailer...it would be a Doomsday all over again.

Not to mention we're supposed to be seeing Aquaman & Cyborg(this may still be rumor), & maybe more, introduced in this movie. To the general movie goer who enjoys these movies, but don't lay pay attention to comics, that's a lot of characters to keep track of.

I also hate how WW seemingly just shows up randomly, which I hope is just a joke in the trailer and not actually the case.

Actually I love this, and I sincerely hope it doesn't change. Likely one of the largest reason for WW even being in this movie is because her film is right around the corner, and while Suicide Squad has The Joker to sell it to the general audience, a vast majority of non-comic book fans would gloss over a WW film. Plainly put, the DCCU hasn't established itself as much as the MCU has to the point where people would go see GOTG or Ant-man simply because it's a Marvel film. Batman and Superman are without a doubt the two most well known superheroes of DC and that will pull a lot of interest and thus a lot of people going to see BvS. By putting WW in there, you establish her credibility as a fighter if she is the one to take down Doomsday, and leaving her origin a mystery is a strong selling point to make people want to learn more about her by seeing her solo film.

That, and I have a very strong feeling that the "parademon Darkseid Knightmare" scene isn't Bruce's vision, but is in fact a vision of the Queen of Themyscia or something and is the reason why WW shows up- also tying into Justice League.

So yeah, I'm fine with it.

I don't end up at the theaters as often as I would like, partly because of $ and partly for time, so I tend to be a bit choosy over what I see.

When the first teaser dropped, I wasn't too interested in (or optimistic for) the movie. Then the second dropped, the one that starts with several actors providing a kind of discordant voice-over, like listening to several news reports as once while showing a darkened city-scape, when suddenly the light flashes on the Superman statue tagged "false god".

Instantly my outlook changed, and this became one of my most anticipated movies. The dark tone actually seemed fitting, the concept intriguing, and the trailer itself was really well cut. I wanted to see how they would address the story and the conflict between heroes; it seemed like the movie would be substantial, in a similar way to Batman Begins (my favorite of Nolan's, despite its Nolan-esque flaws)

Now after seeing this trailer, I'm back to feeling meh about the whole thing. The serious tone here feels more pretentious, as the trailer seems to reveal that there isn't much substance to the movie at all. The quippy lines best fit Lex's character, but I found him unwatchably annoying* and so I didn't care; for Bats and Supes they just seem incongruous. I am not really interested to see how they meet; didn't the trailer show it already? The epic battles are the parts I was least anticipating anyway, and the whole movie seems both too simple and too complex for its own good. The emphasis is no longer on weightier matters like balancing power and authority and is now "heroes unite against a big bad CGI foe"--which to me just reeks of AoU-style disappointment, and in that case I was already invested in those characters; not so in this case (perhaps that is part of why Avengers 2 was so disappointing, now that I think about it). Add in this trailer's awful "epic sounding" music and it just seems tired and cliche.

Sure, the movie itself hasn't changed, but this trailer has made me realize that it probably won't be much more than I originally thought it would be: a bland smash-'em-up that takes itself too seriously.

Will I still see it? Definitely.

Am I in a hurry to see it? Not anymore. I have seen enough of the movie to tide me over until I can watch it in the comfort of my own home (for free or nearly free) with the remote in my hand.

I would love to be proven wrong, but I have little hope that will be the case. :sceptic:

(BTW I am not trying to attack you and be combative, I just feel like you asked some good questions and I tried to answer them. Sorry for the long post (a habit of mine)

*compare to Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer from IM2. He was irritating and annoying, but ultimately engrossing at the same time. He was easily the best thing from that movie, and it bugs me that his continued appearance into the MCU is limited to a throwaway cameo in a one-shot.

Boy, that Supergirl ending...

Manhunter looks really good! I wonder where that leaves him for the Justice League movie...assuming he'll be in it. They going to recast like they're doing with The Flash...or not include him...

I agree, he looks great! As for the Justice League movie - I think they're going with the New 52 team, which has Cyborg instead of MM.

It's nice not to be answered with shouts and conflict ;)

Fair enough, I understand your position. I do disagree with it though, as I've said I'm intrigued by the new Lex and still am invested in the story.

You mention that it the movie feels like it doesn't have much substance, though I still have hope since we've seen, what? Only 4 or 5 minutes worth of the movie.

Anyway, ever since Chris Terrio came onboard I've had high hopes. Man of steel was not perfect, and a lot of the problems I have with it come from its writing.

Ah yes, that may be it. Or, which I thought both are plausible, they're recasting like they're doing with The Flash.

I think it's a strange move that their TV & movie are different universes. They already have some pretty great actors, really liking Gustin.

What's peoples opinion of the monster were assuming is Doomsday could be Wraith? I've heard a few mention this. I believe it comes from the eye blasts he did in the trailer, which as far as I know, Doomsday doesn't do...

Yes but this Doomsday is most likely made from Zods dead body, and Zod does do that.

Ah yes, that could be. Although we don't know if Lex used his whole body & transformed Zod or just used his DNA, I was told by a crazed Superman fanatic that is how Doomsday was created, using Kryptonian DNA. But if he did in fact use all of Zod, that could certainly explain the eye beams.

Also were Zod had a scar Doomsday has a rock/bone formation.

Rumour is that Riddler will be the vilain for SS.

At least the synopsis said they would be facing and "enygmatic" entity. That certainly alludes to E. Nygma.

The trailer for BvS didn't actually kill my excitement outright. When I saw Doomsday pop up looking like a fat CGI Orc, however...well, I was more than a little disappointed.

I do find it interesting that Darkseid is rumored to be controlling Doomsday. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The Doomsday seen in the trailer is not the Doomsday you'll see by the end of the fight – he will be constantly evolving and will be the bone encrusted Doomsday we all know by the end.

Also the rumours are that he is not the main villain anyway - more of a distraction for the trinity.

As for spoiling anything – why does the DCEU seem to be criticised for this when the worst trailers/tv spots for spoilers was without doubt, the Age of Ultron – I swear you can put together the actual film if you edit them.

The only plot point spoilable in Age of Ultron was Quicksilver dying. The movie in general isn't built on any secrets at all - it's built on fun character interactions and big action scenes.

The feeling with Doomsday is that he will be a big deal for the movie and would have worked better as a surprise than as a goblin-looking thing revealed in the trailer. Of course, nobody knows what the movie actually has in store, and maybe knowing the fact that they fight Doomsday won't harm the viewing experience. Still, for a movie that's called Batman v Superman to reveal this far in advance that they're most likely allies in act three seems a bit misguided.

I would love it if DC would just make big goofy action movies, but they're trying to make big dark and serious action movies. I don't think the Doomsday reveal is sucha big deal, personally. If the film is good, it will be good whether or not you know the plot ahead of time. If it's bad, knowing the plot from the trailer will just make you even more disappointed that they really had nothing clever in store, like what happened with Terminator Genisys.

Anyone see this yet? DC Films is now an official Facebook page, as confirmed by Warner Bros.

https://www.facebook.com/DCFilmsOfficial/photos/a.432104876988458.1073741828.429023340629945/432104673655145/?type=3&theater

Forget the CW special part.....its the Justic League! Cyborg and the Flash are new.

Rumor has it both will make an appearance in BvS:DoJ before their respectable films. Also, the promos said "Untie the Seven." We're missing someone....or something.
