According to what I read

You're right. It's a dream/hallucination sequence

Makes more sense than how most people would try to explain it;

All I'll say, as obvious as it seems, is be careful with those reviews, and make an opinion for yourself. To be honest I don't really get why the movie is being slammed like this.

Of course it's far from perfect, but I really enjoyed it.

Pros (spoiler-free) :

- As expected from Snyder, it's visually beautiful. A bit too much sometimes, but overall gorgeous.

- A really convincing perfomance by Ben Affleck. An angry and somewhat tired Batman. Then again, I wasn't part of the "oh my god Ben Affleck is the worst choice, look at Daredevil" club.

- Sets things up for what's to come. As I came out of the room, I had this exciting feeling about what was hinted here and there to come (story wise).

- A really "serious" feel. I understand that's it's something most reviews I've read depict as a bad thing, but I loved it. While love MCU too, I'm getting a bit tired of jokes every 3 lines (except from Guardians of the Galaxy <3)

- Gal Gadot makes a good Wonder Woman, although I would have liked to see her more involved.

- Jesse Eisenberg, although very different from his comic version, is a splendid Lex Luthor.

- Not too much action. I really liked the direction they took. Many found / will found it boring, but I found it interesting (and fear not, you'll get your dose of fighting, destruction and all).

Cons (spoiler-free) :

- Oddly, my main con was also one of my pros, but for different reasons. It's about setting up things to come. Without getting into details, I think they tried too much on some aspects, and really disliked how they introduced some characters.

- Story seems a bit messy sometimes, you jump from one scene to something else entirely without any apparent link. Didn't bother me that much as the plot is not hard to follow, but I see how it can be disturbing.

- Wonder Woman solo movie should have came out before this one. Her character is interesting but was introduced without any background, which must feel weird for those who don't know her that much.

- Not enough room for Lex Luthor in this movie.

- Some scenes weren't necessary, and some stuff was thrown without proper explenation.

Of course this is a personal opinion, so you should go watch it!

As for LEGO, I think they did a good job on this movie. What is obviously missing is a certain bigfig...

Thanks for that!

I haven't seen it yet but going on Saturday and still looking forward to it.

I too don't really understand the terrible reviews it's getting. They seem to praise the actors and a lot of the movie, then suddenly slam into the incoherent plot and how it isn't like the Avengers. Which to me, would sit about 50-60%, but they go lower. I honestly think people made up their minds about this movie a long time ago, purely based on the people working on it. When you see things like 'I'm not giving Affleck or Snyder my money', then you can kind of see it already. Also, the fact it took so long probably didn't help.

That's not how RT works. It's an aggregator, which means they look at the big picture from lots of reviews from different critics. They're saying that 33% of critics gave it positive reviews, while 67% gave it negative ones.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realise I was talking about Rotten Tomatoes.

I don't really like RT for that reason anyway. It deals in absolutes, like a Sith.

Green Lantern had one :look:

So have lots of other movies, including some made long before Marvel began making movies. They don't have a monopoly on it. They're simply known for making a regular practice of it.

I really hate that this movie is doing poorly. All these years of waiting for a movie like this...

I'm honestly more excited for SS than this but all the hype, man, I wanna see this movie. Sucks that it's not good.

My review of the film with only mild spoilers (nothing major, but I do speak of the roles of Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg)

Just come back from seeing it, I enjoyed it, but I can see why it only got 33% on Rotten Tomatoes. They kinda just forced and threw everything together. The Batman v Superman fight scene is like 5-7 minutes long. We only see (the strangely widely advertised) Aquaman for only 20 seconds, Ezra Miller as the Flash is terrible at hiding from security cameras at 30 seconds, and even as a DC fan, I have no idea what was happening to Cyborg, but that was like 50 seconds. I hope they show us the origins of Flash and Cyborg at the start of the Justice League movie next year.

Also hate Doomsday's portrayal, he kept changing to new forms but never his common comic book one.

Almost all the scenes of Supes and Lois are either rescue scenes or he flies to her and flies off 30 seconds later. THE CLICHÉ IS REAL!

So... That's all from me, peace out

I will give an in depth spoiler review later. Here's a quick run down of my thoughts, spoiler free-

I liked the movie. I agree with Krabby on mostly all accounts (however I disagree about your thoughts on Wonder Woman. From a marketing standpoint this made more sense, now more people will be interested to see who Wonder Woman is, where she came from, etc, and will want to see her solo movie. Many of those people may not have wanted to see it before, if they were only going to BvS for batman or superman.

For me, the biggest issue I had with the movie was that parts of it felt rushed. There is no doubt that they packed a LOT into this film, and one thing you'll notice is very quick cuts. So you'll spend 5 minutes with batman, 4 with superman, a quick 1 minute jump to lex, 3 minutes of Lois, then to another 3 of batman, 4 of superman, etc etc. I don't necessarily mind this tactic in general, I know some movies such as Star Wars throw quite a few quick scenes in like that, but everything seemed oddly disjointed. I think the movie had a lot of plots and stories and characters to juggle, and sometimes it was hard to see how these storylines were coming together. And even though some action was "implied" to move the story along (like okay so we're are supposed to assume batman did this while superman was doing this) I felt like the ending of the film, or I should say the last 30 minutes, had a pretty quick buildup and I was confused at some of the motivations, and I felt that the way some characters discovered information about other characters was not well explained.

Now with that said, I liked the actors more than I thought I would. Lex was one of the "lighter spirited" characters of the movies with his quirky attitude, but there was also some uneasiness about him and I really liked how he carried out some parts of his plan. I had no doubts about Batffleck and I enjoyed him in this, and I really cannot wait to see him in future movies. Cavil was about the same as he was in Man of Steel, though I must say I found all of batmans scenes far more interesting than supermans. (And to be honest I like the idea of a movie about the world hating superman and think that would have made a great MoS2, as opposed to throwing batman in) Wonder Woman was great as well, though she had one rather strange scene that I think messed up the flow of the movie, but she was great in the last 30 minutes or so.

We also learned today that the ultimate cut (the R rated blu Ray) will be a full THIRTY minutes longer, and go a bit more into world building and include Jenna Malinda character, so some of my conplaints might be solved there.

Interestingly, a Fandango poll has Wonder Woman as the #1 thing most people are looking forward to in this movie.

I know I am! That and how Batman is handled is my two prime motives for seeing this! Excitement!

Ben Affleck was a great batman but there was one major problem:

He kills a lot of people with no remorse.

I agree that the plot is at times clunky but if you don't let it bother you it's not too jarring.

The ending fights were glorious. It was quite shallow, in terms of intrigue and philosophy which slightly disappointed me, but overall I really enjoyed the film.

While I never complained about the humour in MoS, this movie definitely has a lot more humour - from Luthor and Perry White especially. A lot of the humour is dramatic irony, but I don't mind that - this movie is trying to be serious and if they went for the Avengers humour it just wouldn't have worked.

The movie had a lot of character and made some very bold decisions. I think the one thing DC seems to have going for it at the moment is that its films feel unique. Man of Steel was a story of struggle, beginnings and hope. Batman vs superman was a lot darker and tried to deal with some philosophical ideas like absolute power etc. Suicide squad looks like it'll be a fun, light-hearted though with a twisted crazy side too. Overall I'm really looking forward to the rest of the DCEU.

Slow, tedious, and with a lame plot twist. That said, I did like Wonder Woman and Affleck's portrayal of Batman. Amy Adams once again proves why she was an absolutely terrible choice for Lois Lane. Eisenberg did good as Lex. Still a better superhero movie than Fantfourstic, though.

My friends and I collectively agree that this film deserves higher than 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, closer to 70%. I hated Man of Steel, but found myself in absolute awe the entire third act of BvS.

The crowd erupted with applause upon Wonder Woman's appearance, while a portion of the audience, especially the children, were weeping over Superman's apparent "death" and heroic sacrifice. The film was then again met with roaring applause, and a standing ovation, once the end credits rolled.

I personally think it set up the DCCU better than Marvel did with their's

Well, yeah. That's because Marvel took their time over several movies to develop all their characters first.

That literally makes no sense. Marvel took their time, DC so obviously rushed EVERYTHING. This had more contrived future set up than Age of Ultron did.
