Bricky Dee Williams Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Has anyone watched the extended version of BvS yet? Nope, but I've read that it's better than its predecessor. (23/100 shouldn't be too hard to beat, though.) Quote
Deadshot Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Random thought: people complained that Batman is too radical or brutal in BvS, that if even there's only a 1 percent chance of Superman going bananas, they have to treat it as an absolute certainty, I'm hoping that a Batman prequel will somewhat lead into that. Entertaining the theory that this Joker is actually Jason Todd, (warped by the original Joker, who Todd presumably killed) like ToddRobin saying that Batman is too soft on Joker to kill him. That "he has the power to destroy the entire city, and if you believe there's a 99% chance of that happening, you still don't take it as an absolute certainty" or something along those lines. And that Joker gets his hands on Todd, and that pushes Batman into that extremist mindset. Quote

I've always interpreted Affleck's Batman's mindset in not caring about whether the bad guys die or not as compared to Bale's Batman (i.e. the TDK Batman refused to kill anyone personally) stems from the DCU Batman's longer fight against criminals in Gotham. Both he and Alfred seem more weathered in BvS and probably gave up on trying to hold onto every ideal in the book in the process of fighting evil. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 That's a much better move I think. All this ridiculous part 1 part 2 movies usually result in 'half sequels' that were made to milk the movie that could have been cut to one movie or they didn't have enough to make something to be justified as a proper sequel.Has anyone watched the extended version of BvS yet? Yeah, good point... in this day and age I doubt it was like Back to the Future Part II in development. I haven't seen Ultimate BvS yet... I hated the original version... but it does apparently clarify some stuff. Quote
Deadshot Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) Picked up the BvS Ultimate BluRay on Tuesday, and it is a little clearer in a few areas. A great deal of the new footage is devoted to either Lois or Clark. Not their relationship, but Lois's investigation into Lex (With the debut of Jena Malone's Jenet Klyburn, and I think some more Jimmy Olsen than what was in the theatrical cut) and Clark's investigation into Batman, talking to people in Gotham and whatnot. Also, the African witness lady who badmouthed Superman on TV... is revealed to a spokeswoman paid by Lex. Lex starts tying up loose ends, she tries to run and gets offed by KGBeast. Fight sequences are so slightly changed, the difference is negligible. The Ultimate movie is better, but not a whole step up. I enjoy both versions of the movie, but for the people who gave BvS a 30%, the Ultimate Edition may drag that up to a 35% or something. The Behind The Scenes stuff is a good addition, though. With specific sections for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Batmobile, Lex, the Batcave, and one or two others, along with a piece on the future of the DCEU with footage from Wonder Woman (2017) and Suicide Squad, it's pretty neat. Not as deep as the bonus stuff on Man of Steel, but still good stuff for a DC fan. Edited July 21, 2016 by Deadshot Quote
Khscarymovie4 Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Wonder Women trailer. Looks good . And now a Justice League trailer. Quote
NXS7 Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I'm really surprised. I know after 1 week of filming, Snyder just told us the basis of everything that's been filmed, and now a trailers been released, yet the film is 1 year and 4 months away I'm not complaining though, it looks great! Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are gonna be amazing! Quote
Ultron Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Wonder Woman looks amazing, JL looks like the same garbage as BvS. Quote
Vindicare Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) Gotta see more, full trailerwise, of Justice League... Still don't like the Roman Reigns(for those WWE fans) Aquaman... Cyborg, from what I could see looks alright. Not sure what's up with The Flash & armor... Overall though, the tease was intriguing. I did like the initial interaction between Wayne & Allen. Krulis Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Wonder Woman is going to be interesting. And I actualy love JL trailer, it looks way less dark than BvS. Affleck and Gadot are both great in their roles as always. Interaction between Bruce and Barry reminded me of Stark/Spidey in Civil War, but there is nothing wrong with that. Cyborg looks bad to be honest, I hope that CGI is simply unfinished. Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Both trailers look great! Can't wait to watch these Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Wonder Woman looks alright at this point. The WW1 setting is certainly interesting, and I do think it has potential. Justice League looks... alright. There's enough there that I'm at least intrigued by the movie, but it didn't spoil the whole thing, which is also nice. I like a bit of mystery when I walk into a movie, and so far Warner Bros. seems to have learned from the one godawful Batman v. Superman trailer. Quote
Zilcho Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Wonder Woman looks great. Justice League looks good too, but I'm not digging cyborg's look. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Both of these movies look good! Justice League is certainly going to be better than BvS, and Wonder Woman looks awesome. Flash was very funny. This is definitely going to be lighter in tone than the previous movie. Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Wonder Woman was much better than I thought it would be, I felt the trailer was cut fairly well and the Wonder Woman theme was one of few highlights in BvS for me. Justice League wasn't horrible. The costume designs were not bad, Cyborg using the N52 version, since the New Teen Titans costume is very dated and the Teen Titans cartoon one would be jarring so I was fine with that. Aquaman looks more like the one around the 90s, early 2000s era, Morrison's JLA run and JL/JLU cartoons. Flash was pretty eh, the costume here is cobbled from gear he has so I expect a new one in the movie near the end but once again, this Barry Allen is just another Wally West. So far they've revealed only 6 of the 7 in the League so I expect a character usually found in most rosters like a Green Lantern/Martian Manhunter/Green Arrow/Atom (less so with the last two) Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I'd say probably Green Lantern, because he's getting his own movie alongside all the others. But I understand completely if they're saving him for the sequel, or leaving him out of the advertising because of how horrible his movie was. Quote
Duncan Young Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Aquaman looks like a drug dealer "Wanna buy some pot? You'll have a WHALE of a time" Quote
YoshiBlockr Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 The trailer for JL looks great. I dont get all the bickering. It was exactly what we needed, something small to get us hyped yet not tell us too much. I mean it is a teaser trailer. My main gripe on BVS was the dark tone and the fact of how fat and old Batman looked. Superman seemed too young and had too dark of a suit with short hair. And Lois is way too old. But with JL, Batman look great and lost weight. The Flash looks great and soo does everyone else! Im hyped Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 http://geektyrant.com/news/suicide-squad-director-says-the-joker-is-not-jason-todd Thank God this has finally been put to rest officially Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 So, suicide squad reviews came out today and it's been mixed, but more people hating on it. Also, DC fans are starting a petition to shut down the rotten tomatoes site. Funny thing is, rotten tomatoes is owned by Warner bros. Anyways, it's not looking good for the DCEU... Quote
Ultron Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Well.... there's always wonder woman, right? Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Wow. That's a new low for the fanbase of anything, but especially these movies. Kind of sad that Man of Steel is still the best of the bunch, and that was merely an OK movie IMO. I rewatched BvS yesterday, and it was only slightly less terrible than it was in theaters. I really don't see how people liked it... Quote
Zilcho Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Its a shame about suicide squad... Though I reckon it will still have a killer opening. The reviews don't seem as scathing as BvS and it so hopefully will still do well. At this rate Wonder Woman will end up being the flagship DCEU franchise. Quote
